Now that developing for our Acer Iconia is going like a fast train.
Pls DEVelopers work togheter and don t fight each other here at XDA we have to work togheter and make all off us users happy to use they great modifications you the allready known, Half gods, give us.
But don t fight please in the world around us there is place enough for all developing people do it doesn t matter if one or the other has made the basic stone to start building from.
I love the work and skills of you all.
I hope that we can keep this forum of ACER Iconia peacefull

While I think that devs should all work together towards a common goal, I also think that people should understand what ExAcTlY is going on before making their decisions...
It should also be noted that concealing/altering and stealing work is a DISGRACE and against what XDA is all about (and sometimes illegal...)

Given what I have said above, you do realise you have accused a great ROM developer of multiple devices of doing something he probably didn't? An apology to MDJ sounds like in order

No war but peace and development

we cannot understand what goes behind scenes for these developers apperantly they have issues with each other but I respect them so much, I appreciate the hard work they do no other developer wants to even conside doing developing on the iconia before they broke into the locked boot loader. So please developers (not mentioning names) lets continue with the great work you guys made the A500 an envy withing my friends when 6 months ago they thought xoom, Asus tf were the better choice.

Just stumbled on to this and it is so funny. There will always be a bit on a competitive edge in these forums. Back in x1 forum it was all out war for donations, views and downloads. It may be a bit daunting to others chefs when they are all working on making Acer base better we have mdj releasing all kinda ports. Good for us I admit but maybe a bit daunting for others. I would like to see a few different takes on the ports we have right now as to me Acer base has been taken as far as it can go. It be nice to see a fusion rom with the best bits of galaxy, thrive, xoom etc thrown in. Will the devs come together and do that? Maybe not but its still a thought

Ae you reading the same forum as the rest of us? We have root for every version, a unlocked bootloader, more roms then you can throw a stick at - and new posts every day.

According to several members that have contacted DELL, the official Honeycomb OTA is supposed to roll out within 48 hours.

Hello fellow xda members,
I know many devs and community members are busy enjoying and developing for many new shiny phones and tablet, but today i turn and ask for your help.
There is a small community of DELL Streak 7 owners along with ONE DEV who are trying to bring some life and a lot of improvements into our small and pitiful tablet running Tegra2.
Our current Honeycomb 3.2 build is running off the XOOM dump. We have some features and errors that of course, because there is no native dump for the streak, are having problems fixing.
I come asking as a poor newb, because i really tried to learn how to learn to modify ROMs and i couldn't do it, for your support.
Our one and only dev right now is DJ_Steve (Click here for profile), who has done and continues to do a freaking amazing job. He has achieved what many thought was not possible; making honeycomb work for our small tablet.
If any of you guys out there have any time and ability to spare, we would REALLY appreciate your support and expertise.
DELL has said they would release a HC update, but as we know, so has every other android manufacturer; most lie.
So, I come representing many, and humbly ask, will you help us out?

i want to open this thread because seems that the development in this forum for acer a500 ICS AOSP has been stopped.
I know that lots of people "hate" thor2002ro for not relasing source code in fact this thread is only informative for who, as me, doesn't care about having or not having source but they want to try ICS on tablet.I think that it is the right place because is a custom rom. Then, with the permissions of thor2002ro, i decide to mantain a thread on xda copying what they publish on tegraowners. I take no credit for the rom, im only a messenger for you (if you do not want it, simply dont reply) and i try to update the thread when a new alpha is done:

getting over this annoying spat that doesn't help the community one bit, i just installed the new ROM (v59) and played with it. aside from it being terribly buggy on the cyanogen/trebuchet side (it keeps freezing), it's pretty fast and a bit more intuitive than honeycomb. granted, alpha development is at a point where ICS's main eyecandy options (face detection via camera, integrated data counter and what not) don't work. that's why it's an alpha. the new gapps are nice.. but having a 501 with no data connectivity means i'll be rewiping and installing any other flavour of 3.2.1 tonight.
now, that's not the community's fault, but perhaps working together more instead of bickering at each other would fix me my ICS sooner, dammit. now go make me some ice cream sammiches ..

Do u know the ParanoidAndroid Rom originally made for the GS2 and then ported to the Galaxy Nexus released as a stable build for the Nexus somewhere in early 2012.
Guess where it was posted? Nope, not the gs2 forum. Just because u port a Rom doesn't mean u promote it in the original forums. Please understand, I'm not trying to flame or anything. Just showing you how things work around here.

I don't know if ZTE has released any kernel source that will work on CDMA phones, it's their duty to do that under the GPL, so hassle ZTE, your network operator (if it's a network-branded phone) & the place that supplied you with your phone. Do it loudly, in public, Twitter is good. Without source code for the kernel they're violating copyright by selling these phones.
If you compile CM7 for VMSPLIT 2G then you might be able to get it working with the stock kernel.

Since the Blade section was the one i went to get any info on the score, not to mention that yes, the idea of the same brand does make sense to put it where one might think it gets seen....but there is no need for the snarky BS from others...but i digress.
The USB port is toasted as is my card reader, im working on another way to charge the battery but resources are limited., collected 1/2 so far in donations, so perhaps i can score a new one next week.

Im not really worried about the radio working or not myself, i use it as a homeless mans tablet while sitting in starbucks. I havent played with kernels since, well debian 3 i guess was the last time i actually got down and dirty with one.... Im thinking that this phone is so cheap that they just rehased old source.

Hello everyone. I must apologize if this thread does not belong her. I just desperately need help. I have posted a similar thread in another category but I think it didn't get much attention so I'll repost it here.
"I have ran out of options and finally decided to take this step, not really sure if it will work but still hoping though that it will. I have come here to ask for help from developers and people with great knowledge in these things. Here is my situation. My friend bought a gmate+ device abroad as a gift for me here in Philippines and unfortunately, this device can only be used in the country it was bought in. After reading things in the manufacturer's site and contacting them (they have a very not-so-satisfying customer service, sorry to mention this), it seems that there really is no cure for my case unless I have it ship back and ask for refund then buy a new one here instead,which is also almost impossible because I do not have the receipt(the item was just given to me without any receipt) and I do not know exactly from which store my friend purchase it(and according to him, he is also unsure from which store exactly because he went shopping for things as gifts not in just a single store or place). So to make the story short, I now have a useless piece of device which could have been really great for my Nexus 7 if only it works. The gmate+ is a device sold by the company Skyroam. This is a bluetooth device which allows an Android or iOS running gadget to have the ability to use GSM service through it via bluetooth pairing and software. I do not know if it is really hard, but I'm thinking ( actually hoping and praying ) that maybe somebody here could do something about my case, perhaps build a workaround via a software/app. I would really appreciate it if anybody would take time to work on this project. Additional info which may help, if anybody's interested, I'm running the stock update Android 4.3 for the Nexus 7 2012 (now rooted via wugfresh's toolkit).
