My kindle will not boot after installing go launcher EX, it gets to the kindle fire screen and just sticks there. Hoping someone has a fix for this.
hmmm if you plug the the fire into a computer can you access the sdcard?
what we may need is somebody to root their tablet before taking the ota, then copying the ota out of the cache and upload it. there may be a fail safe feature where it automatically takes and update.zip and installs it it's present
amazon market
I haven't root'ed mine yet but downloaded the go launcher EX from the Amazon Market and it works fine
well the update is available http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620#download for download so if you can manage to get your computer to view your sdcard, put it in the kindleupdate folder and it should install it which may fix your problem
I rooted my TF101 the other night and installed Revolution HD 3.4.2 via the method here (including using Superwipe).
I have previously rooted and flashed ROMs on two Android phones (Droid 1 & Rezound), so I thought I had some idea what to expect, but was shocked, when my tablet re-booted, to see that virtually nothing had changed. My homescreen was exactly as it was before I rooted, with all the widgets functioning, and all of my Folder organizer shortcuts in place. All of my apps were installed, and with all of their data intact. My Tasker scripts were running, the tablet automatically connected to my WIFI, and the tablet is buggy in all the ways that made me want to root and install a ROM in the first place. If it didn't say "Android Revolution HD 3.4.2 by mike1986" at Settings/About tablet/Build number, I'd think that neither the wipe nor the flash had been successful.
How is this possible? Has something gone wrong, or is flashing a ROM on a Transformer a radically different experience than on a Droid or a Rezound? All input is appreciated.

I'm sorry, I posted this to the wrong forum. I've copied it over to the Transformer Questions Forum, but can't figure out how to delete it here...
I've been using a N2A card to run CM on a Nook HD+. Yesterday I rebooted into the native Nook operating system and upgraded with Google Play support.
The good part is that the apps I got from Google Play are available. I even loaded Nova Launcher to bypass the B&N home screen. It is working well so far. The only trivial problem is that at times (such as going into the settings menu) it does ask again which home screen is wanted.
It also seems faster and more stable. I get a lot of crashes with the N2A card. (The seller did send me a beta late last week which I haven't had a chance to test yet). However, this is not a fair comparison. I have lots of apps set up with the N2A card and very few when booting into the Nook and there is an excellent chance that the crashes come from some of my apps. (I don't mean this to be criticism of N2A--just looking at pluses and minuses of each way of using the tablet).
The negative side of using the new B&N software is that apps other than from the B&N store and Google Play remain blocked. The rare program which I purchased directly from the software writer, along with the few apps I got for free from Amazon which I actually use cannot easily be used unless repurchased from the Play store. I'm also finding that several apps which I got onto the N2A card are listed as not being available for the Nook thru the Play Store. Obviously the advantages of rooting are also lost, but this isn't as important to me on the tablet as on my phone (other than losing the ability to sideload apps).
I'm wondering about the experiences of others who load rooted ROM's from sdcards versus the new B&N software. Any differences in performance from running the operating system directly from the Nook as opposed to the sdcard, and any differences in stability?
If you want to be able to install third party apps in stock, go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread and flash the Extras zip. It enables unknown sources so those are not blocked.
N2A gets their ROMs here so expect them to act the same.
Battery life is much better with stock. It deep sleeps a lot when the screen is off.

There's no problem installing third party apps when booting with N2A. I'm comparing the updated stock OS which now allows apps from Google Play but unfortunately doesn't allow installation of other apps. If it allowed for the installation of other apps I might give up on booting from the SD to get a rooted tablet and run it as a stock Nook.

I understood what you meant. I was saying you can fix that in the new version of stock by flashing that zip. And you can do that without rooting it.

How do you flash a zip with stock? It certainly doesn't allow that without modification (I would assume rooting).

Look at my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature. And yes, you can do it without rooting. You don't flash with stock, you flash to stock using a bootable CWM card. You can even use the CWM on your N2A card (assuming they left it there when they copied the ROM from here).

With Nook's 2.1 ROM for the HD+, is one required to revert back to stock ROM, update to 2.1, then reapply the Hybrid fix? I'm considering a straight up stock ROM install in any event given the deep sleep, stability and increased responsiveness reported by some, then reinstall the Hybrid SD.
I've read through this and other leapinlar threads (all excellent and worth the read in their own right) and if the procedure is explained, for those running the Hybrid HD, I missed it.
As kudos, Leapinlar's clear explanations, instructions and flashes are at the head of the class, any ROM class, and I've flashed plenty on various smartphones and tablets. Barnes and Noble would do well indeed to make him an offer he can't refuse!
Then again I'd selfishly prefer he'd refuse and continue on XDA.
I'm running CM10 Hybrid SD on the HD+.
Thanks.

Just got the Nook HD+ today .. reading all the info here and leapinlar .. thank you so much for providing all the fantastic apps to make the tablet even better. I am assuming once I burn the CWM img file you reference in your post (NookHDplus-bootable-CWM-6023-for-emmc-stock-4GB-rev3-(02.17.13).zip), and use CWM to install the Extras zip, I will be able to install Amazon Appstore on the stock Nook HD+. Also assuming this will also help me sideload apps to the stock Nook HD+.

You do not need to modify or reinstall Hybrid. Just update to 2.1.0. Hybrid will continue to work.

What about performance?
How does the stock updated Nook home compare to CM10 on SD? Which one is faster? Lag? other differences?
I'm interested to see the GPU performance on the HD+. Can anyone show me the HD+ running something like Blitz Buggy or Into The Dead on youtube? I'm very interested in this tablet, at the $179 pricepoint, but I need to know that it can perform first.

Sorry, I can't upload a clip but I have just downloaded and tested Buggy Blitz and it ran perfectly even with the graphics options turned up to max resolution. I saw no hint of frame rate slow down even when the screen was very busy. I hope that helps

I ended up going from Hybrid to straight stock, partly because I accidentally factory reset my CM10 install rather than stock when setting up the update, but also to escape the need to reboot back and forth. I like stock for magazines, but was doing everything else in CM10, and half the time when I picked up the tablet it would be on the wrong OS for what I wanted to do. The worst shortcoming of stock is lousy multitasking without ICS/JB Recent Apps. The stock Recent Apps only seems to register apps/media launched from the stock home screen, which I tried to like but ultimately found too dumb to live.
I accidentally turned off my HD+ when it was downloading the 2.1 update. Now when I boot into stock, I can't get the device to update again. In device information, it just shows the device is updating, but nothing happens. What can I do now to update to 2.1 via OTA?
Also, I'm running Hybrid cm10, is there a way that I can boot into stock without removing the sd card?

To boot into stock without removing the SD, when the cyanoboot logo comes up hold the n key, it will boot to stock.
Unfortunately when you interrupt the download or flash, it thinks it is completed and will not try again. I suggest you download my plain 2.1.0 stock zip from my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature. You should be able to flash that with the Hybrid CWM since the zip is hard coded to install to emmc. Do not do any wiping with it though, as it will wipe Hybrid instead of emmc. Just flash is all you need to do.

Running stock coming from CM10 on SD card. Have Apex installed and it is running smoothly. I am rooted with the Extras installed. One issue is that the Nook Video doesn't seem to want to play my UV movies. They start but just sit there in the buffering state. I got VUDU sideloaded so its not that huge of a deal.

I agree with you about stock being too limited. I have been running stock exclusively now since the 2.1 update was installed. I just wanted to see if I could get used to it. I have to admit that I like it a LOT more than the older versions. There are some highly annoying things about it though, which may send me back into the arms of CM10(x).
One of the things I don't like is the inconsistently placed back button, and the fact that it sometimes Disappears entirely as in the stock email app. The only way out of there is the nook (home) button. And the recently used apps is also not nice.
I'm not sure yet but I am getting close to deciding to go with 10.1 on emmc. Just giving myself some time with stock to see if there's anything I'll miss. I like the magazines on stock but haven't been using it for that, so I'm not sure I'd miss it. (I do have a couple print subscriptions that I also get on the nook, but I can probably live without)
I guess the only other thing I need to do is compare the stock nook reading app with the regular nook for android and see if I'd miss anything there. Also, does anybody know if there is a nook magazine reader for android that could act as a replacement for the one on stock?
I just find it amusing that on the same day we got this much more usable stock ROM, we also got the ability to completely remove it from our devices and replace it with CM on the emmc. I wouldn't be surprised if by this weekend I'm running straight cm10.1 on the emmc. Stock still has just a little too many annoyances for me to be completely happy with it. I don't want to "settle".
