Hi!
I just passed to an android nand rom, before i had android from sd. It was very simple for me to install apps, i just passed the files .apk to the folder Android Apps in the folder of Android Sd and when i reeboted the phone the app was installed.
Now my question is, i have nand android and tried to place an .apk app in the root of the sd, reeboted, and nothing was installed.
I tried to search for an answer but nothing, can somebody please explain me how to install apps in this nand version?
And also.... how can i remove boot sound? i cannot enter in recovery mode... in the sd version i had the option to reebot in it by holding the power button (but really never worked), and now in nand version i have only the option to Reebot, Shutdown, or Put in silent mode.
Thanks!
Hmm..are you talking about installing typical apps or some special apps? cause for most of apps you can install them as simply as coping the .apk file to your SD or even download them directly from the web to your SD,then browse to where you copied/downloaded them using your file manager and simply click on the app to install it,or there is the hard way by using 'adb' and the command " install -s yourappname.apk".About that recovery issue, you can't access recovery mode from the power menu on HD2 android, however we do have a working recovery image in some other way,so you might wanna do some reading HERE first. Hope i helped or even understood you correctly,if you need more help just be more specific and i'll be glad to help you further.Cheers!

hi, i'm really glad you answered and i thank you..
my problem now is.. i don't have a file manager because i cannot install this famous apps like i did in the past with sd version. Usually i placed the apk file in AndroidApps and the app whas installed in automatic when i reeboted. Now in this nand version i don't have this folder and in rom i don't have a file manager... (still i don't understand why android doesn't have one in stock like wm had).... and so i cannot install nothing... i neither cannot access to phone storage because if i select the option when i connect the phone to connect with Htc Sync the phone gets stuck searching for Htc Sync in my computer... I don't know which is the solution now and i don't understand why nobody in forum speaks about this problem i have.
Thanks!

It's not really a problem, dude. simply go to market and install ANY file manager you like then you would be able to do whatever you want,i would recommend 'esfile manager' it nice one and works almost with every build. You can also do it using 'adb' on your pc.
"(still i don't understand why android doesn't have one in stock like wm had)"<--That will always be a wonder to me,it seems kinds stupid not to add it,maybe they depend on you to access market and get one yourself.
thanks
ok, thankyou mate. in all cases i'll try to flash another rom with the ClockworkMod Recovery, i've seen the video and it seems a very good program, also because of the backup and restore option, i really like it.
Ight, just make sure you are downloading a rom with the '.zip' format for clockwork not any nand build, not all of them are packed into '.zip' at least not yet.Glad i could help.

last question
a last question, i've seen that if i pass from a daf rom to a zip rom it's better if i whipe the system before flashing, maybe not wiping can cause issues, you know how to?
thanks
Sure, after you install clockwork you will find an option inside it's sub menu 'called wipe...something something' don't really recall, but it's there you will find all the instructions for clockwork in the thread for it.

Have you tried wiping everything via the CWM. I think its the 3rd option from the top. Wipe Data/Factory reset. Wipe your internal memory from here, then wipe the cache(its the next option). Then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache from there. After this, try installing the Rom again.
If this doesnt work, try creating a bigger partition on you r internal memory
Thanks 4 ur help MR. Adil ... YES i did it every things you wrote ... Wipe data / Factory rest, Then in Advanced i wiped Davlic cache when i did that my Internal Storage NOT Working !!! When in Magldr 1.13 Go to the eight section ( 8.AD Recovery ) The Clock Work Recovery NOT Working and by the RED Font Say ( No boot sources ) !!! Please MR. Adil Can u Help me how to Fix that Problem ... I thing my internal storage ( NAND ) Completely STOPPED Working Because i Used ( HD2 Toolkit ) to Wipe(Task29) then partition my system storage But Not Working after 2 for 3 minutes i got an Error Writes ( An error has occurred Read below for more information ) Error Description: USB init failed , Info: . \RSPL\RSPL.cpp (736) .... Please my Brother Help Me Please If U Can BIG Thanks
you could try those SD ROMS there more easier to work with as long as yung have magldr.
there are sequence that must be followed in order to have a good working system, i hopw you followed those sequence, if you want CWM back try the link below, it might help.

Im sorry i coudnt get back soon. Ill tell u the steps to successfully install and run a MIUI rom. I dont have alot of time as i am shifting to another country today so please search for the links yourself.
Alright.
Step1: Install HSPL 2.08(just search for HSPL3)
Step2: Install Radio 2.15.
Step3: Install MAGLDR v1.13
Step4: Partition your internal memory by installing clockworkmod recovery(CWM).
Step5: Using the mounts and storage feature of CWM, select mount usb storage and connect the phone to the pc via the usb cable.
Step6: Copy the downloaded .zip file(This is the Rom)
Step7: From CWM, go to install zip from sdcard and select zip from sdcard
Step8: Just select the zip you just transferred into your sdcard.
Thats basically how it goes.
NOTE: - All of this you are doing at your own risk
- When selecting which partition, sele t the 150M. If Rom doeasnt work then select a higher value
- Place the downloaded .zip file(ROM) into the root of the sd card
Thats it. Hope it helps. Feel free to contact me if anything goes wrong

thax for your suport. am waiting ur guide...
Just see this guide. It's very easy to understand, even if English is not your native language. This is a simple overview:
1. Flash MAGLDR 1.13 in bootloader
2. Flash CWM with the correct partition size for your selected ROM:
3. Partition your SD card for use with A2SD within CWM
4. Flash your desired ROM as a .zip from CWM.
Use HD2 TOOLKIT
You just need to use the HD2 TOOLKIT, which gives you all the necessary tools to make a fresh install
dear respected members, still am not getting where to start, where to download, am very confuse. i was searching on this forum and i found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620&page=1 and this exact android version is installed on my htc hd2 mobile. all screen shot of this link is exact on my mobile..
please tell me what to do , where to start , where to download software, which version is better for me, should i have to format everything on my mobile or what. please please guide me...
i just wanted to increase my internal memory, so that i can install lots of apps on my mobile. so please help me to select latest version of android and guide me step by step procedure.

This is pathetic, you're just not trying here. You want everyone else to do it for you. The guide I linked explains everything fully and even provides CWM downloads. Since you've already got the DFT ROM on it, surely you can figure out that you already have HSPL 2.08 and a viable radio? And if the guide says to flash MAGLDR 1.13 then why not just do it? There's no point helping you if you aren't going to put any effort in at the same time.
First,u will have to install HSPL 2.08
You will download the hspl 2.08 and u will install it by pressing power and the volume down and keeping it pressed.
2nd,u have to download and install 2.15.50.14 radio in the same way u installed HSPL.
3rd,u will download and install magldr 1.13 agin in th same way..
Now,you are ready to install any NAND Android rom. This means u will have no longer windows 6.5 installed on your phone..it' gonna be "blank"..
Then, you will find a partition system..(250M would be fine, it's a zip file) and run Magldr menu in USB FLASHER mode..that means u wil have ur phone connected to the usb port.. (you open the magldr menu by holding pressed the power button)
U will unzip the 250M an run the DAF.exe file..the partition is going to begin itself..
After that, u will go to magldr menu in the magldr menu and u will run 8. AD RECOVERY..u will go to mount and storage menu/mount and will get the rom u want to install in the sd card..then u will press back and u will find and run the install from sd card menu..the rom installation is about to begin..and if everythin is done correctly, the android rom is about to launch..
If any questions, don't hesitate to ask..good luck with your new android rom.

I have the same issue, as even with no apps installed to internal memory I supposedly have used up 90% of my internal storage and only have about 20MB left. I think all of the apps install something to the internal memory by default, because when I went through manually checking some of the larger apps I found that there were some things which still had the .apks or the libs files on the internal storage. Once I moved all of them, I had freed up about 40MB of space (i.e. total 60MB free), but somehow that gradually disappeared.
can any body suggest me any solution please ?
still waiting solution for expert members...

i guess it's how the systems works, you can't have 100% on sd for some apps to work properly - some of it must be with the droid system in nand :silly:
camera is very bad then htc froyo 2.2 why ? and how to fix ??
The HD2 camera isn't particularly good, but I get good enough shots.
Hi guys.
Yesterday I got a used HTC HD2. It is installed with android nand and the DFT (Dark Forces Team) rom, I think taken from the DESIRE (according to the information on the 'About').
The main problem in the device is that it has really bit memory! After installing few apps, I cant download a thing :/
So I searched for the problem and I've realized that I need to make a partition on the SD-CARD. However I saw that in the market there are apps that allow moving the application that can only sit in the internal memory to the external memory.
I then found out that the phone doesn't have root access too. (Although it came with SUPERUSER app as default).
I can't find the main thread of the rom in order to ask there how to root the device.
Which software / app, will I need recovery installed (althogh I don't think it requires) and ETC.
Please can someone direct me or just give me names of apps/softwares/guides/anything :crying:
I guess GOOGLE could be my assitstant from there.
I'm afraid to follow guides that I don't sure will work properly with my phone's software.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your kindly help.
Which Android version do you suggest to change to ?
ICS ? Or maybe GingerBread ?
And BTW I entered before to the MAGDLR menu, chosed the " AD Recovery " option and it said something like " no boot source ".
Does that mean that I don't have a recovery installed ?
And if so, will I need to install it first and then change the rom ?
Again, Thank you for your help.
Peleg.
yes you will need recovery...fast roms are mostly GB but ICS are as good as well...GB need less space on rom memory so if you don't install alot of craps as most of us do the remaining space will be fine for your data...ICS have hwa, apps work faster and games play better..I recommend ICS by tytung to be honest(very fast and stable)...when you download the recovery you will see a "flash.cfg" file...on the rom thread the developer will state the partitions needed for his rom and so you change the numbers on that file accordingly before flashing the recovery...but always make system space little bigger than needed just in case(and to avoid other problems that i will have a finger cramp if i write them down.! )

I will first install the recovery, but I guess I'll have to read a lot before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
Then I will search for a guide for installing recovery-
CWM will be great right ?
Thank you very much !!!
The guide you linked is very useful and makes everything clear. I strongly recommend reading it thoroughly before doing anything. Once you're slightly more comfortable with the terms, you can follow the guide in my sig to flash CWM and a ROM. You already have HSPL, a compatible Radio version and MAGLDR installed so don't worry about any of those. If you happen to come across guides which say 'task29' just ignore that step, Task29ing is completely useless.
As for recommending a ROM, it depends on your usage. Eliaskammas' post sums it up nicely, but you should note that (IMO) ICS and JB will give you worse day to day performance and stability than GB but will be better for intensive activities e.g. gaming, web browsing, using content-heavy apps etc. I've also found battery drain to be marginally more on ICS and JB ROMs.

Hi.
Thank you for your advices and technical help.
I will read it as soon as possible and then try to install the CWM Recovery and a better Rom.
According to what I saw, I think I will go on the "Energy rom" (Sense 3.5).
I will probably update my progresses here.
Thank you a lot.
BTW, a deodexed rom is needed for languages that are written from right to left ?
Or that I have to find a rom supports RTL ?
Beacuse for example, I've searched the thread of the Energy rom for "Hebrew" and found out that it doesn't supports RTL :/
Thank you.
I don't want to confuse you but I personally have always found Sense based ROMs to be slow and I think you should really stick to CM or MIUI. Anyway, that's really just my opinion.
Unfortunately, I think that you may have to find a ROM which supports RTL. I haven't looked into it but there may well be an app which somehow makes it work. If you're desperate for Android with Sense and RTL support then you could consider some of the SD ROMs from boxmax, he made good SD ROMs (at least when I used it), but I don't know which NAND ROMs will work for you.

I took your advice and I think I will go on this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It supports rtl and data2ext.
But do I need to change my HD2's kernel ? To Dorimanx 's kernel ?
And from the guide that you've recommended on before, do I need to start from this part:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12656427&postcount=3
And to skip the other parts ?
I've read the hole guide and it is very helpful.
Everything is really clearer.
There's no need to change the kernel after flashing, but you can if you want to. I think the dorimanx krrnel is included in that rom anyway so i don't see why you'd want to flash it again. Follow the new way method and everything should be fine. You can use the NAND toolkit to select the appropriate partition size.

Hi Nigeldg.
I now want to install the CWM (long time hh)..
In this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It says to install CWM with this partition size:
" Flash the Latest CWR (Clockwork Recovery) with the appropriate partition sizes by using the "Repartition" button inside the HD2ToolKit: System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB "
In the thread of CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
Can I change the partition sizes used for CWM
A. You can by editing the flash.cfg but this is not recommended, CWM is designed to make it easier for switching roms, by flashing a custom partition size you may stop other roms working and require reflashing a new partition size when you want to change roms.
Q. I dont know which partition size to download
A. Depending on what type of roms you plan on using, you should choose the partition size based on the following.
150MB Partition - For bare roms including CyanogenMod, AOSP, and MiUI
250MB Partition - For Standard sense roms including Desire and EVo based ROMs, can also be used for some squashed HD builds
400MB Partition - For Larger roms including unsquashed Desire HD and Z roms, ROMs REQUIRE data2sd for EU HD2 with 512MB NAND
And in the thread in your sig it is possible to download 3 version of the CWM. (150, 250, 400).
How do I need to install the CWM ?
To download the 250MB version, and using the HD2ToolKit to change the partition size and install with System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB (as the rom developer suggested) ?
Thank you!
The thread you've linked to is the old CWM thread. I don't see why it says that you shouldn't change the partition sizes because that's simply not true, pretty much all ROMs use custom sizes. Ignore that advice, it's wrong. In my opinion the easiest thing to do is to download the HD2 NAND Toolkit, click 'MAGLDR repartition', choose 200 and you're done.

Ok.
So I've downloaded the HD2 ToolKit.
Actually what I need to do is this:
1. To choose the 200MB and 5 Cache and then press repartition. (In what way does the phone need to be ? MAGDLR Menu, or other option ? )
2. Then to install the CWM by going to MAGDLR - USB Flasher, connect to the computer, and run the
DAF.exe.
Right ?
1. Open the toolkit
2. Click the MAGLDR repartition tab and select 200 and change the cache size to 5
3. Click 'repartition' (bottom left of the toolkit)
4. Follow the instructions it gives you (boot your phone into USB flasher mode then connect it to your PC) and let it flash.

I don't think you understand, THIS IS INSTALLING CWM :') After you've done this, just flash the .zip ROM and you'll be done

If I've already did it, just do this thing again and it will work ?
because now my phone cant load to the rom, it says NAND Kernel something and boots up to MAGDLR.
Is it OK ?
EDIT:
I've did it and chosed the "AD Recovery" option.
Now I can see that I have CWM Recovery!!
I thought that I had to choose somehow to install the CWM, and that's why I didn't understand.
Now,
Do you recommend to do wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache ?
And after that to install from CWM the ROM that I've transferd to the Root of the SD right ?
Thank you very much !!!
You don't need to wipe anything, that already happened when you flashed CWM. Yes you should just have to flash the ROM now, as said in the guide in my sig. You may want to create an EXT partition but for your particular ROM it's not a necessary step so you can skip that. Glad I could help

It isn't necessary because it automaticly transfer the data to the SD ?
During the installation a message showed up saying that the rom identified that I don't have an EXT-partition installed.
Can I make a partition using the CWM/ADVANCED/PARTITION-SD ?
Thank you so much for your help!!
You saved me, and becuase of you I didn't sell the phone.
Thank you!!
It isn't necessary because the ROM itself is quite light, so all of it can be fit on to the NAND memory. It would help to create one because you may need it in the future, so I personally would if I were you. The way you described would work fine
I am running on MIUI Android 2.3.9 and it is a mess, it kept popping up error messages "Google framework" and i dont have any google services, such as Play Store, Gmail, and i cant receive SMS, and my bluetooth also not functioning, and cannot delete anything from the SD card from the phone, i have to take out the SD card and plug it in into a computer just to delete music, video and pictures.
Was hoping to change for a new OS, but the problem is my usb port is also not functioning. I even have to charge my battery using a third party charger.
Is there anyway i could change my OS with using the usb port. Can i use the SD card instead to do all the works.
And if can, what OS should i get and how.
Dear good Sir, PLEASE HELP, im a complete NOOB. I know nothing about phones and how to mod it. The one who helped my change my phone from Windows to Android is a phone shop, that now doesnt do it anymore.
Search for clk 1.5 This can be installed from the sdcard and will also Install a version of recovery. From the clk menu you can partition your nand to the required size for your chosen ROM. Read carefully and you will be fine.

If you mean change ROM, then you can do what Shanman posted. If you mean actually change OS from android to Windows Mobile 6.5 (a stock ROM), you'll have to flash a LEOIMG.nbh in the boot loader (Google how to do this). If you want to flash Windows Phone then I'm afraid I don't think there's any way to do that.
