Guys, this problem is starting to bug me, 'cause I've tried many options and I couldn't fix it, no matter if I active the option in Cyanogen settings.
The thing is that I can't install/move apps in the SD Card. First I tried Apps2SD, Link2d and 2DE, but all those didn't work.
Then I tried partitioning my SD card in EXT2/3/4 format in Linux with Gparted. Android didn't recognize it and asked for formatting the entire space in fat32.
I also tried to format in EXT with ClockWorkMod, but same situation, it needed to format again in Fat32 to use it.
That's why I can't install any more new apps.
If anyone know a solution, please help.
I'm using GingerDX (Gingerbread 2.3.7) V21 with stock kernel.
My SD card is a Kingston 16 Gbs.
Thanks in advance!

Searched before, never did found a good tut for partitioning a SD Card with Success.
Like to partition a SD card to ext/swap/fat32 properly.
Also always wonder, can I install apps on to SD card fat32 partition or ext? rather than the Cell build in memory?(myTouch 3G 1.2)
Can some one point me to a good tutorial to do this?
Or a video tutorial?
Cheer!

Use the option in your recovery image. I think AmonRA's should work just fine.
The ROM your using will decide whether you can install apps to FAT or to EXT partitions. Honestly I would use the EXT partition out of the two because if loaded to FAT you'll lose your Alps when you unmount your SD card. Honestly you've got plenty of internel storage so you shouldn't need it.

Frustrated with this, ive read that i needed to format the SD card as i have Phone7 so did that but its still saying the above error message.
Could someone tell me what needs to be done to sort this.
Could you clearly state your problem. Or if you think you've done so, be more clear then.
Are you formatting the SD card the right way? Using Panasonic SD Formatter 2.0. If you haven't, try that.
What exactly are you formatting it for? For dual-boot of WP7 & Android? Using an Ext3/4 partition for Android or just want your full storage back on your SD card?
I have formatted the SD card with the Panasonic software. All i want to run is a nand android but as soon as i install a few apps it tells me that the storage space is low. I have re-loaded the Abdroid nand rom after a format of the sd card and still have the same problem.
Can anyone help ?
You have a Leo512 HD2 yeah? (One without T-mobile branding on the top)
If that's the case, you need a ROM (most do) which supports either Apps2SD or Data2SD. You need to create a Ext3/4 partition for it to work.
Use the search bar and you'll find out how to partition your SD card if you don't already know.
Well im thick i searched partition n got no answers
Search for something like "how to make an ext3 partition using minitool". Can't get a link atm as I'm on my phone.

minitool partition wizard will be good for you i think
I just switched from a 2.2 version of android to a gingerbread version on my hd2. The problem I am having is that now my phone says SD card damaged. It worked on my old version and is Able to be read when I'm in magldr and use USB mass storage but not on this android. I tried to format in android that didn't work and tried formatting with windows. I don't understand why it can be read sometimes but not others but would appreciate it if someone could help me get this to work or atleast get it to reformat so can be used. Thanks
What exact ROM are you using? Were you running any partitions(EXT3/EXT4).

what did you use to try and format it in windows? search in the forum for the panasonic sd formatter or google it if you haven't tried using it already.
I have not tried the Panasonic SD formatter I will give it a try at work since my computer is down for the time being. What is the difference between that program and the windows formatting program though?
In simple terms, one does it better than the other.

You also have to consider d possibility dat ur sd card is losing it gradually...My previous 8GB sd card works flawlessly on WinMo but whenever i flash an android build (tried several, same result), it works 4 awhile then mounts as read only or as ur described, sd damaged...a quick 4mat wit panasonic sd formatter wakes it back only for it 2 repeat d process....
I bought another sd card and haven't had any issues wit it watsoever...my old 8gb card still works but i guess its 2 weak for android's constant reading & writing.
Im having the same problem. Card works fine in everything but Android on HD2, NAND not SD Rom.
Ive formatted form Windows but i'll try the Panasonic one as well. If not would a 16GB card be compatible or would it be too big?
The size isn't a problem as long as your phone supports it. Just make sure you format the correct ext size partitions etc...

Is there a guide/thread explaining how I go about creating ext size partitions on SD cards & what size etc?
I run off a NAND ROM if that makes any difference?
Sorry i'm new to Android!
I tried the Panasonic formatter but it still says damaged SD. Still works in mass storage mdgrl or whatever it is. And asks to be formatted when I try to use it in XP

I have the same ROM & just keeps saying SD card damaged. I've formatted in windows & in the clockwork recovery tool but to no avail. I dont want to buy a new card just to have the same problem!
You should avoid using mass storage in MAGLDR.

Hey, I got it working, I followed this guide & it worked 1st time.
After formatting my sd card with a honeycomb image using ecm, how do I get it back to the full 8gb? Do I need to use the hp format tool? or was there something with files?
nvm, just formatting from nook worked and i think i meant windows32diskimaginer (or dd) not ecm.
i have the same problem i installed Honeycomb on my nook to try it out and now i want to try out CM7. but my windows xp wants me to format the SD card when i try to transfer the CM7 and Goggle apps . i tried to format in honeycomb but it bugs and does nothing. any suggestions for a noob.
thanks

Got an Android phone? I hear that works as well.
There is information around the web telling you to place your SD Card in your nook and go into settings, device info, unmount the SD, and then format it. This works using the auto-nooter process. Any mod requiring an EXT.4 partition (CyanogenMod, PhireMod, HoneyComb) will not allow this simple procedure. You`ll need software to format your SD card. We recommend using this tool built by the SD card manufacturers association. It is free and simple to use. You can download it here.

There are also reports that putting the Sd card in a USB reader works. I experienced this too. Internal reader = "card not formatted", USB reader = success.

I use SD Formatter. works great
Hi!
I have a N900W8 with cyanogenmod 11 snapshot 8 running. Recently I wiped all and did a clean install .
I am trying to install app to SD, but I don't know where to start, if I try to move an app to SD I don't see the ption to do it, like I did in the past with other android phones.
So I tried to repartition the SD with the phil recovery, ext size was 256MB and swap 32MB and partition type I selected ext3.
The first two option were suggested by clockworkmod ... I am not sure if the process worked, because the ext SD was not formatted at all.
Is there an option in cyanogenmod to put as default location to install the external micro SD?
Thanks
Is it real that cm11 does not support yet app to sd yet?
Please HELP :cyclops:
