When you say t mobile, do you mean t mo USA? Only the USA version (the "tmous") is different.
Always and only 2.08.hspl for android and wp7.
Radio, there are two families of radios, 2.xx.51.x and 2.xx.50.x,, (shortened to ..50.. and ..51.. ) take special note of the 50 and 51. For magldr, android, wp7 you MUST have a ..50.. radio, and the 2.xx.50 xx must be higher than 06.
To keep it simple, if you DO have a tmous, the radio will already work. (..50.. radios are tmous radios)
If you have a regular hd2 (all white hard key lights) then go flash 2.15.50 radio.
If you do have a tmous NEVER EVER flash a ..51.. radio, or a non tmous stock winmo rom, or ..50.. radios lower than 2.06.50, because they will always brick tmous phones.

Yes it is Tmob USA version
Its different??

Thank you for your reply Sir
Can you please suggest me a hspl & radio for my tmous, I have found HSPL4 from your signature & the radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
that link (1st radio of that link) i.e Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14**: MultiUpload
Can I use those or it will brick??
Thank you again

use hspl4 to set 2.08.hspl (android / wp7 will ONLY work with 2.08.hspl) and yes that radio is fine.

Maybe it needs to network unlocked. Did you have an unlock code?
or it could be hardware related:

I got my money back )))
and another Tmous is coming day after tomorrow..... but now its new ( and unlocked) ))))))))))))))))))
I can't say how happy I am.

But let me tell you that now my HD2 is working like charm, no issues at all...
and I am really happy to be a HD2 Owner .

I have a another question here...
I flasher that 6.5 os at the day 1.
Using Mango Pdaimatejam ROM 8107 v7.2
and ICS from SD
But somehow I found there is two types of radio...
1. Hardware Radio.
2. Software radio.
As I came to know Radio version ....51.... will brick the Tmous, and that's why we have to flash with ....50.... radios. And I think this is the Hardware Radio Part... If I am wrong please let me know.
But...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21988711&postcount=1876
Here Dxdy has given different types of Hardware as well as Software radio link along with latest rom.
Now please tell me If I use
Hardware Radio= Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14.
And Software Radio radio =5.51
Will this combination brick my TMOUS HD2??
Thanks in advance

Radios: Big confusion here!

I've been following the developments on the recent radios, including the 2.08.50.08_2 radio thread and i must say i'm very confused. I am under the impression this is a TMOUS radio and from what i gather, TMOUS hardware is not the same as the original leo, especially the radio hardware. And yet i see all these people eager to flash their original leos with these new radios.
My question is: do we know for a fact that these radios developed for TMOUS are being developed with backward-compatibility with the original leo hardware? Is it not risky to flash our phones to run radio software against hardware it is not developed for?

its the same phone... so same hardware.
that would explain the poor audio quality i get with radios 2.07 or above. However only a few people seem to have this problem. Others report good quality, reception and battery life.

It would be nice to throw in a link or two of sources that state that the T8585 and T9193 have exactly the same hardware, otherwise it's just your opinion.
T8585 runs on 850MHz while T9193 runs on 900MHz, how do we know TMOUS radios are compatible with our original leo's 850MHz working frequency?
Also if some mod could move this to the general forum, i just realized i posted it in the ROM forum.

Radio antenna's have to be "tuned" to the required frequency bands in order to optimise performance. This is usually done by changing the physical length of the antenna and/or using different passband filters.
Ever take an old radio apart? there are (usually) square metal blocks with what looks like a screw head in the top. That can be twisted to alter the working frequency, the rest of the radio doesn't need to be rebuilt/programmed for it to work. Same when Channel 5 started in the UK, they emplyed loads of people to twist a small screw in the back of VCR's to retune them.
Same with the radio's in our HD2s, the hardware will be the same in each unit, just the frequencies pre set differently. The radio stack shouldnt make any difference from one unit to the next, (except of course the internal operation of the stack, , battery life, etc)

sorry for dumb question but are you saying that TMOUS roms will work just fine on T8585?

bricked tmo hd2 after flashing a radio. anyway to bring this thing back to life?

i flashed a radio from the tmo hd2 radio thread. but it's an older radio (2.05.50.11) i' ve tried like 5 different radios and the oldest one (Leo RADIO 2.07.50.27_2) seemed to work the best so i tried Leo RADIO 2.05.50.11 to see if i can get better results but it didn't boot back up. anyone with any ideas?

Ouch. I'm still new around but if I remember correctly, 2.07 is the lowest version of Radio you can flash in your 1024 Leo (although most people you recommend that you run 2.08 and above instead). You should have read this thread as many times as you needed to understand everything because making a mistake will cost you a lot of time, trouble and money. I can only hope that T-Mobile will let you get a new one by making some excuse like "It failed to update and look what I got!".
actually i tried 2.06 and it was fine which is why i decided to try 2.05

Sounds like you wanted to brick it. They say 2.07 is the safest and anything below that is risking you brick your phone. Your out of luck. If you have HSPL i wouldn't go in for a warranty exchange as they will possibly see it once upon recieving it. So better hope you have insurance.

Yeah just call up insruance or go online and sumbit a claim. Just say it is broken on the claim. Most people will say to say you lost it but most people don't understand that insurance is not the same thing as warranty as they will replace it even if you tampered with it.
Sorry to hear but yeah if others were reporting the same thing as you were it prob wasn't the best idea? TMOUS HD2 is so much easier to brick than the International HD2.

but i have hspl and a custom rom on there. is there any way they can check that and deny my warranty and or insurance claim?
Probably not, but just in case I'd say it was lost...if it were me that is.
Sorry to hear its dead, but i must say its very strange that a tmous radio killed a tmous.
It certainly changes the ideas as to why radios kill tmous phones. We assumed it was because the 51 radios couldn't access the extended rom/ram, however this was a 50 radio, from a tmous rom, so it should be able to see the rom/ram fine.
No explanation, very strange. I'd be almost inclined to think someone packed a 51 radio into a 50 filename.
Dont file an insurance claim, thats a horrible idea. Call tmobiles customer care and tell them your phone wont boot up. They will send you a replacement phone and you send the broken one back. Its doubtful they will check it but if they do and charge you its only $110 instead of the $130 through insurance.
Edit: Are you able to boot into the bootloader or will the phone not turn on at all? If you can boot into the bootloader then its not bricked.
I havent flashed my hd2 after reading all the people briking their phones.

You shouldn't have to worry about trusted and tested ROMs/Radios. Unless you do something horribly wrong, you'll be fine. It's when you experiment with stuff that you get into trouble. Just tread the beaten path and you'll be fine
Flashing your phone is like skydiving; it's fun, it can be completely safe, but there will always be some risk (especially for the inexperienced).

The number following that is your spl.
If it ends .0000 then it is stock. Example 2.08.0000 or 2.10.0000
If it ends .hspl then it is hspl. It will also say cotulla on screen too. Example 2.08.hspl

HD2 with At&t US

Hi, i have a HD2 unlucked using it with AT&T US. the signal is quite bad, i dont have 3g at all, ive realised the bands dont match up but is there any way to increase signal strength or something. The signal is ridiculous at times where i have no signal at all in my house.
try different radio
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669733
Unless you bought a T9193 (look below the battery cover, is there a "Next G" or "T"?), you won't get 3G.
You might have luck playing with different radios to see if you get better coverage. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713977 for more info. If you have a TMobile HD2, then you might want to check the other HD2 forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=631
If you have any questions, read up on the Q&A forum either way.
thats why I was asking about best/latest Radio Version for AT&T. Is your Radio Version the same as mine, identified in earlier post about AT&T Radio Version?
I have at&t (but I am using a t9193), I am having good results battery & signal w/ radio 2.12.50.02_2 (link in my sig)
what exactly do i do with these radio roms?

Non-U.S. HD2 are not compatible with TMOUS 3G regardless of the radio Rom being used. A more current ROM may provide a better basic 2G/GPRS signal.

You're thinking of the radios (software), not the antenna (hardware).
You do NOT want to use a radio for the euro HD2 on the T-Mobile HD2, that is the surest way to brick it. However, you CAN try different radios for the T-Mobile version, to see if any of them help improve your reception there.

I don't really know for sure....but it's an integral part of the chassis, so it's not like you could just replace it anyway, not without a lot of effort.

I think you need to not mess around in the Registry, that's what.
Just flash different radios, they aren't hard to flash, and try them out for a little, one is bound to help you get better reception!

As the other's have said, you can try different TMOUS SUPPORTED radios, but unfortunately that's all you really have available to try... the registry wouldn't have anything to do with reception... it only deals with the PDA function of the phone, not the phone function it's self.

[Q] T-Mobile HD2 Reception Problems

I bougt T-Mobile HD2 two weeks ago
I have 2 sim cards and I use the primary sim in a Nokia N70
then I decided to switch to my new HD2
then I noticed the crappy signal and that it drops inside my house
while my other sim card from the same carrier working flawlessly on my nokias N70 & 1110 ??
so I tried to Google for a solution and some forums suggested that I flash a new radio....
I know how to flash a radio but I dont know which radio fixes the poor reception problems
so I asking for your experience in this great forum to guide me through this dilemma..
thanks in advance
TMOUS HD2 , using Froyo 2.2 with stock TMOUS Radio: 2.15.50.14
Im afraid its all trial and error, If I were you I'd try the newest one and work backwards....
You'll need to give it a day or two to settle in before you make a decision on if its better or not though.....
Edit
Just noticed you have the newest radio so you might be better starting from 2.08.50 and going up the way...... its pot luck really though.
And seeing as you have a TMOUS I cant help but feel obliged to remind you NEVER to flash a radio with .51. in the name........
2.12.50_02 gives me an excellent reception as well as battery life.
thank you very much
I'll be trying 2.10 and 2.12
and see what happens
I surly hope I wont brick my phone....
