I want to buy a Nexus S but i got confused about these versions. Which will work on Vodafone Romania? i9020A, i9020T or the i9020 4g model?
The frequencies in romania for GSM are 900, 1800 and 2100 so you are good on either the i9020T or i9020A or even i9023
ty thephantom, but if i'll buy 4g, as i have no 4g networks here. will it work on the normal 3g networks? And another Q: I am planning to buy it form eBay from USA, does anyone had issues with the transport from usa to europe? does the package has a risk of being hit in the shipping? what are my chances?

The nexus s 4g doesn't take sim cards because ifs cdma. You have to get one of the ones the other guy listed.

Hi all,
I'm planning on going to Europe, specifically Amsterdam and Sweden, next year. Will my HD2 work in Europe? With data? (I realize I will have to buy a plan with an operator over there)
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Yes it will work with any GSM provider worldwide, so long as you SIM unlock it. Todo so, either call T-Mobile if you are a customer, or go online and find a site that SIM does SIM unlocks, such as http://www.htcunlock.com and pay them to do it(around 15USD). And as far as data is concerned, you will get EDGE and GPRS only in Europe with the TMO US HD2 as the 3G bands are different.
Ah good My phone is already unlocked so I'm straight on that front. Going without 3G is no problem, I'm glad it'll work with EDGE.
thanks for the reply!
Correction: the TMOUS HD2 will work on 3G in Europe.
HTC clearly says 1700/2100. 2100 is Band I for Europe. 1700 is Band IV for T-Mobile.
I am thinking of purchasing this phone as a wedding gift. He lives in pakistan. Will unlocking this phone and popping in a local sim be enough, or are different bands used in the US that would make this phone incompatible?
Thanks

The phone should work fine, but the big question is will 3G work
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks#Asia
So it should work as far as i can tell.
But i am also wondering, if it'll work just fine in Germany, because e.g. Vodafone uses 1900 as UMTS-Uplink 2100 as UMTS-Downlink - according to Google's specs, NS supports UMTS 900, 2100, 1700 and GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900.
So what's with the UMTS-Uplink
Thanks for the responses guys. I think pakistan still has some time before introducing 3g fully, so no worries.

It will definitely work there in both 2g and 3g, and it's sold unlocked out of the box.

Well, i did some research and seems like UK also uses 2100 down and 1900 up, which would mean, if it works there it should work here in Germany too.
But i really cant tell, because i just don't know really much about these frequency-stuff.
Would be glad, if someone could help us out on this one
It works with every carrier in the Netherlands and Germany as well.
I'm gonna order one tomorrow to replace my N1

So even if I buy it on contract it's unlocked?
It would need to work in Asia mostly for me when I travel, but my main concern would be having it unlocked. I have been using an unlocked iphone for now and I just getting tired of it.

It is SIM unlocked whether you buy it contract or with out contract (full price). it should pretty much work anywhere in the world who uses GSM technology, pop in your sim card and use the phone. The only concern is the data, you have to check the network frequencies, worst case scenario is you get the 2G, Edge speed, if the country the you are going is not the same as T-mobile USA network data frequencies. This is my understanding, if somebody out there who knows if I this information is wrong, you are more than welcome to correct me
I'm getting the Nexus S buy the end of december. The thing is that I'm in India and we use the 1900Mhz uplink and 2100Mhz downlink.. Since the Nexus S uses only the downlink frequency does that mean that the phone will not work on the Indian 3G networks.?
ordered mine from USA, will be getting today by DHL, will update.
Hi all Where can I buy an unlocked google nexus one phone from Canada ?
thanks
http://store.mobilicity.ca/product.asp?pf_id=37102M
Moblicity sells them. It won't work 3G on Bell/Telus/Rogers/Fido/Virgin. But it'll work on Wind and Moblicity. Honestly, try Craigslist or Kijiji
Thanks for the response
i found it also at NCIX.
but what if I tried to use it outside Canada, will it work with any carrier ?
thanks
An unlocked Nexus One will work outside of Canada, but only on AWS (band IV) carriers. There are some in europe, and the US, but IIRC there are no AWS carriers in asia.
I searched for Nexus One for Sale tonight, it looks like Google may be dumping their stock of the Nexus One, they are available on multiple sites http://www.google.com/products/cata...&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CB8Q8wIwAA#scoring=p
Read the FAQ, Q13.

The AWS Nexus One has three bands: 900/AWS/2100.
The only countries in the world that use AWS so far are US and Canada.
In Europe and Asia the predominant 3G band is 2100 and the next most common is 900. So you're covered for quite a lot of the world. For Central and South America, not so much, because most of those countries use 850/1900 3G and have no AWS.
In which countries are you hoping to use the phone, and on which carriers?
Hi guys just wondering if I bought a atrix and used it in UK will I get 3g internet?
I would also like to know this question because Voda australia is getting a 850MHz upgrade so the atrix will work but I'm not sure about other spectrums.
Find out what Vodas 3G bands are and compare. Google it up. No need for this thread.
Yes the atrix supports worldwide 3g. The only GSM 3G it won't do is t mobile in the us.

I was over at Taiwan Mobile and the employee at Taiwan Mobile showed me their LTE Bands for the new S6Edge and for the new HTC ONE M9. The coverage on the HTC ONE M9 is pretty shabby compared to the LTE BANDS offered on the new Galaxy S6. I was impressed with the number of bands that they offered.
LTE FDD Bands covered are 01,02,03,04,05,07,08,12,17,18,19,20,25,26,28
LTE TDD Bands covered are 38,39,40,41
Pretty much if you travel between America and Asia you are well covered with 4G LTE speeds

Yes. China, Hong Kong and Taiwan all using G9250. Same model. It actually supports CDMA 800Mhz too. So it works with China Telecom in China.

I heard softbank doesn't allow byod. Not sure about others. AT&T and T-Mobile LTE are fine. Verizn won't work at all. Not sure about Sprint and others.

Thanks for the information! I travel to Japan and America a lot. I agree with you soft bank is the most strictist phone company when it comes to using unlocked phones. There is a way though I'm actually using softbank sim card now with an unlocked phone I bought in USA!
Thanks again.
is anyone able to confirm if the Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge will work in Taiwan under their bands? 4G LTE?
