I just saw this video demonstrating how the A500 display can lag when not held in standard portrait orientation.

I'm wondering if any of the devs on here are working on a solution? Perhaps a better video driver?

Hi, recently acquired a Touch HD in Singapore and was excited about it. However, I've found that I have some issues witht he camera and video functions. Just wondering anyone have any experience in it and you counter it.
Camera: When I just press the only button on the screen to take picture, Touch HD will do the auto focus thingy and then snap the picture. By the time it snap, it's not the picture that I really hope to capture. Does anyone else have this issue or is there any "tips & tricks" around this?
Video: Tried taking a video clip but when I play it, thevideo clips kind of staggered. Every 3 secs of video, 0.5 secs of it are gone.
Hope someone would enlighten me. Thanks
Hello,
I don't see anyone else with this issue so here it is.
Switching home screens in default tablet landscape position is buttery smooth. HOWEVER
when the tablet is in either portrait (both ways) or upside down landscape (headphones pointing down) - the tablet is SUPER laggy switching home screens. Very noticeable and very bothersome.
Anyone else have anything like this? I'm sure it muse be software related.
Let me know!
I've noticed the same thing. Not sure how to fix it though.
Hi *,
I was trying to use my A500 to take notes but all apps I have used are very imprecise and laggard wrt a wacom even if I tried to fiddle with screen sensitivity and so on.
So the questions are
1) is it because of the screen?
2) is it because of the stylus?
3) is it because all apps have access to screen data using java and this would improve accessing the screen driver directly?
and
4) how can the situation be improved?
Switching styluses did the trick for me. I use the Alupen and widened the brush width slightly on Handrite and have not had any issues with note taking since.
I also have a gtablet and noticed the same performance benefit as soon as I switched the stylus on it.
There seems to also be a known issue of general video lag on the A500 when you orient it in any position other than the default landscape orientation. Here is a video someone made to demonstrate the issue.

I've noticed that when streaming Netflix video on my 6P, initially, during lower resolution playback as HD video is building up a buffer, some horizontal bands can be seen on the screen within sections that are displaying gray and black colors. It lessens as the video t transitions to HD playback. It is particularly noticeable when I touch the screen during playback, and the controls like rewind and pause come up on the screen. On the top and bottom of the screen, where the screen darkens, I see horizontal lines/bands within the dark screen animation. This is retained to a lesser degree, even when HD playback is occurring, and I touch the screen to bring up the playback controls. I don't notice this problem of seeing the horizontal lines/band during video playback on other apps, such as YouTube, Hulu, and Amazon Instant Video. I also don't see the lines/bands on the screen during any other times when using the phone.
Could other US Netflix users test out Netflix playback on their phones to see if they're also experiencing this problem?
Maybe, it's a matter of the Netflix app not being optimized for the 6P yet and having some bugs.
I'm hoping that this is not indicative of a screen defect.
Thank you for anyone who can provide any input on this issue.
I haven't seen this issue reported by anyone else yet.

I've used some apps to test gradient banding for the screen, and I haven't detected banding when performing the tests...
everytime i use 1080p 60fps it zooms in a bit and it kinda bothers me because id have to adjust my position no matter if vertical or horizontal recording is there another app that can record in 60fps but not all zoomed in?
You need to be a little more specific, at first reading this I had no idea what you were talking about. But realized you were talking about the same problem I have. On the stock camera app, when you set the resolution and fps to 1080, 60 fps, it seems to automatically zoom in. Even though I haven't touch the zoom and confirm there is no zoom. Weird issue that's happening on 2017u, stock B29. Of course going back to a lower fps but still at 1080p it fixed the zoom issue. But sux since I want 60 fps.
I have this problem too, any ideas on fix?
I'm pretty sure this isn't fixable easily, because what you are describing might have something to do with the actual workings of the sensor. If you want to take pictures on 1080p, and have a 3348p sensor, what pixels do you use to get the pictures?
