SWAP NOT WORKS
Terminal Emulator & ADB same errors and not works.
I have
Desire Z
8GB memory card CLASS 4
RCMix Blue Edition v4.0 ROM
I will be happy if someone can learn me how to make it working
Couple of things:
1) Have you partitioned your SD card properly
2) Are you 100% sure your kernel supports SWAP.
"swapon: applet not found" suggests the kernel doesn't support SWAP

What the hell , i have Unity's kernel , and rcmix rom , wich kernel i need to have swap?
Is that the kernel it comes with? If not try that one
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA App
The Unity kernel should work, I'm using v9 and have SWAP enabled. It seems to make quite a different.
Can you type swapon in the ADB shell? If not, it may not be in the ROM

Im actually running CM7 too, forgot to mention
My free ram over 250MB too, maybe you should try another ROM, you can try Virtuors g-lite 1.0.2-1.0.3. This is the lightest rom, i think. But i'm using MIUI osimood 1.7.15 v1.2 ^^

Just as the picture above shows, when flashing kernels made by devs, it says 1bad blocks encountered in the fastboot window, and when flashing finished and try to start up the phone, the phone just vibrate once and lose response. The screen even doesn't turn on.
I have unlocked the bootloader.
The only way to fix the phone after flashing a kernel is using the flashtool to flash a ftf file.
Do you guys know why this thing gonna happen?
you flashing kernel that arent compatible maybe?
from my ARC using I.See.Ass

dun know the non-unicode language will affect the DOS code or not , cause u using the chinese non-unicode .... need ask those pro to conform

No, there is some kind of problem with sd card. Class 10 sd cards have a minimum of 10mb/s write speed. You can try to increase those values with rom toolbox lite or pro. You just need to go to the performance tab and scroll down and sellect sd boost and try to change the values and check which one provides the best sd card read/write values. Hope it helped

Well, I tried every one of the values but it didn't really change anything now I am using 1024 kb but thanks anyway for the answer
There is a useful computer app : H2test2 or something like that.tests your memory card's writing and reading speed. make a copy of your card, format it and try

I have a ubuntu server running samba, can I mount this on the Ouya so it appears to be local?, (thinking roms) - to save having to use USB sticks.

Also if you use XBMC you can mount the shares there without having to worry about it... now if you are wanting to mount the share so that emulators and other things can use it ( aka creating a symlink folder on sdcard so it points to the share that way ) youll need to compile the kernel and run that.
I think atm no one is daring to release much anything due to the fact that there's a lack of a real recovery method incase something really goes wrong.
I've seen all to well the horrors of the XDA community when something goes wrong... and I'd prefer my body not to be tied to a steak and burnt to a crisp
Busybox supports NFS mounting, this thread has some information about it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=718719
I'm at work right now, so I can't test it.
Simple Question:
Which ROM offers the possibility to install apps complete on the Micro SD Card instead of the internal drive?
And is it possible with this AICP 12.1?
thx, dj
Hm, maybe you can have a look into the Link2SD app. You can find it in the playstore.
But I do not believe that a ROM offers that for all, also sys apps. Because it is quite dangerous if there is no sd card anymore.
