Smoothest sense rom? - EVO 4G General

In your own opinion, what's the smoothest sense rom and which kernel are you running? What's your battery life like and which battery do you have?

Swagged out stock has been the smoothest for me so far
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

I've really enjoyed Synergy with the Warm Theme and 2nd would be MikG.

MikG with the chop suey kernel is a pretty good combo

Mikg or classic with anthrax

Didn't read rest of op. Classic has better life and is smoother than mikg, but mikg has awesome tweaks plus newer sense. Flash em both and see

Classic with stock kernel by far

For smoothest, another vote for Evo Classic w/ your kernel of choice (stock, anthrax or chopsuey.)
MikG is a close second.

MikG 2.60 with Freedom Less Aggressive kernel. Fully functional Sense 2.1 + 3.0, and very smooth (even at 921MHz, which is what I usually keep it at while it's off the charger).
If you care about Linpack scores (which, in my experience, are better guides to smoothness), my average Linpack score is 37 (sd=0.35, with 1GHz clock speed; score jumps to 40.2 if you overclock to 1.1GHz). For comparison, I never got over 35 with FreshEVO 3.5.0.1 at 1GHz with any of the 5 kernels I tried, and the overall average was around 33.
As for battery life, when I have a good signal all day (I promise this is a stock capacity battery - I gave up on extended batteries when I was using Froyo with SBC, and never looked back after figuring out how to optimize battery life with Tasker, SetCPU, and AutoStarts):

On work days, it comes off the charger at 7:30am, and from 9:00 to 5:15 I'm sitting 20 floors up in the center of a building with horrendous reception (I use Tasker to manage mobile data, cycling it for 8 minutes an hour when I'm at work to reduce drain), and I'll still have 68% when I'm leaving for the train. I have battery log files for every day since installing MikG, if you'd like me to make some charts.
To be thorough, I use these batteries:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003L2VERC/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details
No, they're not authentic HTC. But they work great.
I've also tried Synergy and Shooter. Synergy was ultra-buggy for me. Most HTC widgets didn't work properly, and it became frustrating having to continually kill Sense to force it to restart to make other things work properly. Of course, every phone is slightly different, as are everyone's settings. Shooter just wasn't smooth at all, on my phone, so I passed on that one after a short trial.

currently running 1.05.12 build of Energy Rom sense 3.5 + anthrax kernel. battery life is decent imo.

It is very fast, very stable, and the team gives excellent support.
Bonsai 4.0 and midnight 5.0 both fast and stable id suggest midnight its what I'm runing now with no issues
I just flashed SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0
So far, its fast and stable.
try the Truly Epic or Truly Epic Rebirth v1.5 EXT4. its an awesome ROM. very fast and stable. clean bare bones ROM. nothing to flashy it just works. Ive been running it now for weeks and love it everyday.

It was my understanding that it was the test version of 4.1 that was released only to the special beta testers group that had that issue, and it was pulled quickly, not the public release of the ROM.
If you are going to bash a ROM, please at least bash correctly.
I LUV Syndicate, and have been running 1.1.0 for a while now. The only issues I have had, are caused by restored data for a very few apps that dont seem to play nice with anything, when their data is restored.
It has several Kernel options as well, and when the theme is released, my phone will finally be back to my FAV setup with EC05! WOOHOO!
SyndicateRom Frozen for me. Very fast and stable. To be honest though, all of the ROMS I have tried here lately have been fast and stable. I wouldn't hesitate using any of them.
It really depends on your phone. Some people have had FC issues with ACS Frozen, some have had their phones bricked with a beta of Bonsai.
Personally, with my phone, it runs best on Bonsai 4.0 no FCs and best battery life, but midnight and Frozen are just as good, just didn't run as smooth on my phone as Bonsai.
I'd recommend running each one a week, and see which one fits you best. Can't go wrong with either 3.
Let me add this though. Bonsai has their own forums, while completely free, is a little different in the way they get their products out to the public. Also, as someone else mentioned, ACS has their own chatroom that can address any problems your having with any of their roms or kernels. Plus their all around good guys. So that's a few things to think about

fastest newest rom?

I'm trying out synergy newest on god mode and some aspects are fast but others are too laggy like when I try to open a program or move anything on my screen like menus or the unlock disc. Is there a way to fix this or is this Rom not as smooth and fast as it sounds and theres really something better out there?
flash the non-landscape rosie title bar in the synergy updater
I just spent all week trying out miui rom and I love the speed of it. There is NOTHING slow about this rom. Nothing laggy. Period.
BUT
The voice mail does not work right
and the GPS is **** at best.
Anybody have any better ideas of something similar to miui? Thanks.

yeah you could fix the GPS in about 15min and use Youmail. MIUI Rocks
When I was last on MIUI the GPS f'ed up on me while I was trying to locate a bar, but when I tried the many GPS fixes a few days later it seemed to fix the issue.
The other day on Synergy I was using the GPS and it kept telling me to go the wrong way until I exited and re-entered Nav. Thankfully I knew the way for the first part of the trip so I didn't get lost but it was irritating.
So I think the Android GPS is just sometimes lacking
Nothing faster then an AOSP rom
I'm enjoying MIUI right now too, but if you want a smooth ROM that's solid out of the box, MikG 2.45 is what you want.

I'm running Deck's 1.3b2 build with Tiamat 4.0.6, ViperMod & the V6 SuperCharger script, I use LauncherPro Plus as my launcher.
Battery life is incredible (I'm using the SBC flavor), having zero issues with GPS, no app FC's, phone is smooth as silk (1194 max, 245 min, Smartass governor).
Quadrant scores average 1325-1400 (take that however you want to take it, just a number guideline). Keep in mind that "GodMode" hasn't been incorporated into any AOSP ROMs last I had checked.
This is honestly the best my phone has ever run. Under light to medium usage today, I'm at 85% after being off the charger 4h12m using the stock battery I got in June of last year.
I haven't run a Sense ROM in over 4 months just because of how tickled I am with AOSP, but of course, to each their own and YMMV. I've tried MIUI in the past, but I prefer a 180 pixel density, which MIUI does not support. I like to feel like I'm getting all 800 x 480 pixels when I use my phone.
I'm using synergy godmode with freedom v 0.6 and I experience no lag at all and for anyone that cares quadrant scores have exceeded 1600 running this
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I haven't tried too many, but between synergy, MikG (pretty much each version that's come out), and Ava's Ginger-Ale, Ginger-Ale is definitely the fastest and the easiest on my battery (in my experience). The trade off is that Ginger-Ale doesn't have quite all of the bells and whistles that the others do. (less of the sense 3.0 features, fewer mods and themes available, etc.
I am on deck 1.3b2 also. W sz 2.2.1 bfs kernel and SBC my phone is amazing. If u quadrant race I hit 1900s and avg 1700-1800s. Linpacks are in the 40 range all at 1113mhz on demand.
I am now using go launcher and ikandee theme w dare I say iOs icons lol. I am very happy. Full mirroring. Wiimote. Awesome battery. I had to flash maybe 5 zips to get it to here but the look is great. And 0 lag. It works so well and is the best rom I have used to date. I love sense. But this has converted me. I would be happy to send screen shots if it helped and mods it took to get here. Very simple really but very nice for me.

Sorry to get off topic but I am under the impression that godmod modifys the I/O and increases quadrant. Would you be willing to input a terminal command and test something for me? This is my quadrant on the 3rd run after the command
Type su(enter)
Mount(space)-t(space)tmpfs(space)tmpfs(space)/data/data/com.aurorasoftworks.quadrant.ui.standard(or advanced if you use advanced)(enter)
You will get a # sign.
You can either type exit or just back out of emulator until it closes. Then run quadrant 3 times. Kinda curious how it will act w your synergy rom
Edit: I just read that it uses ext2 to mount data and that is the reason for the increases. That command should still do something for ya

so far my favorite is the MikG Sense 2.1-3.0 v2.5...
haven't had ANY problems with it at all so far, unlike a few others I've flashed recently.
It runs smooth & fast & everything works....
I had the best luck with the Sprint Lovers ROMs as well as kushdeck's clean and easy ROMs. I've been away from my EVO for a few months now (switched to Verizon and the Thunderbolt), but those were my go-to everyday use ROMs. Fast, stable, and no bloat.
I've started using CM7 with the CM6 turbo snap kernel and it's been insanely fast for me. but if anyone has any better suggestions, let me know
Def Miui. No doubt best rom there is. Only rom that I can honestly get a full days out of it. Soooooooo man customizations built right in. Only complaint about it is is that there is no 4G. Everything else works to perfection. Fastest, smoothest, best UI, best battery life, nothing beats it.

Best Possile Battery Build

Alright guys, ive been hearing different things.. people are getting an upwards of 9 hours of battery from like using texting and that sort of stuff.. stock kernel and rom will give you 5 or 6.. Ive heard some people get 18 hours of use from texting and what not..
Basicly i just want to learn to see what different kernels and set up everyones using and to see how many up hours (like a text or 2 every minute or 2), they get out of it.
Really curious to discover new android things especially battery power with a 4.3 inch screen
Im running Chopsuey kernel with nocturnal shooter sense 3.0 rom and sitting at 768max 245minimum

Smartassv2 governor
Battery life: 2 days+
nice to hear you get such good battery life.. i get about 6 or 7 hours of medium usage

I never believe anyone's claim for 2 days of battery life on a battery of any smartphone.
The most I ever got was at least 8 hours under moderate use with about 40% to spare at the end of the day.
This was achieved using a combination of a froyo rom (myn's twopointtwo) with nets 4.3.4 havs-cfs-more-sbc kernel under-clocked with set cpu and juice defender toggling my mobile data on/off whenever it was needed.

I'm still stuck on synergy w/god mode. EVO 4 g user. No problems at all. No glitches, works flawlessly.lack of support kinda sucks but check this out. Quadrant scores of 1650. Downloads up to 12.5mbs per second on sprint service. Show me something faster and ill switch

I loved synergy but I had a lot of small bugs with it
sent from my EVO swagger
Haven't tried a lot of roms but I tried Synergy, Energy, and MikG and MikG is really fast and responsive. I really enjoy this rom.
If ICS and speed is your thing, I recommend AOKP (now HWA). With the Mason Kernel + FSO
also, max OC (1152-ish) on the performance governor should do you well performance wise.
