rebooted computer and phone more than 10 times, took out sim card, updated computer device driver. tried on different PCs. damn, the weird error code just persisted.
why couldn't those stupid Zune developers add more descriptive error message for troubleshooting? pulling my hair.
any other suggestions? is there a update cab sender cab for this ISV Beta Cleanup update?

Hi there, I think you will have more chances to find a solution if you post in the HD2 Windows 7 section. THis is the Android side of the force

strange question friend very strange. the language and country of your system?
Have you upgraded the drivers from the htc web site ?
sp1 did not show up for me untill I had upgraded the drivers.
Microsoft identifies some conditions where SP1 doesn't show in Windows Update. I had the same problem. There are two versions of SP1 available thru Microsoft update web site dedicated for 32 bit Vista Business depending on your OS language. Spending 2 minutes with Google you'd find it quicker then posting your question. Note the file is more than 400MB and install takes some time. My Vista is stable afterwards, however still hasn't fixed my vanishing WLAN Marvell Device w/Bluetooth.
Regarding WLAN/BT problems maybe anyone has faced same problem? WLAN is simply not found on Device Manager list although latest WLAN Marvell drivers are installed. Funny thing is that during drivers installation, both devices appears on the Device list for 5-10 seconds (up&running) and dissapears right before installation process ends asking for restart. after restart no devices at all again... tried replacing sdbus.sys sd8686.sys with older 2007y version, no change. anyway keep fighting...

Not yet...I am doing it now, however I have a problem now.
Before I installed finger sensor driver, I have got a message to remove the old version, then I did and reinstalled the new one.
Now before I log in to Windows, I always get this strange message, what to do?
Access violation at address 00409D0C in module 'CompPtcVUI.exe' Read of address 000000B8
Thanks
Hey are you reinstalling drivers only to see SP1 in Windows Update? tricky my friend...
if yes I'd rather suggest shortcut to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6D-5EBB-413B-89C9-CB3D06D12674&displaylang=en
however read that driver's upgrade is worth considering before SP1 installation, which (SP1) on some Shifts runs fine while on others simply spoils things...
read the same about latest HTC drivers )
hope both htc and MS updates will just be fine on your unit. greetz
im having trouble loading XAP files to my HD2, i have the tom's installer and they load onto the phone that appears on the computer but when you go and click on each item to install they all have a different reason for not loading some talk about dll files and the camera give a longer error message. i would like to get this all fixed before i try and load the android onto the phone thanks for your help. i used the Tech1 Easy DWI Installer to get wp7 on my phone.
I dont know what camera is in the WP7 file that i loaded but it seams to work fine there is a list of XAP on the HTC HD2 site that i have tried with no luck.
Thanks for any help
anyone able to help
I can't install .xap too, but for me the Tom Xap installer gives mee an error saying to check the Phone is unlocked & Zune is launched.
& i checked on the phone, app isn't here.
When i installed the Rom the 1st time, Zune made 2updates itself, maybe it's the cause. (But i updated with DEV_UNLOCK.cab)
So i wonder if i've to reflash? due to encrypting of the SD card, there wont be any issue?
you must do hard reset after upgrade to Mango RTM.... go to Settings, About, Reset
I was getting the check phone to make sure it was unlocked error also i think what took care of that problem was in the tom's i checked the emulator instead of device.
[solved] XAP can't sideload
It missed the hardreset after the first installation as well. But it's essencial and everything works afterwards perfectly!!! Nice
Hi
I have done the reset after installation, but still cant load xap files.
Tried with Toms but it gives back an error "phone not connected ....."
When I look in the meny on the phoneAdvanced config is there but when I try to execute
I closes after 5sec.
Anyone Please.
Sorry for my bad English

So it's out, but only for some users.
Im currently with NODO and doest want to mess with the back to the future procedure.
Zune tells me my phone is up to date.
I have tried the disconnect trick - no success.
Anyone here managed to get it to work?
I'm in the same position, same phone set up and rom, just tried the Zune trick about 30 times and no joy. Am UK based on Virgin. The suspense is killing me
Me too
I've tried the trick with both with WIFI, and Cellular stick several times.
I'm from Israel on Orange.
Do you think carriers have something to do with that?
same here US T-Mobile
The "back to future" process has been simplified making it less risky if i may put. I wasn't too sure of myself either whether i could get it done. But then after several reviews found it simple and got it running.

What exactly do you mean by simplified? I installed Back to the Future V 2.0 and connected to Zune and let it update to 7392. I didn't want to mess around with all that other stuff. It was too confusing and I decided to just wait for the official release. So, since I just have 7392, which I installed via Zune, over the foundation of Back to the Future ROM, I assume that I will be able to update to Mango via Zune too...am I right here?
Goy it!
I was missing 2 things:
1. Device provisioning cab
2. patiance at the 6th step (Restarting) it takes alot of time
I don't know if this is a help to your problem but try to change your location to the US in zune profile. I did this and got no problem updating the rom through Zune.

Yes you are right but since I didn't opt for that I can say much about that.
This is what i did to get to 7720 RTM Yuki-Xbmod
since you are on 7392 i believe you know the beginning.
What you need:
Yuki native v2 (7004)
7004-7720 (one shot)
wp7 update cab sender.zip(wp7 cabsenderwinxpfix.zip -if you're using win xp-read further on this in the thread)
Device provisioning.cab
You must have zune
All in first post of Yuki-Xbmod "Back to Future"
Steps:
1.Install Yuki native v2 (7004)
2.Follow on screen instructions and set time zone, date and time.
NB:make sure it corresponds to that on the PC
3.leave the phone on don't power off, connect USB from PC to phone-
**Time to install 7720**
4.At PC, enter wp7 update cab sender folder
5.Go to "if needed install this tool" folder
6.Install setup - update wp(x64 for 64bits windows or x86 for 32bits windows)
NB:You can verify this at the Device manager on the PC
7.Copy device provisioning.cab to wp7-update-cab sender folder. Important,please don't extract this(device provisioning cab)
8.Run wp7 update cab sender.bat
9.Then on the PC keyboard, type s-(s)end cabs to device
10.After finished installing close wp7 update cab sender
11.Delete device provisioning.cab (ie. the one you copied into wp7 update cab sender)
12.Open wp7 7004-7720-patch.zip
13.Copy all the cab files to wp7 update cab sender folder
14.Run wp7 update cab.sender.bat again
15.As usual type s-(s)end cabs to device
NB:I believe it depends on you SD Card it should take about 1hr to 2hrs. In my case 1hr.
16.After installation reset your phone (ie. Go to about) it's important.
17. YOU ARE DONE. YOU NOW HAVE RTM 7720 YUKI-XBMOD
You can now proceed to do the official thing if you like.

First It's stated in the Back to Future threads that others have same issues. I think I even saw a post with tweeter link stating you can't get it done with 7392.
Second,I'll advise you start with stock Rom.Safety First. Try and get the SD card unlocked and formatted and follow the earlier guide and I bet you'll in no time have Yuki-Xboxmod RTM 7720.
And my SD Card was in phone from beginning to end. No problem at all.

Error 800B010A - You can try this
Heya,
I tried to update our beloved HD2 today...well I got the dammit 800B010A error all the time (approx. 15 times). I tried the USB update thingy but no success.
If there are still people out there who are struggling with the error:
After checking for USB drivers you can try to:
1. Take out your SIM card!
2. Increase the "reserved space/storage"! (I'm on german zune, so I don`t know the correct wording). You find this when you are in Zune (on Desktop PC) under Device - Settings.
At least the update directly worked for me after increasing the space from 5% to 15%.
Take care.
Ric
What to do?
Doesn't work for me, it just gives an error code and stops at "preparing to install" - step 5 out of 9.
Hopefully a solution will be found.
this update work for me, I can get my HD2 cleaned after installing this
Did you search at all before posting this new thread?

In that thread is your answer.

It is very easy. You should disable the antivirus and firewall off windows. Try again and it works.

YES, they do. It took me some 5 minutes to complete the whole process. I don't see any difference though.
Error 800B010A
Some touble here. All the time Error 800B010A.
Increased reserved space.
Took out SIM card.
USB driver is updated.
Somebody?
Edit: Just rebooting computer and phone did it in the end. Don't know why.
- Spent like 24 hours to install this update and finally got installed at 3am yesterday
- Noticed that Battery drain is fixed after installing ISV cleanup update for some reason (left phone running rest of the time while writing this and it seems 3ma while 2G enabled)
- Here are my steps (From scratch):
- Unlocked my sd card using cabs from xbox
- Removed the sd card and installed WM 6.5 and booted the phone completely
- Formatted sd card on windows 7 laptop using diskpart and SDFormatter utility (Sandisk Class 2 8GB)
- installed magldr 1.13 and enabled 24MB from the services menu
- installed native rom v2 from yuki & xbox
- installed updates from zune upto 7395
- Once 7395 installed, go to about and reset the phone
- When phone is booting in magldr screen, insert the sd card
- let it boot completely, go to about and make sure you got the correct storage size ie. 7.39 GB in my case
- installed deviceprovisioning.cab using WP7 Update Cab Sender from xbox/yuki
- installed 7403 from zune
- go to about and reset the phone once again
- now install 7720 from zune (it took 2 hours to install on my phone)
- it should now continue to install ISV beta cleanup without any problem
To confirm you have ISV Beta cleanup installed, reboot the phone and go to zune and check for the updates, it should no more prompt you for ISV Beta cleanup
enjoy the Mango

I removed my sim card though...

Regards,
switching between all my computers did the trick for me..
went from a netbook (x64) to a notebook (x64) and my desktop (x86) finally did the update. took about 6 times..
I'm finally done updating, ready to try Mango on my HD2!

Hey guys
I update through cab to 7392.. Zune then found update to isv 7403 successfully updated
Zune then found isv beta (7720) but fails on step 8 error 80004005. ..tried all tricks
Is this the last update? Or shall i go to 7720 via cab?? Then hope zune will find this cleanup?
One simple i did is to run windows update and found a new windows phone driver after installing I able to run the clean up without even have to reboot my system
It seems (by doing several searches here in XDA) that there's a fair amount of ppl. having this issue. And I can't seem to find solid responses about this yet.
Status:
- Pdaimatejam ROM Tango 7.10. (No issues other than Zune and WPDM sync)
- Device Manager shows no issues with the driver. (Device recognized under Portable Devices as HTC HD7 T9292) ...although mine is an HD2.
- Installed WPDM but is asking me or the SDK 7.1 (which I am currently downloading)...
- Touchexperience downloaded but I have no way of running it as can't sync the device with neither WMDC nor WPDM. - also, not sure if this has anything to do with this issue. (I read in one thread that it might help)
- Have ALL windows updates. YES I have made several resets. Connect/disconnect etc. I DO have a windows Live ID.
- I have reinstalled Zune a couple of times already.
how can I get zune to detect my device?
How do I sync this device then?
Thanks a bunch.

you're running wp7...the pc will see as a hd7
you may have a live id, but do you have an activation code to authorize the wp7 phone installation?
don't know what you mean by all windows updates...what updates for pda'a rom? it'a all self contained flash.
have you tried rebooting the pc after zune installation?
you need to have zune running in order to use wpdm
and by resets, did you do hard resets either from setttings..reset or the hardware reset (vol up/down simultaneous during phone boot)
sometimes phone recognition by zune can be slow sometimes.
got the activation code. I am able now (after installing Visual Studio) of using WPDM to transfer files to the device. The Zune issue persists.
I did hardware resets, installed all from scratch (HSPL3, MAGLDR, RADIO) and finally ROM Pdaimatejam Tango 7.10.877.
Thanks for your quick reply hjhjhj!

i run into zune connection issues once in a while too...it usually comes down to doing a pc diskclean process and reboot the pc and try again.
