Hello All,
After rooting my 1.1.0 nook simple touch, I'm having some issues. When I use social under nook settings, and I click on the "Link to Facebook, Twitter, and Google" button, the screen flashes black, and goes back to the social page, so it doesn't pull up the linked account info.
The second issue I am having is when I open the browser and I go to google, if I click on any dialog that requires the keyboard, the browser crashes and I end up at the android home screen.
The third issue I am having is that when I go to the android market, I get an error saying: "A server error has occured. Retry or cancel and return to the previous screen."
I am stumped. I tried a factory refresh and rejailbroke it, and am still having the same issues. Anyone have any suggestions?
Was able to restore the factory firmware with the 8 failed starts. The social button is working again, and I am back at firmware 1.0.0. This time I will take a full backup before I flash. Hopefully everything will work properly this time!

Anyone else besides me getting this? I had no idea what was causing it at first, but it seems that within 5-10 minutes of using the Tab regularly, the force close prompt would come up. I'd hit close, however, none of the apps I was currently in at the time would close. Every 2-3 minutes, like clockwork, the prompt would show up again. Got very annoying.
From the suggestion of another member, I took down my G-Mail widget and rebooted. Used the Tab like normal, still force closing. I then realized it COULD be the stock browser. I downloaded Dolphin for Tab Beta and used that...no force closes (yet). I have a suspicion that it could be the browser.
Is this happening with anyone else? I'm on stock KMM with the KMN CSC, odexed, with root and CWM. No other OS changes/alterations have been made. I even wiped the device completely, including my storage partition, re-downloaded and re-flashed, and it was still occurring with stock browser use.
Uncheck sync bookmarks with Chrome. Used to have the same issue and it drove me nuts.
I had this issue with syncing bookmarks. Fixed it by going to the Google Dashboard (sorry don't have the URL) and clearing the data section under Chrome. No issues since then.

Well this is getting out of hand for me. I started noticing this after the 3.2 update, but now it's getting crazy. I wasn't able to uncheck the sync in the Android browser options, I had to clear the data and then simply not sync it, but I think its still trying to sync. I did go to the dashboard and clear the data there as well per the suggestion in this thread. I am un-rooted running stock 3.2 update. I can see in the error report that it crashing on trying to sync bookmarks. What a pain!

Try creating a new gmail account (you don't actually have to use it for anything) and sync the bookmarks to that instead.
Sounds like a good idea to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks!

You have to go to accounts and sync, your Google account, and uncheck bookmarks from there. That's what stops the bookmark sync. You can't uncheck in browser and clearing data from the browser is unrelated.
I have tried rooting my NST using TouchNooter 1.11.20 following instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343143
But, I do not see YouTube app or anyhing like that. There is Gmail, but no YouTube, where I should sign in.
What am I missing?
Nevermind, I found the YouTube app, but I still cannot get Market working -I am getting "A server error has occured" message. YT and Gmail work.
Any ideas what might be wrong?

If you check in on the TouchNooter 1.11.20 thread over in the development forum, you'll see that this seems to be a common problem. It appears based on those postings that the Market app will start working after a certain time (overnight?), assuming everything else is correct.
I've discovered that you can get into the Market without waiting by adding a SECOND account. (In Gmail, click into the settings from ButtonSavior, then click accounts, and there'll be a button to add one.)
I discovered this by accident trying to set things up for my wife. I thought there was a problem because she did not have a Youtube account set up through her Google Apps account. So I went ahead & added my account to the NST to make sure the rooting process had worked, and lo and behold there was the Market. Now I needed to figure out how to delete my account (which I still haven't figured out how to do!), but in the process of researching that, I ran across this business with a delay for the market to start working.
I then wiped out my NST and went back to the backup I made before I started all this (version 1.1) so I could try again with a different account.. and a third time too, just to make sure with a different order of accounts. It was consistent: the first account gives the "server error" message when opening Market; the second goes right in.
Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of one of the accounts that's set up. Anybody know that one? If the "Accounts & Sync" setting I'm used to in stock Android is there, it's well-hidden. (For that matter I'd like to get rid of Gmail... or at least not have it auto-sync.)
Slartiwhatever,
thanks for your comment, registering second account and syncing it fixed my problem too! I do not really mind having two accounts set up, so this works well enough for me.
I've had my Nook Color for a while now, had had it auto-nooterd with 1.0.0. Yesterday I decided I was going to update it to the latest firmware, so I wiped it clean but now when I start it up, and go through all the B&N stuff, it gets to the sign in screen and when I log in with my B&N email and password it goes directly to the Error screen and says "we're having trouble setting up your Nookcolor...." I have tried to setup a new login with a different e-mail but the same thing happens after I submit my new info.
I have tried resetting the nook color again but I still get the same error messages. Does anyone know what is wrong with my Nookcolor?
Bump! I'm having the same issue. Any words of wisdom out there?
Sometime within the last week, I noticed that I stopped receiving email notifications on my phone. I can still retrieve email manually (both through Inbox and the Gmail app), but unless I open the app it won't refresh. I've tried messing with the notification settings - none of which were turned off or disabled - and I've even removed and re-added my Google accounts. No effect!
I'm not sure what else I should be trying, or why this would even be occurring. I haven't noticed any other apps giving me the same issues; for instance, Facebook and my Twitter client (Fenix) both continue to push notifications just fine. Any advice on what I could try next? Thanks in advance!
Have you wiped data of Google play services by any chance? That will cause this every time without fail.
It should sort itself out eventually, I found a good article describing what happens when Google play services data is wiped and it causes mayhem with syncing your Google account.

I know I have before, but I don't think it was recently. That's really good to know now! I'm contemplating just doing a full wipe because all these tiny problems are starting to get at me. Removing your Google account plays havoc with apps now.
I used to have this same issue when I used Inbox on my last device and never really came across any fix while searching for answers. Never had it happen with Gmail, so that's odd you're having that same issue. Only thing I can recommend is trying another email app. I use BlueMail now and have no issues with not getting notifications.
With app issues, specially with Google Apps, I recommend rebooting to Safe Mode and testing the app.
1. Hold Power Button until Power Off shows.
2. Hold Power Off until "Reboot to Safe Mode" appears.
3. Click "Reboot to Safe Mode".
4. See if the issue persists.
Check the sync
Also, check if you jave restricted the background data at the data usage
I checked everything you guys recommended, nothing seemed to help. In a rage I factory reset the phone, and everything is peachy now. Instant emails galore. No idea what that implicates as the cause.

I think that the April factory image definitely has issues. Mine was battery problems, but all is fine after flashing Mays image. There was a sync issue with all Gmail users for a while but that seems to be fixed now as well.
I have the AT&T version of the S7 Edge. I am on the newest firmware release with all my applications updated.
I have not been able to get Facebook Messenger to completely set up. Everytime I go through the process it sticks at the welcome screen after I have selected all the options I want. I have downloaded several previous versions from APK mirror and tried installing them individually or running an update.
Each new attempt freezes on the screen stating "You're on Messenger!" I can close out the app and still receive notifications but if I open the app back up I have to select my contact synchronization setting and my SMS setting again, and then it freezes at the welcome screen. I have only been able to get Messenger Lite to work normally.
I have gone as far as factory resetting the device with no luck. Other than this app the performance has been great and my battery life has been great. Facebook Messenger is the only application giving me a problem.
I had a random thought, and ended up fixing the issue. I go into developer mode and disable all the animations when I set up my phones. Apparently Facebook Messenger relies on an animation to transition from the final setup option to the "Continue" button that takes you out of that final screen.
I went back and enabled my animations at .5x speed, ran the setup, and everything completed. Go figure.
