[Q] nook rooting touchpad accident. please help - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When rooting my nook color, i accidently messed up and the touchpad went out. I succesfully downloaded cyanogenmod, but deleted something i shouldnt have while in clockwork. Any suggestions to get my touchpad working again?

perhaps start over? format sd card, write the image, cwm, format system, data cache and install cyan and google app zips, from this it can install all the files over again and install the files that got deleted

What is the "touchpad"?
I hope you don't mean the HP TouchPad

Lol HP? Ohhhh man...

Tried upgrading to cm 7.1rc now nook won't boot!!!

I got a message from rom manager saying a new update is available, so I select to clear dalvik cache and back up rom and let it start. I go to check my machine a few hours later and the screen is green. I tried to boot into clockworkmod but it says it has no backups, what else can I do?

You can always start over...

7.1 rc1 requires that you have the latest version of cwm. If you do not, then you encounter exactly what you have described. All is not lost! If you selected "backup rom" before you began, then boot back into cwm, restore your old rom, then update to the latest cwm (3.0.2.8, I believe) then update to rc1. If you do not have a backup then you will have to start over again but you will probably make backups in the future.

You should have a bootable CWM sdcard for occasions like this.
Unless you have a nandroid I don't believe you can roll back to an earlier version...
Unzip this attached file and put the folder contents in the root of your CWM sdcard, re-wipe and then flash latest CM7.

[Q] Help with market install

lol
looking in wrong section, found this under general:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227
I recently got a nook color and despite working on my Samsung Vibrant, Touchpad, and Evo 3d,. I am having a terrible time getting the nook setup.
Nook Color blue dot on 1.2 (so 1gb partition)
I did the verygreen install to SD card with Cyanogen and everything runs fine, but I can't get market to install. I've tried renaming the files, re-installing, tried the abd push and nothing.
Used rom manager to download and flash recovery
When I try to boot into recovery, I get tux, then statement saying B&N emmc in place and gapps installer not found then shutdown. No recovery menu option given.
I've come to the point where I've decided just to do an emmc install.
Any good guides out there for rooting a 1.2 and installing cyanogen 7.1 and market apps?
TIA

[Q] Issue Mounting SD in CWM to flash ICS

Ok. I have a strange problem. I am rooted, running CWM 4.0.0.4. I should have check if CMW could see the Xoom's SD card, but I fogot.
I blew away /Data and /Cache. I tried to find the SD and it cannot see the SD so I formatted a 2GB SD and put the ICS ROM on it to flash. Rebooted into CWM and it still cannot see the SD.
When I look at the Xoom's storage, it seems that Titanium Backup and ROM Manager created backup in the Xoom's default storage NOT on the SD.
Unfortunately, now when I boot into 3.1, I don't even have the Market. What are my options here? Wipe Data/Factory Reset? Re-root?
When I boot into CWM, it says ODM Fuse 1 (if that means anything). I did recover from a CWM but lost SU but still rooted. Paused for now.
Thanks for any help!
Clockwork 3.0.2.5 can see external not newer version. So get the old version back on there maybe through rom manager then wipe everything and instal kang ics nightly version. Everything works in it. If that doesn't work do it through adb. I was still rooted flashing to it. Sounds like your better off moving forward then trying to fix whatever you've got going on. Titanium stored my stuff on SD card. Your apps are primly still there. Go to preferences, folder, scan whole device. Then set filter to backed up. If you have an old nandroid you can do the whole ics instal first then click restore, advanced, data after words. Then your apps will still be there at least. Basically got to get old clockwork either through rom manager or adb flash recovery then instal ics, then try data restore.

Not true that you need to go back to that old version to get external sd support. Flash solarnz' v3.2.0.0...it supports ICS now. Just stay away from Rom Manager updates (4.0.0.4) as they don't support external sd.
UBER thanks! That worked. Now flashing ICS! Ran into Wi-fi authentication problem but a reboot should help.

[Q] Can't re-partition EMMC from dual partitions

Hey everyone ---
After running dual boot/partitions with 1 being CM10 and one being stock Nook, I decided that I don't use the stock Nook at all and I should just be all CM10.
Problem is I can't seem to wipe out or remove the partitions and re-partition the nook. I have no problem rebuilding it and re-installing roms etc.... but it seems no matter what I do it will not delete the second partition. I have even reverted the Nook back to stock and it still has the second partition... just empty.
Anybody help me wipe it all out and repartition so I can just run CM10 and have all my space internally
Thanx in advance
Tinpau
Go to my NC partition repair thread linked in my signature. It should fix you up.

Thanx ... I am downloading and trying it now
SUCCESS !!
Thanx again .... Now just running CM10 ... and TWRP

[q] black screen of death

yes i read before posting. first let me tell you wut i did.
1) installed schizoid pac rom on nook color......
2) as per instructions i formatted system and cache.
3)flashed rom
4)worked slow but fine. decided this rom isnt worth keepin on.
5)as per instructions when transferring from these types of roms to any other 10.1.x roms i formatted system/cache again
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^this last step broke my clockwork recovery. :crying:
----now i am unable to boot after rom, gapps flash.
----receive following messages when cwm is pulled up
-----E:\ unable to mount system, cache and all the other ones that u can manually mount and dismount via cwm
so i can flash jus not boot up.
tried flashing stock image .zip for a stock recovery via sd boot and i get passed *read forever* and then i hit the big gigantic "n" with copywrite details and such but won't go passed that screen.
wanted to try the adb restore thingy but i need to be able to boot up the nook to enable debug right? so i can't do that......unless im stupid which quite possibly is the case. i had a moment complaining about kit kat earlier and am sorry so if i can't get help i understand. thx guys

Go to my NC partition repair thread linked in my signature and flash the repair and format zips. That should then let you put any ROM you want back on it, including stock.
You may have to go to my NC Tips thread to make a bootable recovery SD first though.
