Screen lag while in portrait mode! HELP? - Xoom General

Hello,
I don't see anyone else with this issue so here it is.
Switching home screens in default tablet landscape position is buttery smooth. HOWEVER
when the tablet is in either portrait (both ways) or upside down landscape (headphones pointing down) - the tablet is SUPER laggy switching home screens. Very noticeable and very bothersome.
Anyone else have anything like this? I'm sure it muse be software related.
Let me know!

I've noticed the same thing. Not sure how to fix it though.

Backlight only on when in landscape mode?

Has anyone ever experienced this problem before? The backlight isn't turning on when the phone is in portrait mode (even when the phone is booting), but will turn on when the keyboard is slightly pulled out (before technically flipping the screen) and works fine in landscape mode. I'm not sure if something is loose inside, but might have to open it up and see if no one has any ideas.

Help: Phone goes into automatic landscape mode

Hi all,
My phone has been acting weird recently. Whenever i access the phone app, the screen goes into landscape mode without me tilting the phone. It doesn't seem like it is able to escape the landscape mode. This is also true for the sms app. Does anyone else have the same problem, and does anyone know how to fix this. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Alex
Have you tried recalibrating the G-Sensor?
If that doesn't work you can try violently shaking the phone or give a slight knock on the sides.
Worked for my wife's iPhone. Never had the problem again after that.

[Q] Screen not revolving?

Anyone else finding the Focus screen orientation not reorienting from Portrait to Landscape in various places (IE, e-mail etc)?
Yes, but if you notice in the instruction manual it says not all screens have landscape.
Some of the reviews of the LG qwerty phone indicate this too, making typing on a sqwerty a sideways proposition.
I would expect more landscape rolled out in updates, but then again I am a douche.
Seems more responsive today, maybe the SD card affected more than memory.
The Focus is sluggish when changing orientation. I compared a Focus and a Surround side by side, and the Surround flips to landscape and back faster every time.
Since I went ahead and bought the Focus anyway, I really hope Samsung tweaks this in time for the next update.
Rotating slow on Focus too
Has anyone tried to hard reset to see if it gets better?

Where it is sluggish? I don't feel any slugginess in mine
Mine does it occasionally too. I wouldn't say it's sluggish.. It's quite fast when it *does* rotate. Just sometimes when the screen rotates to say..landscape.. then I want to switch back to portrait..the screen wont rotate.. and i have to shake the phone a bit for it to work again. Doesnt happen always but it happens enough that you notice it.

4.2 accelerometer and power off animations

does anybody notice after updating to 4.2 that it takes a longer time to power off the tablet (the fadeout animation) Also when rotating the home screen and lockscreen it is much slower.
nobody has had this issue?
Nope. Home screen rotates fine. Might have a small delay....which I like as it doesn't switch at the blink of an eye.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
i also haven't noticed much in the way of a slow down in rotation animation. i actually dont mind it simply because i use the N7 in portrait mode most of the time.
as for the screen off animation....doesn't bother me..i actually like it. once i hit the button it make the screen unresponsive anyway, so i see no problem with it.

Screen rotation issues

Hey guys. Just got my oneplus 5 and I love it. My only issue is how aggressively it goes from portrait to landscape. I tilt it not even 30 degrees and it goes into landscape which gets very annoying, fast.
Anyone experiencing this issue? Any fixes or ways to calibrate?
So I'm the only one who has the screen going to landscape all the time, with the slightest of tilts? Do I have a faulty device?
To reproduce the issue just take another phone and watch a YouTube video in portrait mode. Put both phones side by side and start tilting. The OnePlus 5 will switch to Landscape mode before the phone is horizontal. My s8+ only switches when my phone is in horizontal position.
Yeah i don't keep my rotation on all the time so I just checked it. Mine is fine too 45 degrees. Once I go more then that, it flips.
Could be your device
hi,
got my phone last week and have the same agressive behavior. Hope an update will fix that
There's actually a thread on the oneplus forum about it. I think it could be related to the inverted display #jellygate
same here, it's about the calibration of the orientation sensor... just stop it with the inverted display thing, i think the engineers at OnePlus know better than some of us about tech, they didn't do it unintentionally

Can confirm this is happening to me too. The rotation is extremely sensitive
