I was able to see it when the OP first posted...it was indeed a website selling the Note for $220...but as the OP said, it looked like a fraud. If it was legit, it would make more sense for it to be a on contract price, but the page did not seam to specify a location or carrier.

That site is thrown together. I don't get it but I want another one for my wife
It shows paypal and stuff but wants you to create an account. Fishy

Scammers, no doubt about it. The Note's gotta cost more than $220 to manufacture. They offer the iPhone 4S for ~$200 and you KNOW they don't have a source for them at a price lower than that. Any time you see someone offering a device for 1/3 the actual cost you know it's a scam, unless it's someone on craigslist who doesn't know the value of their device.

anyone want to sell their atrix 4g box?

I sold my atrix on ebay and forgot to mention there was no box included so i got this idiot thats wanting me to pay 40$ for him to ship it back plus he will prob leave negative feedback which i would like to avoid..
thanks guys
I have an extra one. Lost my first Atrix on a plane. PM me and I will send it to you for free.
If you didn't state that the Atrix is sold with it's original box, you don't need to worry. Just tell him that since it's not in the description, then he can't have one - that's all there is to it.
You can have mine for free if you want... If you live around LA.

That's how I list my items... "If the items's not listed, it's not coming with it."
Unless I'm buying... That's how I got a free 16GB Micro SD with my Motorola Droid... xD
Agreed with knutars. Ebay can be a mess if you don't know its rules. If buyer received what was shown and described on listing then he is stuck with it. So don't worry if you did not mention the box was not included.

Exactly as the others said. Wasn't mentioned, so it isn't required. That's the way eBay will see it too, if he does submit negative feedback and such. Not to mention the fact that i've yet to see an eBay auction where you aren't capable of asking the seller a question. It was his own assumption that the box was provided. You're not in the wrong in any way, and he's just trying to get some money out of you.
$40? International buyer? or is that just his form of an "i'm an idiot" fee?
If I remember correctly, the box has a sticker with the phone's IMEI, MEID, S/N and other phone specific info. So, i don't know if someone else's box will solve your problems.
But yeah, like others said, if the box wasn't mentioned in the auction description and especially if your item was listed as "returns not accepted". Then there's nothing he can complain about.

wouldn't eBay null the negative feedback from a situation like this?
EBay do not get involved in my long experience. :-(
Can still post a comment about the negative feedback, making him look like a moron. I mean seriously.... he wants you to pay HIM an extra $40 to send the phone back to you.... i'm assuming on top of what he already paid for the phone? That just sounds like a scam to me. And who's to say you'd actually get the phone back. For all you know he'd send you a rock, or a broken phone, and you'd probably wind up SoL.

[Q] Price too good to be true?

Hey guys,
I have been a XDA lurker for a while. I am looking at getting the P6800. I seemed to have found a site that is offering to import it at a wholesale price. It all seems fishy to me but I figured I would see what all of you had to say...
Ummmmmm
I think that website is 100% authentic. I would jump on it before they are gone!
what is the site?
Exactly my point in my reply...
I have some nice land for sale in Florida .... great deal too...
Sent from my GT-P6810 using Tapatalk
So whats the name of the site? I got mine from one in Hong Kong at a really cheap price
I dunno, this seems a bit fishy. First post to XDA and asking for people to check out a website....Good thing they can't post links yet.

You could be right, it may be an employee looking to get people talking about there products or drum up some bushiness! But they did join in 2009.
But to be fair i very rarely post as I am not as well endowed as many on here (with the skills needed for dev work that is and I don't look forward to being flamed), i have bought my device from HK, quick delivery and having followed the guidance on another forum can confirm its genuine, Samsung accepted it on my product account, tested perfect and everything people ask. The one thing I did note was the description on the package for customs, again reading elsewhere, it may get held up but the owners of the website say there paying import duty, hope this helps.
Haha, sorry guy's being new I was only allowed to post every 5 minutes or something like that. Basically I got distracted...

at 230 bucks for a 3g model is probably too good to be true, this tablet probably costs more than 200 bucks to manufacture alone, so at 230 I doubt it. googling reveals this
http://www.scamadviser.com/is-buyingstore.co.uk-safe.html
Oh, yeah. That's gotta be bull****.
Its so tempting. I have thought about using my credit card so it would be easier to dispute the charges if fake.
It look just enough like amazon not to get sued
did you decide to order from here in the end?
There is a zero percent chance that that is legit. The price is way too low and I'm willing to bet they don't have a good way of contacting them.
It's not worth the risk. If you really want one then look for a more reputable site.
I am still waiting for my income tax return but I have decided that I will be going with a reputable source.
Thank you guy's for your input.
Agree its not worth the risk, thanks for the input.
Really like this device but cant help but hold out to see if the google tab becomes a reality
I may buy one from HK, I need the Calling features, and from HK they're about 600

Win a free Galaxy Nexus (unlocked)

Hi. PiBackup is offering a free Galaxy Nexus (unlocked).
Now it will not be fair to the XDA community if I don't disclose my interest in the company. I am one of the early investors and someday I hope to reap some rewards. Someday
Now I will try to introduce PiBackup to you guys. Though marketing is not my strong point, I will try
PiBackup provides unlimited data backup for a very low price. You can find out more at the website. This was an invite only program which has now gone public. To celebrate this, one brand new Galaxy Nexus is up for grabs, along with 3 free annual accounts. There is a small list of terms & conditions of course.
More offer details can be found at http://pibackup.com/offer
Now, as an investor I can get a promo code with 10% discount exclusively for XDA members and their family/friends. However, I will need at least 10 confirmations before I can do this.
UPDATE: 2 likes, 1 interest = Counted as 3 confirmations. 7 to go before I can get the promo code created.
P.S. If this advertisement(?!) is against the XDA policy, the mods can modify accordingly or delete this.
Wouldn't say it's "free" since you have to sign up for your services in order to win.
@mbh87: Well, you are paying for a different service. However, if you win the Nexus it will be free!
must be resident of usa... im not
@lokenok: Sorry, the GN offer is only for US residents. However, free backup accounts are for grab from (almost) anywhere.
No takers? I need a least 10 of you to help me out here to get the XDA promo code made.
So wen does this contest take place/how does it wotk because I want a gn n I'm willing to ppay that thirty

The contest is open to all subscribers, but GN offer is for US only due to logistics problems; please see T&C for more info. The draw will be done randomly using an automated system and the winners will be chosen on 15th of July. The site is also updated with this info.
P.S So far 1 like and 1 interest. I am counting this as 2 total interests. I still need 8 more to get a 10% XDA special discount code made.
Besides signing up for something, what's the catch? You take our personal information and sell it just like every other company out there.

What? NO! What go into your mind No information is ever passed to a third party. Even PiBackup employees don't even access to backed up data as they're encrypted. Besides, I am not even an employee but an investor.
Also, there is no catch. Everything is mentioned in the offer's T&C. Please don't judge without checking out facts. None of customers have complained so far about our service let alone selling their info!
I just wanted to share this in XDA as I am with community since Jan 2011 and I had hoped to do something for the community by sharing a code which they can use or distribute to get a discount on subscriptions (this is how we earn).
If anyone else has any concerns, please let me know and I will try to address them asap.

I love scammers

So I was considering selling my Note and purchasing the new Google tablet for my wife and saving any left over money towards the Note 2. I was in no hurry to sell and was more or less just testing the waters. Anyway, I posted it on Craigslist because I wanted to sell it locally and wanted to deal with someone in person to avoid any hassle or scams.
I receive a text this morning from someone wanting to purchase my phone. The beauty of it is they offer me $100 more than I am asking and want me to ship the phone to their pastor who is doing missionary work in Nigeria. Really?
I looked up the phone number they texted me from and it is a North Carolina area code, so I am not sure what is going on here. Why not ship it yourself, etc.....
I think I am going to have a little fun with this person.
I will take suggestions on possible questions to ask this person or ideas to have fun with them
Yeah that happens to me ALL the time and it's always the SAME story. Makes me very hesitant to post on craigslist. These guys are so easy to spot that it's irritating. Anyway, good luck trying to sell your Note!
You're selling, right? Why do you care if he is a scammer or not? Just ship the phone wherever he wants once you receive the money.
is it this guy ???

Because they almost always insist on paying via paypal...and then they reverse the payment when the item has been sent....or they send fake paypal invoices/receipts...

It reminds me of all the emails I get from the Nigeria or Kenya guys about how they inherited ten million dollars and I will get 2 million if I help them by putting it in my account in the US because of this and that. I get one of those every so often in my gmail and it is quite funny because they are so serious. Sometimes I will reply and they will actually reply and the funny part is I saw on the news that some people actually fall for this **** and lose their life savings. I can not believe people actually do this. To think someone would actually email someone their bank account info or send them a check or something is insane
If you want to have a good laugh, then take a look at this: http://www.419eater.com/html/john_boko.htm
why is it always Nigeria... in every country... Nigerian goverment fix pleazzz

NEVER ship to Nigeria! It's always a scam. Either the paypal mentioned or false money orders.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
You scam the scammer! Do something in reverse so that they'll be the one who'll give you money. Haha
Just a suggestion though.

you send the phone, they delay and delay and you never see your phone or money again
yeah ! these people in nigeria live like kings !
a 3rd world country with people wearing trees as clothing, yet they have a $400 smartphone!
If he's in such a rush for a phone, go buy a crappy £15 PAYG phone !
Email him back and say thank you for your interest.
In order to expedite your order please send the money via western union

Only someone stupid will ship a product before receiving the payment.
I always get the ones that have bunch crap to trade, I swear the stuff must have come from their neighbor's trash on moving day. When I was selling a MacBook Air, some guy claimed to be pastor and wanted make payments. I said "Sure, one payment of $799 and a second payment of $1."
I had one like that except they offer 200 dollars more and made a fake paypal unique transaction id in a email. Ship first in order to recieve your money yeah right lol

Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus - $10

Normally, I'd explain this fully, but I'm just going to post a link to slick deals here instead. If one of the staff members frowns upon that, then sorry in advance.
Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus - $10 (regular price $500)
EDITS:
As a side note here, this is 100% at your own risk. Some others have made comments about the possibility of MS revoking the licenses and leaving you high and dry. On the flip side, this is the exact same code from 2010 when the exact same thing happened. They didn't fix it then, and I doubt they're going to fix it now. If you need reassurance, I can assure you that every single one of the 2010 Office licenses I bought three years ago still work perfectly fine. So there you have both sides. It's up to you. This is a good deal, but no one is twisting your arm.
Worst case scenario is they pull your license. If that happens, dispute the charge with your credit card company and show proof of payment to get your refund. If you're thinking of buying 100 licenses to resell them at $500 a piece, think again. They average $20 on eBay.
Also, don't think for a second that you're cheating some company somewhere out of millions of dollars in license fees. The company codes are for bulk volume licensing. It's basically a perk of the partnership with MS, so they aren't paying the other share of your discount. Just FYI, as many people were complaining about this in the slick deals thread.
I can confirm that, I bought one code for $10 and work fine. I don't care if deactivate my key. anyway thank you.
Any benefits if 2013 over 2010? Other than metro mode
