Hi,
I've damaged the physical keyboard of MS2 - by spilling a cup of tea.
After leaving it powered off for a couple of weeks - the phone seems to work pretty well for now.
The only problem I have is that a few keys on the physical keyboard constantly have incorrect values when pressed.
Pressing
q -> q2
w -> 4w
e -> 1e
a -> 8a
d -> 9d
x -> 5x
left shift -> &
I've recently moved from Cm7 to MIUI so I dont think Its a ROM problem.
Is there anyway to remap the keys? Or does anyone have any other ideas.

Sounds like a hardware internal wiring problem. Not much you can do. Perhaps try getting it repaired.

thanks for the reply.
Yeah I think it is a hardware problem.

Hello,
I have an XDA Neo from O2 Germany and I have problems with the hardware buttons. The soft key button doesn't work anymore, the start button activates the start menu only after a few pushes. The problem appeared a week ago. The funny thing is, I had similar problems with my XDA Mini S 4 months ago. I'm using the Dopod WWE ROM from the crossvendor thread below. I reinstalled it but nothing helps. And when I was having the problems with the Mini S, I hadn't changed the OS. Is there anything that can be done? Is it indoubtedly a hardware problem?
Hm... it seems that it's because of some dust underneath. If I push the buttons stronger, they work. Is there an easy way to open the device and clean it?
P.S. Still, the Green (dial) button doesn't work at all
Sometimes i cannot unlock my HTC HD2 with the slider...
I have a video with this effect:

Whats wrong with my HD2 ?
its a dead touch display. Mine did the same on friday, so its on it way back for a service.
if u notice your display does not respond to you touching it. It turns down the ligth after a few seconds and it should go back up when you touch it. But it does not sence you doing that.
So send it back for a fix under warrenty.
Before you do try a realignment of the screen.
I have the exact same problem! Its been buggin me for weeks, been too lazy to return it yet.
Actually i think its a connector problem to the digitizer, i have found that if you give the HD2 a thud with your hand or launch it into your bed the digitizer will work correctly for a while.

Where is that option?
Start -> Settings -> Menu -> All Settings -> Settings -> Screen
But - i had HD2 with lost sensitivity on left side (~1cm of screen was insensitive at all) from 1st day after buy. Covered by warranty, fixed (seems i got the same phone - S/N, IMEI, firmware version, just did hard reset).

similar problem here, the difference is that my slider can move to either left or right as normal but the mobile cannot be unlocked. I have to do the soft reset to use it.
See my footer. My HD2 touch screen died totAlly this week. Was an import 9193 so no warranty. I'm waiting. For the Desire HD now, so got two little Aria for a bit.

I installed Nand Android on my HD2 like 4 months ago...
I loved it and still do but since last few days I am having an unresponsive touchscreen problem.
The problem occurs only when the screen is locked and i try to unlock it. i haven't setup any password or pattern to unlock the phone..its just the standard unlocking.
Well i generally have habit to press the green button to activate the screen and then i unlock the phone by sliding the slider. But now it doesn't work infact out of the four hardware buttons it only works with the HOME button and that also rarely.
It is definitely not the hardware problem because once i unlock it, there is no problem whatsoever with the touchscreen.
SO i was wondering if anybody has the same issue and might have figured it out.
Thanks for your time!!
Generally that is a sign that the touchscreen digitizer is going out.
If it's under warranty, reflash back to stock and undo HSPL. T mobile USA sent me a brand new hd2 when my touchscreen went out and starting acting like this. I bought mine off Craigslist and has warranty through 10/2011.

Try and see if the configuration is still intact. Should be somewhere here:
/system/usr/keylayout/htcleo-keypad.kl
And should contain:
key 116 POWER WAKE
key 115 VOLUME_UP
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN
key 158 BACK
key 102 HOME WAKE
key 229 MENU
key 59 MENU
key 139 MENU
key 127 SEARCH
key 217 SEARCH

posted on Q&A, this has alot to do with what im dealing with..... my screen went out, i need to put the old rom back on for my T-moble warranty... all the guides show to enable usb, but i cant touch it. my friend originally hacked it and gave me a thumb drive with a "copy of my phone" to revert to original..i dont know what he did..... i have alot of pieces and not sure how to get it all together
Like the topic says my hardware keyboard is not working. My e, d, x, i, and l keys do not do anything when pressed. Reset didn't fix. The touch keyboard works but i got this hone for the hardware keyboard and now i wish i just waited for the titan.
Anybody experiencing similar issues? Does anybody know how to fix it?

This is something you need to call Dell about.
Around July/August of last year I had my spacebar stop working and I had to have my phone replaced. I've got a couple keys going again now but my warranty is up. Getting pretty quick using the touch keyboard!
Hi,
I am having the same problem..mine y u h j b n keys are gone..u got any solution?
Thanks,
Vatsal
Glad to see there are more people experiencing this kind of problem. I have my Desire Z now for more then a year and my hardware keyboard keys started to be unresponsive from time to time or type double letters. Only thing I can think about the is dirt under the keys. Found this post and may be this can be the solution and worth trying: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377294 I think I wil give it a try :good:
Hello,
is there a possibility for "slide" the Sensorkeys / Touchscreen to wake up the Device or go into sleep?
So how does it work on the HTC One and Nexus.
Greeting
The s4 has a physical button between 2 virtual ones,so nop you cant have s2w,just use the physical one to wake it
