Grand theft auto 3 compatability - Continuum General

Anybody know if it will work with the continuum?
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App

give it a try and let us know.

i just got it from questionable means to see id probably would buy it if it worked but my phone completly freezes when i load it id hold of from buying it until a couple more updates are rolled out.

Are you running the verizon stock rom (2.1) or did you flash 2.2 thanks to the awesome talent in these forums?
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App

2.2, hopefully they can get it running on this phone, seems like a great deal for 5 bucks
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App

id defenitly fork over the 5$ rockstar kind of pissed me off on this one though because if your not sure your phone is supported and u buy it u have to download the 400mb file witch takes longer than 15 minutes on most peoples connections so u wouldnt be able to refund it once u found out it dosnt work
witch is very shady if u ask me

Yeah it is definitely not best business practices
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App

If I can slip my two cents in here. The refund issue is supposition, at best. Wouldn't it make more sense to contact the dev and ask him what his refund policy is, if the game doesn't work, considering the timeframe for downloading the data?

New phone trade in...

Hey guys, I've been wondering about something recently. Does anyone know sprint's policy on phone exchanges? Basically, I have an epic and this is my 3rd replcement phone which is STILL going crazy. I was wondering since this is my 3rd phone should I try waiting till the nexus s 4g comes out to replace with that since its a "similar phone"? Or should I just exchange now for whatever? Thanks
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
slim and no chance of exchanging it for a nexus imho. they will just change it out for another epic
Its like a crazy number of replacements before they will give you a new one, let alone upgrade. Doesn't hurt to tty though. I have better luck when calling
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
What I would do is go ahead and take it in and get a replacement. Hopefully the next one won't go all crazy on you. Then, if you really want the Nexus S, when it comes out, sell your Epic and use that money to put towards the Nexus.
There is no comparable replacement to the Epic (yet), so you'll keep getting Epics if they are exchanged. Nexus S will not be comparable.

Doesn't matter... Sprints not going to just give you one of there next top phones to replace an older supposed top of the line that did live up to its potential. Not with out a fight at least.
As one of the other relies stated it takes a lot of trade ins before they would offer you a different phone.
It took me 8 Treo 800w's(3 in one visit) and about a weeks worth of calling customer services and retentions before they finally gave me a Treo Pro as a replacement.
They even wanted me to use my early upgrade about a month early. I did get to stick of to them a month later... used my upgrade to get the Pre(lol) and sold the Pro for 300$.

I've had pretty good success through email, but you have to be reasonable. You might be able to swap it for an EVO. Just be nice they tend to be more willing to help if your nice.

Motorola refuses to repair xoom

Sent my bricked xoom in to Motorola a few weeks ago, they called today claiming it was not repairable, they are sending it back tomorrow. They didn't mention anything about it being rooted, just stated they will not cover it. I guess I asked for it.....

It's a sad day for you
This is why I got my 1 year warranty from Bestbuy. They cover it regardless of what I flash.
I wonder if there is any way to pull that off with the best buy warranty, any idea how long it is till you can no longer buy a warranty
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Wow..that must be sad..and that's the reasn why I didn't root my xoom yet even I am eagerly want to root it and upgrade it with android 3.1..cause u know..things might get unlucky...

You can purchase the Best Buy PSP (their black tie service plan) up until the day you can return your Xoom for a refund (30 days / 45 if you are a silver rewards member). With the Best Buy PSP you can literally trash your Xoom and they'll give you another one (stupid policy IMO). This includes rooting/hacking/flashing/doing whatever the hell you want to it.

You're making a smart decision. Unless you are 110% comfortable with development tools I would always advice against rooting and flashing custom software on your Xoom. In almost every single instance where I've seen someone come post about their bricked Xoom it was obvious that they didn't have the first CLUE what they were doing.
It was bricked by clockwork SD partition for some reason now they say they can't fix it
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
To OP, sorry to hear that. I had the same issue as you and the whole process from the day I called to the day I received the new Xoom was 7 days. I was kinda suprised, was thinking that I might have to pay for the repair. Maybe too many bricked Xoom sent in for repair with the same issue.

How bout that, homeowners covers it with a 50$ deductible, I guess ill be more careful next time
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Does it turn on at all? I mean i am assuming it to be stuck in boot loop or something.
Might you try flashing with RSDlite?

Can't or won't?
I wonder if it would be worth your while calling Motorola and explaining exactly what has happened, mention that you'd be willing to pay for a repair subject to cost? It would be a real shame if they can't help you out.
Motorola had my xoom for 3 weeks. Just got a call.from the customer advocacy office telling me it is not repairable and it is not covered under warranty, I offered to pay and they said no,
it is stuck at MOTO dual core, volume buttons are unresponsive

At this point if you got it covered under homeowners whats the point.
PS: I'd like to know how you got it covered for only a $50 deductable. Is there an addon to your insurance that covers electronics?
Yes there is a home computer and electronics add on for 15 bucks a year. Pretty much equivalent to best buys black tie warranty only better!! I didn't even know I had it till today. I pretty much wanted to post this as a warning, Motorola seems to have had enough but who knows. I figured they would replace it so they wouldn't get any bad publicity since sales are somewhat weak, but I was wrong. Oh well live and learn I guess

So you were hoping they would honor a voided warranty cause sales are weak? Don't want to be dickish but thats the risk we run rooting and flashing. It's like if i bought a new car put a blower on it and blew the motor. I couldn't take it back and say fix it. But glad to hear you found a way to get a xoom.
Not honoring a voided warranty is one thing; we all take on that responsibility the moment we unlock the device. Refusing to repair the device even if you are willing to PAY for the repairs is quite another. Hard to believe the thing is just a throw-away.
I have liberty mutual insurance, I sent it to Motorola not expecting anything but it can't hurt to try, I work in the auto business and we warranty a lot of things that are or should void the warranty but in order to keep happy customers and no bad press we just warranty it, I figured they might just fix it like they have for others, oh well, maybe ill post a YouTube video of it stuck at the MOTO screen and use it for Target practice Haha, or even start a site called WWW.trashmyxoom.com. Haha only thing to do now is laugh it off ....oh and don't do it again!

Bummer bro. Sorry to hear that. I wonder if your provider could help you. Is there a replacement you can use until the sgs3 comes out this summer?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA

There isn't a Samsung Fascinate 4G for Verizon. That's probably the TELUS version. Which carrier are you using?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
Im with Telus.
Also thinking about getting a Samsung S2X but hoping it can be rooted and similar rom installed like the ICS as everything worked with that.
for future reference check out prey, lookout, findmydroid, etc. these are all apps that can track your phone if it gets stolen, you just send the phone a key word in a text message or something and it will enable gps and give you coordinates and stuffs.

THANKS wish i would of known about that before this happen.
Get plan b in market. Its lookout but if u forgot to have it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
yeah that is one course of action, if you hadn't changed your google password then you could go on the play store website on your computer and download plan b and it will install itself on the phone and help you find it.

Does anyone still have their continuum in service?

Just wondering if anyone else still has their continuum in service through Verizon still or am I the only one still using it as my everyday mobile phone?

Mine is still my everyday phone! I'm a student, I don't have the cash for a new one, hahaha
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda premium
Yup, it's my everyday driver too. Does most everything I need it to, why spend money on a new one?

low memory (dont have time to format sd-ext)
so i just tapatalk text and talk on that one
my sons continuum is MIA
mine is for dev cause it is a great device (my 1st android also) so you know...
I have an upgrade avaliable but honestly I don't even know what phone to get next I really like my continuum so I have been hanging on to it.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda app-developers app
My upgrade is coming up on black friday, and I think I may be ditching my continuum after all I've gone through with it.
Idk, maybe I'll stick with it for a little bit after that, but I'll probably be going to a galaxy nexus or a stratosphere.
Don't get strat. No ril released. My fiance had one and I started theming for it.
It is a good mid grade phone, though, just upset she broke it before I could play with it lol

Daily driver here too.. I like it because of its size.. I dont need a mini flat screen tv in my pocket.. I just wish cell phone manufacturers would stop making phones bigger and bigger. Its like cell phones are de-evolving..
Cellphones are getting bigger again... Next thing you know, TV's are gonna get smaller! Then computers are gonna be the size of a room again
This was not a good realization.
Still my one and only. It's size was the leading reason for me getting also. I don't like apples either.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using xda premium
I know it's been a couple months since the last post but this is my everyday, maybe even after my "upgrade" date in march. If I take the gb plunge I'll probably keep it as long as possible. Largely thanks to all of you.

Honestly I never came close to 2gb I think the most I have ever used is like 800mb the only way you really hit 2gb is if you stream music or watch movies using your 3g, when I do that I always connect to wifi. Whenever wifi is available I connect to it I though 3g was really slow so i never used it unless I had to.

My mom also had a continuum and I upgraded her phone today we ordered it offline and it came I upgraded it and the rep that did it didnt take away unlimited data so she still has it, so I guess is depends on who activates the phone for you.
If you buy a subsidized phone you have to upgrade, otherwise you still can keep unlimited data for now but I have heard even that will be going away soon to where everyone will have to upgrade.

Needing to purchase 30 smart phones

We are starting a new company and need at least 30 smart phones. They don't need to be the latest, greatest phones. Just a bar phone with a 3megpixal camera.
Can someone give me an idea where to look.
Thanks

This is not a member found deal.. and a simple google search would fetch you so many options
Even if you were to go to a local store and ask him 30 phones, i bet you may get a good deal..
