I have the SuperClean3 V0.5 rom, with KGB Kernel [updated 12/12], and my capacitive buttons stay on for infinity when my screen is on. Very annoying for nighttime usage.
I discovered I can turn off the light by echoing '0' to some file in /sys/class/, but it only switches it off, If I touch the buttons after that, they turn on again.
The KGB Kernel includes "neldar's BLN v9" so anyone have any idea how I can set the timeout to maybe a few seconds? JT's vanilla GB rom has that built into spare parts, and I'd rather not reflash another rom...

hello,
i am using the 24001 branch rom and its perfect.
its fast and stable.
however, i have found one bug, not sure if its generic to wm6.5 or jst the rom.
i have turn off backlight after 1 min and turn of device after 3 min.
i lock the screen and once 1min are over and the backlight goes off.
but when i unlock it the backlight does not come back, its still off.
only solution is to go and adjust the brightness.
i searched on forum for backlight + wakeup but could not find a similar post.
Ok I have Enom 1.8.1 + latest NExtheme + IntersecRaven Kernel.
My N1 screen's time out is set to 30sec but the screen only turn half dark after 30sec and doesn't shut off unless I press the power button.
Is it a problem of kernel or Nextheme?
Not a kernel problem. Running the same kernel as you posted (but on CM 5.0.6), just checked - after 30 seconds the phone was off.
Nobody has the same problem?
Is there any way to configure HW buttons light up time? I just want to make the buttons light up while the screen is on. Currently buttons turn off before the screen and I don't see them in the dark. I am using the last MDJ revolution build with S6.1 kernel.
How may I configure that?
Thanks!
I don't like the backlit buttons on cyanogenmod, is there anyway I can have the buttons turned off, I've looked through the cyanogen settings can't find it, also tried BLN control and its says the mod is not installed???
bln is backlight notification. it is for when you recieve a notification and it flashes. it is not the backlight for the buttons in general. cyanogenmod does not support bln. if you want to turn off the light for the buttons, there is an option somewhere in the settings. I think in display, but my galaxy is in for repair right now so I am not totally sure.
Hi,
I am currently running a stock ROM (4.2.2) with latest Franco kernel.
My Nexus 4 doesn't turn the screen off automatically after a period of inactivity. Is this the expected behaviour? The display is set to sleep after 15 sec and I can see that it dims the brightness, but the screen is still on unless I manually lock it with the power button.
Can you tell me if this is "normal"?
Thanks

Nevermind, I re-flashed the kernel and the screen gets turned off properly after a period of inactivity.
