I woke up this morning with my nook color not being able to connect to my wifi network. I have had no problems before and haven't change anything. When I try to connect to my network it just goes through "obtaining IP address" then goes to "remembered" then "disabled". Rooted with one of the nightly builds. Any help would be appreciated.
Try deleting all of your wifi connections.
Reboot the router. I had the same thing 20 minutes ago.

Having problems connecting to a Belkin wifi adsl router with a Legend I bought for my wife. My Desire connects with no problems.
wifi analyser showing 70dBm, no other wireless routers in the area using the channel.
using wpa/wpa2 psk, router is in the same room.
I get prompted to enter the passcode, then nothing. Wifi shows as disconnected.
No wifi strength meter showing in the notification bar and no connection attempts showing at the router.
Are there any log files on the phone I can check?
I'm new to android so any hints would be cool.

Hey all,
I'm having issues connecting to ANY Wi-Fi network now. I used to be able to connect to my private network and any public networks easily. Now, whenever I try and connect, the phone hangs on "Obtaining IP Address" and it eventually disconnects. I've tried:
-Using a static ip
-Turning on and off Wi-Fi and forgetting the remembered networks.
-Rebooting, airplane mode, factory reseting
And still, the phone times out on trying to get an IP. Is there something obvious I'm missing?
Try flashing a stock rom. If that doesn't work then maybe the phone needs replacing.
My T-Mobile HD2 have strange problem with WiFi. Tried on 2 ROMS (imilka's Desire/Z vision 41 and on CMYLXGO 1.4.1 HD-based) - both have same problem.
HD2 connects to home router fine. But after some time (2-3 hours usually) it loses connection and kind of locks router and I have to reboot router. When I go to WiFi settings on HD2 is shows that it tries to connect to router and fails. Rebooting phone does not fix it. Router hangs and has to be rebooted.
I used same router with old WinMo HD2 - no problem. I did not change router config. I tried both DHCP and static ip address for my Android HD2 MAC address. Same problem
Any ideas ?
My Wifi suddenly stopped working on my Nexus 4 few days ago. When i try to connect it to my Wifi at home it keeps saying "Obtaining IP Address" Or it would say "Avoided due to poor internet connection". For some reason every other device in the house seems to work with it.
Anyone have any ideas?

Go to the wifi settings and untick the "avoid poor connection box", maybe that helps. But it may be a case that there is something wrong with the way the DHCP server on the router handles the new connection.
I would troubleshoot as follows:
1. Go to Wifi settings on phone and untick the box.
2. Go to the connection screen and remove the saved wifi connection.
3. Reboot the phone.
4. While the phone is rebooting you could also reboot the router
5. Search for the network and connect to it.
It would be helpfull if you could say what rom are you using, if you ever had this problem with other routers, etc
Hello. Today my dad bought this old Alcatel One Touch 985 phone using Android 2.3.6 (maybe there is an update but I can't get it cuz there is no god damned internet) and I have been trying for 3 hours now to connect this thing to the internet. I am using Connectify Pro which is a Wi-Fi hotspot software since my router is broken. Everything works fine and dandy with my Nexus 7 but the Alcatel doesn't want to connect. It starts with "Obtaining IP" -> "Authenticating" -> "Disconnected" and then repeats. I am using a WPA2 authentication. I hope you guys can help me fix this problem, thanks in advance!
Hi
Have you tried connecting with an open connection?
Have you tried re-entering the SSID (if the router isn't broadcasting the SSID) and password? Also, I've seen it before where the first time I enter the password it doesn't connect for whatever reason, even if I re-enter the password itself (and verify I'm entering it correctly). Then forgetting the connection and re-connecting works. It's pretty annoying.
Hi there,
Have you tried using a static ip address? change the settings on your device and use static ip instead of dhcp. thanks.
I was having this issue and found that it was the routers fault. I turned off the router by unplugging it for 30seconds then plugging it back in.
