Weather problems - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I'm using NAND build Gingerbread v1.5 (non CWmod) at my HD2. Everything works fine except any weather widget. I live in Poland. In previous SD based ROMs stock HD2 and modded both winmo and android it worked but in this ROM it doesn't.
Heve You guys nay similar problems solved or it is about develop build bug in this case?

From what I believe...all 3rd party location based apps are broken in the Gingerbread builds right now.
You can set the location manually and it should work fine...its just not going to "follow" you if you travel.
between that and a hand full of pretty important apps (to me anyhow) that are not yet Gingerbread compatible, I went back to froyo for the time being. Im sure the devs here and the app devs will have everything sorted out and running smooth here shortly.

For sure. I have in my mind that is some app which may don't work proper at this build. I hoped that some body got solution for this till now. When not, I can live without weather forecasts it is nothing important of course.

xROM Android Port for the Vogue.

This is a port of JACxROM from the dream/g1. It's based on the stable android 1.5/cupcake AOSP from the master branch and 1.5r4 now includes some donut code as well. All resolutions should work with this build. It includes some htc frameworks and apps as well as the htc keyboard. Java is included in this build as well as exchange work email. It has a nice hero like theme done by manup. There are several hero like widgets included such as a flip style weather clock and several toggle switches. I've also included Loccy's Better Browser which is an enhanced version of the standard opensource android browser. The origional JACxROM1.X can be found in the dream forums.

This is the android 1.5 AOSP version with the hero themed launcher. Use it with the standard basefiles package at vogue-android.
JACxROM1.5r4c Beta for Vogue/Kaiser:
Download: xROM 1.5r4c bundle. from vogue-hero experimental page. You must use the latest basefiles. I've included Java in this build and the Biz Card Reader from hero. It also includes all the other htc apps in the last xROM including the htc music app. It's using Loccy's Better Browser with double tap zoom and Stericson's lock screen. It also has the Meltus v7 audio hack and the standard pre like xROM Advanced launcher which is themed by overground and maintained by irrenhaus and ported from rogro82's original Launcher.apk.
All credits for the original xROM go to just another crowd(jac), manup456, cyanogen, loccy, overground, irrenhaus and rogo82 from the dream forums.
Good job, Zanulator. It's a very nice theme! But I found one problem on the polaris: The headset icon is always displayed, but I never connected the headphone to the phone (it doesn't work yet on the polaris). Do you know how to solve this?
Thanks!!

The headphone icon is just there. It's not a bug it's an unusable feature .
Very nice - works well. Great idea splitting the threads for the diff builds.
I use xROM more than hero now. Until the next hero update comes or someone puts out a better themed cupcake/ion/donut I'll be using this.

Yea xROM2 was really JACxROM1.3 it was just the second version that I ported to the vogue thats the reason I called it xROM2. They updated to JACMANxROM1.4r3 so I just used the regular version numbers for this one to avoid confusion in the future.
Should it work on the Kaiser?
Because I can't get Wi-Fi nor the modem to connect, could you possibly put this system.img in a bundle with the other files you think should work best? I love the responsiveness of it otherwise, seems much faster and less crash prone than the hero builds.

I didn't add the wifi pieces in this build. I'll post one later on in a bundle.
Dude just installed, everything is awsome, except my lock screen is mirrored lol, I dunno how that happened, but it is like looking throught a piece of glass and everything is backward.
Everything else looks amazing though, thank you.

did you use a fresh data.img? i accidentally booted xrom with the data.img from cyanogenmod and everything was weird kinda cool but not quite right.
New XRom is great thanks Zenulator, only thing is that that weird headphone icon is in the taskbar, lol, i know that wasnt in the last XRom release so i'm guessing you somehow fixed it before?
this is a great build man, no crashes so far. zen, is there any way to make the "in call" volume louder when on a phone call? that's the only real annoying thing about our android builds. im shocked no one has fixed this or attempted to hack the audiopara. the rest of my volumes are very loud.
Hey zenulator, great work as always. A couple of things.
1. I know your stance on the camera program and it not working in your builds. However, for a daily use build, I think it is essential. I know that fxcamera works, but a) it takes two clicks to get to the camera, and b) the resolution is not that great. mssmison had the regular camera working in his hero themed ion, which seems very similar to this build in a lot of ways, I don't know if it would be compatible. I did try bringing the camera app over from one of the other builds, but I could not install it on this rom (and yes, I have "unknown sources" checked under applications).
2. no album - also essential, and yes we can get an album program from other places, but I think having all the basics on board on a daily use build like this should be standard.
Thanks again zen.

what do you mean by album? i can see all of my photos on my sd card? for the camera use pro paint camera, works great!
i figured this was a themed cupcake build and not a true hero rom.
is it true that using android the way we do will eventually ruin our sd cards? i could of swore i read that somewhere before? if it's true i probably won't use it much as i have alot of other important info on my card.

yes, themed cupcake build. yes, you can see all pics on your sd card, just need an album program (most builds there is one installed by default name Album or Gallery).

I have this headphone icon to. And I can't get a network connection? The modem app says i'm connected, but I can't login to google, can't download something from market.
Anyone else with this issue?
Edit: I did start with a fresh data file.

Navigation Volume too low

Hi guys, I have an issue with Sat Nav volume. I will try to break it down simply:
Sat Nav [CoPilot and Navigator tested]
Music app [PowerAMP and HTC Music tested]
Audio cable [3.5mm audio jack - plugged into car stereo]
Sound settings all full [set in Quick Settings and also manually set Navigation Volume when Google Navigator is running]
Audio is fine when any music app playing [with or without cable]
Audio is fine when any Sat Nav voice playing [with or without cable]
Audio is fine when any Sat Nav + any Music app both playing (music cuts out and voice becomes audible) [WITHOUT CABLE]
--- Sat Nav voices becomes too low to hear when both Sat Nav and Music playing with cable plugged in ---
This was working perfectly fine on stock HTC (both Froyo and GB) with kernel Buzz OCUV 1.0.6.
I have only seen this issue since flashing Android Revolution HD 5.1.9 > 5.1.10 > 5.1.11 . I have tried different kernels ( Stock ARHD > UnityV2 > UnityV3 ) and also retried Buzz OCUV 1.0.6 but the issue still remains.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be the problem?
Anybody have any ideas at all?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I've always had this issue too, All I have been doing is lower the music volume to half, set Navigation Volume to Full and then increase the car volume instead
According to google support forum, It looks like the issue is caused by GB 2.3.3, 2.3.2 does not have this problem so it seems downgrading is the only fix.
I have the same exact problem unfortunately.
I'm guessing you're using Google Navigation instead of HTC's Locations Premium Navigation?
I'm currently on 2.3.3, and I don't really have a problem with any bad navigation volumes. If you're not okay with paying to try out Locations Navigation, don't worry, you have a 1 month worldwide navigation license which you can activate and use for free without any restrictions.
Thanks for your 'input' Vious, but the issue remains no matter what satnav is used, premium or not.
It is a confirmed 2.3.3 issue with multiple threads on the google code forums

I hope they fix this soon. Such a GIGANTIC issue... i can't believe this isn't at all critical for them.
Same problem for me, Copilot support could not fix it for me also, claiming it was a problem with android not them. Used to work on Version 8.x.x.606
If this affects all versions of Android above 2.3.2 then it looks as if I have little choice but to buy an iphone or wp7 phone next, Google are unbelievable sometimes!
6 months and still no fix, I love Android and would hate to switch but this is a complete joke!!!

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to share my solution for this same problem that I've been having since upgrading to the new gingerbread. Note though that this is no longer an issue if you're using the latest google navigation app, but if you're like me and you like to use an offline nav app like CoPilot, then this solution should work for you.
Since this problem was introduced in gingerbread 2.3.3, I thought I would try replacing the libaudiopolicy.so library with one from a gingerbread 2.3.2 rom I had laying around and voila, that seemed to have solved the problem! I haven't tested this thoroughly, but it seems to be working so far. I hope this helps anyone else out there that is still suffering from this issue.
Could you post the file? Also, have you encountered any issues so far?
Perhaps post this in the previously mentioned google code pages for more testers....

Here you go! This one is for sense based roms.
No issues so far!!
Perhaps when I have a little bit more time, I'll post a link to this thread in those referenced google pages.

Nice one I'll give this a try
I presume the libaudiopolicy.so file you posted is from a Sense ROM, it didn't work for me as I'm running BlackIce which is CM based.
Downloaded an early CM7 nightly based on 2.2.3, copied that file over and it worked!
I have updated the previously referenced Google pages.
Attached is the CM7 2.3.2 libaudiopolicy.so if anyone wants it.

Thanks hexion, you see this is exactly what I have been trying to say all this time - it must be something slightly changed in some audio file somewhere between 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 . I just have no idea about Linux / Android so never knew where to look for such things.
Now all we need is to compare these to see where the changes lie and try to patch the most current libaudiopolicy.so with only the previous Navigation settings, leaving all other new things as is.

Hey rgrover, I'm also on CM7.1 Nightly. I tried renaming old file to libaudiopolicy.so.bak and copied the file you supplied into system/lib but now my device will not load past white HTC screen after reboot. Any advice?
UPDATE: it's OK it seems it was just a permissions problem. Everything working fine now
Hexion, you f**king treat !
My DHD is now pure perfection, with CM7.1 installed and this Sat Nav fix. Everything works at it should and I need nothing else from a phone (apart from battery life, but hopefully I can get Daemon Controller on CM7 at some point with better kernel).
If I had mone I would buy you a bottle JD (actually I would buuy myself one lol, maybe share with you XD )
Apparently, this fix for sat nav apps does not work for Google Navigation and TuneInRadio according to chykal1 on the google page. Music will not be lowered when the nav voice comes on. So if you use TuneInRadio a lot, you probably shouldn't apply this fix. Maybe when someone patches the latest libaudiopolicy.so, then we'll have a true solution.

[Q] Cleanest stock tmobile rom with wifi calling

So I'm getting my Defy back from Motorola RMA... and miss it's wifi-calling feature. Since it seems like there's not going to be a lot of luck on cm7 getting wifi-calling fixed, I'm trying to figure out which "custom" rom is the highest-performance, deblurred rom that's based on the stock ROMs so wifi-calling works? I noticed that there's a rom from jboogie3, but I can't seem to tell if wifi-calling works on it or not.
Someone was supposedly working on a vanilla ROM based on the tmobile froyo release, but I would assume that it's already on the back-burner since everyone is focused on gingerbread? I'm running cm7.1 on my nexus one during the repair, but I don't really find that much extra stuff going on in gingerbread that froyo didn't do.
Any recommendations?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037277
Wifi calling is a must for me and this rom works nicely, it has blur but its not required, you can always use root uninstaller to uninstall all apps including the system ones. Adlxmod rocks for tmobile us users.
I'll check it out. Have you used this and compared against the jboogie ROM? I tried to go through the FAQ to find the list of apps to rename to remove all traces of blur... Do you have a list yourself?
I am currently using it, no issues at all. You can see my screenshots in the link i posted. I haven't used the one from jboggie. I dont have the list of apps i like the feature the feature that links your contact photos with facebook so im keeping blur for now, its not required to login to start the phone and as long you dont have the widgets you wont even tell its there

Oreo and Android Auto

Anyone using Android Auto with the Oreo ROM? Wondering if there are any issues or if Waze and Dialer will work properly now?
Rebranded to L29-C432 so might as well give a few more things a try, but the fRomFuture ROM I'm using is pretty stable so want to check before I jump to another...

I'm currently using it, the dialer issue is still there (I am using the modded Google dialer from Martin.077 to solve that problem).
Waze behaves the same for me as before - works fine for about a month, sometimes longer, and then one day just black screens and then the only fix is to re-install Android Auto.
I now also have a new problem with Google Play Music with the Oreo update - it does not output any sound when connected via Android Auto. Navigation prompts still work though.
The fix is to use an equalizer app - no idea why it works, but it does, I'm using Equalizer FX.
So yeah, no issues solved, and one additional one added in my case.
