[Q] Cleanest stock tmobile rom with wifi calling - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm getting my Defy back from Motorola RMA... and miss it's wifi-calling feature. Since it seems like there's not going to be a lot of luck on cm7 getting wifi-calling fixed, I'm trying to figure out which "custom" rom is the highest-performance, deblurred rom that's based on the stock ROMs so wifi-calling works? I noticed that there's a rom from jboogie3, but I can't seem to tell if wifi-calling works on it or not.
Someone was supposedly working on a vanilla ROM based on the tmobile froyo release, but I would assume that it's already on the back-burner since everyone is focused on gingerbread? I'm running cm7.1 on my nexus one during the repair, but I don't really find that much extra stuff going on in gingerbread that froyo didn't do.
Any recommendations?

Wifi calling is a must for me and this rom works nicely, it has blur but its not required, you can always use root uninstaller to uninstall all apps including the system ones. Adlxmod rocks for tmobile us users.

I'll check it out. Have you used this and compared against the jboogie ROM? I tried to go through the FAQ to find the list of apps to rename to remove all traces of blur... Do you have a list yourself?

I am currently using it, no issues at all. You can see my screenshots in the link i posted. I haven't used the one from jboggie. I dont have the list of apps i like the feature the feature that links your contact photos with facebook so im keeping blur for now, its not required to login to start the phone and as long you dont have the widgets you wont even tell its there

is it possible to enable time stamps in the camera

I am currently running the cm6 posted by darchstar on 8/15. I was wondering if there was anyway to enable time stamps for the photos taken with the included camera app.
of course i know i can download on of many camera apps from the market but since i don't need anything more than a time stamp, and honestly its not something i can't live without. i don't want to install another app just for something so trivial.
The default 2.1 HTC camera has a time stamp option. It works -- I just tried it. But it's in Sense-based ROMs
I see you're on CM6...so I don't know if you could just simply push or install the HTC camera via adb and have it work on AOSP? Not sure if it would need any of the Sense framework files for it to work or not. I feel like I remember seeing an earlier Sense-less ROM (I think Ic3Rom) using the HTC Camera just fine. If you try it, nandroid backup first of course.
Well I guess you can ignore my previous post. It appears that won't work -- this thread asked the very same question and the answer was no: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=757422
yea i tried pushing it already thought i would ask if there was a work around oh well its too good to give up just for a time stamp on a photo.

Weather problems

I'm using NAND build Gingerbread v1.5 (non CWmod) at my HD2. Everything works fine except any weather widget. I live in Poland. In previous SD based ROMs stock HD2 and modded both winmo and android it worked but in this ROM it doesn't.
Heve You guys nay similar problems solved or it is about develop build bug in this case?
From what I believe...all 3rd party location based apps are broken in the Gingerbread builds right now.
You can set the location manually and it should work fine...its just not going to "follow" you if you travel.
between that and a hand full of pretty important apps (to me anyhow) that are not yet Gingerbread compatible, I went back to froyo for the time being. Im sure the devs here and the app devs will have everything sorted out and running smooth here shortly.
For sure. I have in my mind that is some app which may don't work proper at this build. I hoped that some body got solution for this till now. When not, I can live without weather forecasts it is nothing important of course.

[Q] Native 2.3+ kernal Any updates

Ok so some apps widgets dont work unless there installed on phone and not moved to sd whats up with that?
cyanogen mod 7 is great but im finding a few bugs here and there or things that could do with tweaking who should i talk to about it?
Also i know some russian guys are working on a 2.3 native kernal or up not sure on exact details...... would this enable the personalization on google voice recognition currently this doesnt work and it would be good to be able to train the voice recognition even a patch on cyanogen mod to fix it would be good.
Also it seems like theres not to many people working on it is there a way we can put up a advert and get cyanogen mod and the russians some help with this there has to be programmers and such who are bored and need a challenge im trying to learn now but its gonna be years before i can do any of it even tho id like to help now.

Problem with quicksettings and toggles

Good day all!
I've been searching around and have been able to find a reason or solution to my problem and I'm wondering if I did something wrong. I have an AT&T S4 (i337) that I have unlocked and rooted and installed the i9505g 4.3 version. I really love the stock Google experience and was really into it until I noticed that in the menu I seem to be missing interface controls under the settings menu to add toggles to the quick settings. I haven't been able to determine if that's something I did wrong during installing the rom or I simply can't turn things like auto-rotate off on a stock google rom, though it seems very silly to me.
I was using a Task650 rom on the GS3 and I really liked it so I attempted to install an SGH-i337 Task650 rom on my phone, which works great and I get access to edit the toggles but the S-view case doesn't work on that rom since it isn't based on the stock google kernel for the i9505. I was wondering if someone could help point out my mistake on this one, or if we really don't have those toggle options and need to rely on 3rd party solution.
Cheers!

Finding the right ROM for me

so what i really like in my stock 4.4.2 is the knock on /off and I tried CM 10.2 but sadly I noticed I dont have knock off...
I want a simple rom...I like how nexus clean version of android looks and feels..I want a minimalistic rom...
I really liked the option in the oneplus one to drow a pattern when the screen is of and activate a certian app if theres a rom wich include it ill like to hear(I guess maybe CM 11 but I havent tried it yet becuse its still in nightly version)
I have a VS980, and I have flashed most of the ROMs available in the dev section for it. I don't believe that any AOSP-based ROM is going to have knock-off, so you would have to use one of the stock based (such as Malladus or XDABBEB). These in general aren't going to have minimalist look of AOSP based ROMs though.
Your other choice is to run an AOSP ROM with Xposed. I know that the Xposed GEL Settings module has an option to set double-tap to an action, though that may be a premium feature you have to donate to receive (which I recommend anyway, as it is an amazing module).

Paranoid Android has knock on + knock off (you have to use the notification bar; doesn't work anywhere else as far as I know).
The list of features is here: [Change Log] Paranoid Android [AOSPA]

yeah but i dont want to reach every time...and it wont be comftrable while driving for example
Another option, if you're OK with using a launcher other than the GEL, is to install the Apex launcher. I believe it gives you desktop knock off in its free version.
Using this launcher, you can use any ROM you'd like, as long as it provides knock on. I think most ROMs for the G2 provide that.

I think you should search for voice controlled apps and such. I don't know if Google Voice can help you.
