[Q] CM7 can not shutdown, just restart -u8800 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello!
As this is my first post, I will try to be brief and post as many info, as I can.
Problem:
Shutdown - the phone does not shutdown with the "Power off", it simply reboots. Removing the battery shuts the phone off, obviously, but when inserting the battery, it comes back, without pressing the power button.
Tryed full wipe, dalvik wipe, wipe cache.
Also tryed (with full wipe/dalvik):
[OFFICIAL-MIUI-PT-ROM][Dec 30][U8800]MIUI v1.12.30[2.3.7][EN-PT]
[ROM][u8800] MIUI Multilingual 1.12.16 18/12/11
Current:
Info: (【rom】u8800-cm7-111128-32final[unoffical] )
Mod version: CyanogenMod 7.1.0-u8800-Geno
Build number: CM7-2.3-Geno-Goapk
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
Recovery: ClockworkMod 4.0.0.5, same happens on 5.0.2.7 version
Thanks,
Radko.
edit: I can not remember, since when is this problem. I just know, this did was not happening a while ago.

Maybe you were trying to (re)root the phone recently? Had the same problem, fixed by replacing boot.img file with another one.

[Q] Can i flash roms this way?

Ok so i'm a total noob, i've looked around at afew tutorials on xda and many other sites.
But i have a problem, i'm unable to boot into recovery mode, I've tried holding down the buttons and i even tried afew apps/widgets but the effect mentioned below occurs.
Also the boot logos do not appear when i turn my phone on (after it fails to boot into recovery or normal reboot), but the sounds/jingle does. I have to press the [turn off] button then the home button or else my phone stays on a black screen (with back-light but black).
Heres some information about my phone:
Model Number:
GT540
Firmware version:
2.1-Update1
Kernel version:
2.6.69
[email protected] #1
Fri Oct 15 12:47:03 EDT 2010
Software version:
GT540-V20b-OCT-15-2010
I am running 2.1 (offical lg) as far as i know, but then again i'm a total noob. I allready had 2.1 when i bought the phone.
I am rooted (used z4root).
I found this app named ROM Toolbox [By JRummy16] on the android market, and from what i've read you can install roms from it, So i was wondering if i had a rom image/.zip could i use this to flash a rom onto my phone?
If anyone has answers to any of my problems please post a link to a thread and any help is appricieated. Again, sorry for being a noob xD
Also if anyone needs more details i'm willing to co-operate. Thank you all for you time.
you need to flash fastboot 2.1 rom via kdz updater, and then flash recovey via fastboot
you need to boot into download mode and then use kdz
(or try to flash via that black screen, if yor computer find ur phone over usb cable)
about kdz
@up 100% correct lol

[Q] (Solved) Unrooted my Defy using sbf in Linux and I see only the logo

Hello,
I installed 2nd init, CM7 and it was working great, then I ugpraded to CM9 nightly and it was also working great. My earpiece broke and I am about to send the phone to service, I need to flash it with stock. So I have downloaded JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf and sbf_flash, booted into bootloader (UP KEY), flashed in my Fedora Linux. Everything worked great.
After process completed, Defy rebooted and now I only see ANDROID logo, nothing happens, its booting forever ;-) Did I something wrong? Should I remove the 2nd init bootloader first or something? Should I clear cache before doing this? Is there a way out for me?
I am currently downloading other stock roms, but this one (U3 3.4.2) was the one I was shipped with it. I know there is some limitation (no possibility of downgrading) so I went to Settings - About phone and downloaded the very same SBF file that I was shipped with, but apparently it was useless :-(
Is it possible the first boot after SBF takes long (some formatting or something)? I am waiting 10 minutes now with no luck...
SOLVED:
Pull battery,
put battery back in holding the VOL-Down until the android pops up...
press VOL-Up and VOL-Down at the same time (!!!)
Wipe Data/Cache + Factory RESET (!!!)
Reboot, flash SBF. Works
wipe data in stock recovery...

Installing froyo 2.2.1 keeps rebooting in start up

Hi All,
I want to share my experience:
I installed several version of CM (7, 7.2, 9) but none where my complete liking
so i said "I will install the 2.2.1 version again with RSDLigth"
everything went ok, but when the phone rebooted as part of the process, it was only rebooting in the blank screen and never entering the OS.
Even the RSD Ligth never finished the installation :s
After several hours it occurred to me that if i wipe the cache and restore to factory settings might help
So i took the batter off, press power button several times to eliminate any energy in the phone
place the battery and pres FIRST volume button down and then power button.
Kept pressing till the Android with a "!" appeared in the screen and then pres volume up and down at the same time and came up the recovery of the phone
cleared the cache and restore to factory settings.
rebooted the phone Connected to the pc, and the process finally ended and the phone worked.
Hope this can help some one else that might be having the same issue as i did.
Here is the link to the forum where you can have the installations steps to reinstall using the RSD:

Phone won't boot after first reboot.

Hi, I've been trying to flash Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 with KT-SGS4 the latest.
I'll flash the ROM, Gapps, and kernel, and will boot. Then on my next reboot I get stuck on the Samsung screen with the lock that says custom. The only way I can get out of this is to hold Vol. up + home + Power, and FORMAT data, and reflash the listed stuff to get it running again. Is there anyway to fix this? I've searched for hours and can't find a resolution, I just switched to the GS4.
