My T-Mobile HD2 have strange problem with WiFi. Tried on 2 ROMS (imilka's Desire/Z vision 41 and on CMYLXGO 1.4.1 HD-based) - both have same problem.
HD2 connects to home router fine. But after some time (2-3 hours usually) it loses connection and kind of locks router and I have to reboot router. When I go to WiFi settings on HD2 is shows that it tries to connect to router and fails. Rebooting phone does not fix it. Router hangs and has to be rebooted.
I used same router with old WinMo HD2 - no problem. I did not change router config. I tried both DHCP and static ip address for my Android HD2 MAC address. Same problem
Any ideas ?

Hi,
I have strange problem connecting my HTC Touch HD to Wifi router.
Initially PDA connects to router and internet is working. After some time(after few hours or few days) connection is lost and wont connect again. Reseting router helps. Connection is back again for some time.
Strange is that my E-ten X800 has no problem with wifi connection to the same router all the time.
So i cant find out where to look for problem. Is it my router or HTC problem?
I've tried :
.reset my router to default settings and setup it again
.installed newest router firmware.
.changed passwords (btw changing password sometimes solves problem without reseting router. And again for some time only)
.changed WiFi channel
.changed rom on HTC Touch HD (previously was original rom)
Router: Linksys WAG54G2 (Wifi - WPA2)
Any error message on the PDA?
Or the WiFi icon just keeps on moving?

May be of help.

do you have a time out or limited connection time on your router?
Having problems connecting to a Belkin wifi adsl router with a Legend I bought for my wife. My Desire connects with no problems.
wifi analyser showing 70dBm, no other wireless routers in the area using the channel.
using wpa/wpa2 psk, router is in the same room.
I get prompted to enter the passcode, then nothing. Wifi shows as disconnected.
No wifi strength meter showing in the notification bar and no connection attempts showing at the router.
Are there any log files on the phone I can check?
I'm new to android so any hints would be cool.

UPDATE:::
Rebooted router, wifi now working..

i have problem with using INTERNET via wi-fi, i'm using [mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense RC1.3a].. is that just me who have this problem??
I use this version on my wifi and it works very well what is the problem, can you connect to the wireless network ?
thx for your reply
strange!!! it's work now for me
first was seen connect to the wireless network but could not surf ... etc.
anyway it works now!
No internet when switched to WiFi
I have the same issue. No internet when WiFi is turned on with darkstone HD2Froyo, Kernel 2.6.32.9-38076 (Cotulla 25/07/2010). I can ping my HD2 from my network over WiFi.
Seems as if the default gateway on my HD2 is not set in that case.
Is there an app to check the current ip settings?
I´m also wondering about the strange mac address my dhcp server shows me
00:11:22:33:44:55
^ that is the MAC address of your HD2 on the current Android build. We all have it -> CLICK
If you are usin MAC address filtering on the WiFi router, this is your problem - edit the MAC address list
Long shot but this worked for me.
wi-fi has worked no problem on most builds but anything with sense on it just wouldn't find my network, would find networks all around me but not the one sat next right to the phone!!!
Changed the channel on my router from 13 to 11 and hey presto, picked it up straight away

Tould you that i can ping the device so this has nothing todo with mac filtering.
Any other ideas?
I'm using the Darkstone Froyo build and WiFi works a treat when you enable it, the problem with it is that when the device is not in use and you activate the screen and unlock it, 9 times out of 10 it will be using 3g instead.
If you go into Settings -> Wifi it says "turning off"... then immediately goes to connecting to my home network wifi and all is well... ok, all is well until next time the device is idle
On gpc_hd2_gingerbread_v1.6, with any Wi-Fi connection (home or work) HD2 can't connect any site in any browser. Manual setup network with IP address, Netmask, Gateway - no reaction.
If I typing in address line direct IP of any site, e.g. google (74.125.77.147) - WOW! site is loading.
With 2G connection HD2 has no problem.
Were is bug?
Sorry for my bad english...

After six months of testing android on hd2 not encountered any problems with the Wi-Fi.
And now, with CWM flashing any other build - no problem, Wi-Fi works perfectly.
Hello. Today my dad bought this old Alcatel One Touch 985 phone using Android 2.3.6 (maybe there is an update but I can't get it cuz there is no god damned internet) and I have been trying for 3 hours now to connect this thing to the internet. I am using Connectify Pro which is a Wi-Fi hotspot software since my router is broken. Everything works fine and dandy with my Nexus 7 but the Alcatel doesn't want to connect. It starts with "Obtaining IP" -> "Authenticating" -> "Disconnected" and then repeats. I am using a WPA2 authentication. I hope you guys can help me fix this problem, thanks in advance!
Hi
Have you tried connecting with an open connection?
Have you tried re-entering the SSID (if the router isn't broadcasting the SSID) and password? Also, I've seen it before where the first time I enter the password it doesn't connect for whatever reason, even if I re-enter the password itself (and verify I'm entering it correctly). Then forgetting the connection and re-connecting works. It's pretty annoying.
Hi there,
Have you tried using a static ip address? change the settings on your device and use static ip instead of dhcp. thanks.
I was having this issue and found that it was the routers fault. I turned off the router by unplugging it for 30seconds then plugging it back in.
