Get rid of "low on space" icon? - Legend General

Hello,
Simple question: I have over 18mb left on my Legend, but still the "low on space" icon is in my menu bar all the time. I moved all the possible apps to the sd card. Anyway to remove the icon?

The icon dissapear when free space more 20 mb.

Even if you could get rid of it, you shouldn't just leave it low on space. Critical sync functions are disabled when low on space, like Gmail sync if that's your primary e-mail client.

Install one of the custom roms, you will have more memory to play with.

I wish I could but downgrading and rooting a HTC Legend seems like a very difficult job. I tried a few times, but with no success :'(

Interesting development:
I did a factory reset on the phone and installed all the same apps (via app2sd) and now I have over 60 mb of free space. And a better working phone.

Market programs install unsuccesfull

I tried to install some apps through market but every install is imidiatly failed.
The programs are random.
Anyone else with the same problem?

I have this problem a lot. Only solution I've read is to wipe the data of Download Manager with an app like Titanium Backup.
Though I also sometimes get the insufficient storage space error. Which remedies itself after a second try or so. Good luck. gingerbread sucks like this.

I get this one all the time too.
Sometimes it happens with me to but its random and I just have to try again and then it works...
Quite often I get the "insufficient storage" error when I have plenty of storage left. Like the other poster said, a re-try or two usually does the trick.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the ext4 mod? Are you guys using that as well?

I'm not using the ext4 mod and I still get the error intermittently.
I'm not a code guy, so I don't know if the Nexus S experiences any download errors other phones don't, but I know the hanging download and insufficient storage bugs are Android bugs, not specifically Nexus S bugs. I've seen them on every phone I've played with running 2.2 or later.
I tried yesterday 5 apps and all install unsuccesfull. All 5 in a row. Went to bed and now i try to update hmail. Still same problem.
Please help

It happens to me since 1 week or 2, too... almost every time I try to install/upgrade an application it fails (insufficient storage), I have to retry 1-2 times.
I never had the problem before. I'm on stock rom, rooted, CW recovery
I got it solved by removing the updates of the market program and a restart

Directly after start-up I have 270 MB, probably 280 without some apps that start up automatically like whatsapp.
Edit: I did delete most widgets, just left the one for music.

well i dont have any of those ****ty widgets running and only really use one homescreen. dont have many apps running as services either apart from whatsapp. i do tend to kill stuff like EventManager and SetupWizard that like to pop back up in running services from time to time. saves about 15-25mb.

I know titanium backup can freeze apps from starting up, but you have to be rooted. Hopefully the play gets root soon

Low on space error

I'm getting an alert that phone's storage space is getting low. 255mb used and 55mb free. I store every app I can on the sd card.
Anybody know what I can do?

Clean your internet cache ?
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
is there any way to do that for all at once or do I have to do that application by application?
I find that App2SD (free on market) is really useful for clearing any cache, probably has a good chance of fixing your issue aswell as checking that all your apps that can be moved are moved
done that. but nothing changes. still only 34MB available after clearing all cache. and still get the warning notification in the drop down bar.
You could try a cleaning app such as android optimize tool it's developed by a member overhere
you can find it in the forums or on the market (free).

it won't even let me install that app. not enough memory left.
can u install disk usage from market and let me know whats occupying more space on ur device(if possible attach screen shot)? also let me know if ur device is rooted ??
will do that right now. gotta charge it first.
device is not rooted. just updated from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 then installed swiftkey x and got the error message. deleted a few apps that can only be stored on the phone's memory and still getting the error. i'll do the disk usage shortly.
Without root cant really take screenshots.

Try LINK to sd, on the market. You'll need to partition your sd card-Google it-but it'll sort that out.

that's good if you have root.
you may have to resort to a wipe. this once happened to me with my htc desire, a wipe was all that fixed it
anyone got any more tips to solve this?
got this message on mine, deleted a load of apps, photos, internet cache etc but still got the error message.
really annoying as I can't download or update any apps!
Thought I might as well reply to myself.
The low storage space on my arc was casued by downloading all my emails. If you wait the list of apps on storage used screen will reorgnaise into spaced used order. I deleted all old emails and the problem was fixed.
Now my arc is running really slow. Anyone know how to solve that
Try a cache cleaner from the market.

Constant systemui FCs?

Does any one else experience constant FCs with the systemui process? I get it nearly every single time I use tweetdeck. Rarely in other places. It's a pain because the notification bar with its softkeys vanish and requires a hard reboot.

if the sd card, what kind do you have?

Sorry, don't use MUI so have no clue, but you might want to put that in the thread title so people using it read it.....
Have you tried fixing permissions? That usually fixes force close problems.

I am not using MUI. Where'd you get that from?
It's on the sd card, samdisk 8g class 4 (I did my homework), and I did try running the fix_permissions, but for some reason tweetdeck still throws an FC say half the time.

I saw systemui in the title so I misinterpreted that to mean you were using MUI.
What version of Tweetdeck are you using? The current version in the market is 1.0.7.3 and one of the updates is "fix rare crashes". I also note it reads the phone state, which we do not have. Has this ever worked on your Nook? You could try modifying the permissions by turning that part off.

I'm using the latest version of TweetDeck. I keep the market apps updated when they become available.
TweetDeck works great on the Nook, it's just half the time I enter it, I get a systemui FC (which is the notification bar). Once that happens, I lose the soft-keys and my notification bar. There's no way to do "back", "menu" or any of that then. End up having to restart the nook to get the softkeys/noti-bar back. When the systemui FCs, everything else works fine - tweetdeck still does its thing, i am just now missing my notibar/softkeys at the bottom. The NC continues to operate fine (I can go to the N/home button and continue using the screens, the app drawer, etc - just lost my noti/softkeys).
SOMETIMES, the system reloads it. Maybe 5% of the time when it FCs the systemui - about 2 seconds later it magically re-appears.
No other app or action on the NC gives me this crash, so I'm not entirely sure what is causing it. If I was getting random FCs elsewhere, I'd start thinking the SD card - but for all intents and purposes, the thing runs solid on the card. I use it for Netflix, DLNA apps to control my laptop and blu-ray players, Angry Birds, N64 and SNES ROMs, Google Music beta - and it's all champs.
Something about TweetDeck, though, is causing this silly systemui crash on me.
I've never had any other issues with apps that read "phone state" (and assumed that its that reason why we still have dialer and phone apps installed on our builds, so those apps won't crash).
Heck, I don't even freeze anything - it's a base CM7 install, no special tweaks. I even tried installing the Notification Restart app which is supposed to restart the notification bar - and that doesn't do a damned thing.

No, the reason is that CM7 was developed to run on a lot of different platforms so we get everything whether it is needed or not. I'm not saying it will work, but try killing the phone permissions.

CM7 is, yes - the specific ports, no. The Nook Color CM7 build (encore) keeps the camera, phone, etc - in there because some market apps, and market themselves won't work without them.

Internal storage left pop-up

So I have this pop-up ( https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3kAm0MqKUNzcEVSYTdYSjdJcnc/edit?usp=sharing ) I want to turn it off, because it annoys me, when apps update it keeps disturbing me, pauses apps, gets in front of screen, really annoying when you have 10 apps that need to update, can't use the phone normally at that time.
Anyone know if this is System related or is it an app doing this, and can you disable it? I don't remember having it before, I don't think that I did.

btw - you have 8gb or 16gb?
Do you have ES File Explorer installed. There exists a bug. If you do, make sure you have display low space error unticked in display settings. For some people, it still displays. It is supposed to be fixed in the next release.

I had that App once, but it deleted local data from one game and I had to re-download it to be able to use cloud back-up, good thing I had that.
I have difficulties with lack of free space with 16gb, I can't imagine how bad it is with 8gb, I have to keep my iPod because my Nexus doesn't have enough space for all the music.

I do, indeed. I thought it might be that app, I checked 3 times for all the settings at the app to see if there is not a feature that might make the pop-up.
I have it unticked already, so I guess I will have to wait for the update. Thanks!
