Hi guys, I'm trying to install the cyanogen on my defy, but the problem is that I can't go in recovery mode.
I used Rom Manager for download the rom, and that was ok, but when I try to go in the recovery mode, the mobile phone show me a yellow exclamation mark with android logo.
The mobile phone is already rooted, how can I solve this problem?
Thanks!
i read somewhere you can't use rom manager with defy because of the locked boot loader. you need to install 2ndinit and go from there.
you can roughly follow the instructions here to install cm7, but bear in mind that some of the infos and links are out of date:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054447
you can't find 2ndinit in the market anymore. you have to search for it, download and put it into your phone's sd card. use a file manager to open and install it.
once you have installed 2ndinit, continue from step 6.
thanks so much! I solved the problem!

hi,
i gained root acces to my vodafone magic 32b a few days ago using the goldcard method but have not been able to successfully install any custom roms. i have folowed many how to's off the unlockr and this forum the cyanogen wiki all of it and still have been unable to install a rom. every time i try to install a rom my phone is stuck at the vodafone boot screen and does not come out of it. i installed rom manager in the hopes that will fix my problem but it did not flash the clockwork recovery option sayong it does not have permission....i decided to change from ra recovery top the clockwork recovery manually and bypassing the rom manager requirement to flash it, when i try to install the rom through rom manager it says click okay to reboot into recover mode i click okay and my phone does nothing.... please help for some reason im stuck on android 1.5!!
solved problem
I have a ZTE Blade and want to flash a new rom. I have done it before but thistime I messed up. I was changing it to Gen 2 and once that was done I wiped the phone with the built in clockworkmod. I know I should have installed the clockwork mods that are provided by you guys. So when I try and flash with built in clockworkmod it says cannot find file intalation aborted. I tried to turn the phone on holding the up button and the android man stays on, which is right. But when I try and run the downloaded clockworkmod from command prompt it just comes up on my pc wanting to burn it as it is an img file. Please help I don't know what to do.
Now I have managed to install an stock rom, it finished installing and re-booted. Now all I get on is the android sign and thats it.
Hi
It's probably been asked before but I still have trouble finding my way through this forum...
It's the first time I tried to install Android on my HD2. I got the newest Radio and was able to install Magldr. I wanted to try the Team Blue Droid Version ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275119 ) and got to the step where I should hit "AD Recovery" in the boot menue. Sadly, it says "no boot scources"
I copied the zip-file onto my SD-Card, shouldn't it be able to find it? Or do I have to do something else?
And on a side note: is it possible to go back and get my old windows 6.5 running again? I'm kind of panicking here ^^°
I would be very, very happy if somebody would be able to help me.
Seems that you've not installed ClockworkMod with correct partition layout for this rom.
Without CWM you could not boot into AD Recovery to flash your rom.

Monzer, when you install bootmenu are you installing the .apk and then opening the app and then clicking to install 2nd init? This is the right procedure! after you do this reboot your phone and watch for blue led to flash during boot, hit volume down once it flashes blue.
What 2nd init version are you installing? here is the latest http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792601&d=1322064151
Are you trying to flash CM7?
There is a very old version of CWM that should be suitable if all else fails you. It should work just fine to flash CM7 but not so sure about CM9. However if you want to flash CM9 You could use this old version of CWM to flash CM7 which will in turn install a new version of 2nd init which is definitely suitable for flashing CM9. This old CWM "might" work for flashing CM9 but I dunno if I would try or not! Download in my attachment below!
You MUST enable USB debugging to install.
copy the apk to your sdcard and use a file manager to install it then open the app in your app drawer and choose to install the custom recovery (with USB dubugging ON)
THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
AFTER INSTALLING THE CUSTOM RECOVERY DISABLE USB DEBUGGING.
You enter CWM by again opening the app and choosing reboot to recovery (with USB debuggind OFF)
Click to collapse
Yesterday I installed a software called Rom manager in Market.
But when I want to enter the clockworkmod recovery.
I can't get in. While loading 123456 and say go
It stopped.I dont know what happen to my HD2
who can help me?? Thanks
ROM Manager does not work with MAGLDR, it even makes your CWM stop working.
Here is how to fix it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337663
