Hey guys! I've had the Arc for about 2 weeks now but Ive decided to return it, since I have the WiFi dropping connection problem and cant seem to find a way to solve the problem. So I updated to 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.42), but I need the original Brazilian VIVO firmware! Anyone with a good heart could upload it for me?
Apreciate the help!

É melhor ainda colega, não vem com o monte de lixo que a ROM das operadores vem.
Um abraço.
If your bootloaders locked just use seus or pc companion to repair the stock firmware.

You don't need to do this...
Just send it back and wait your new phone.
They'll not verify what's the firmware inside your cellphone.
Trust me,they all are a bunch of "animais tapados".
OK thanks for the answers! What rom are you guys using? Wifi working ok? No dropping connection problems??
I´m using UK generic with TIM liberty. No dropping wifi problems. Altought the 3g service offered by Tim is such a shame.

2. 3.4? Im on tim's 3g also and I actually find it pretty good
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App
yes, 2.3.4. My 3g connection is always slow, it takes ages to load a page or a photo from fb, downloading from market is a nightmare, and IM+ always loose connection. Maybe it´s just here, in Curitiba/PR.

I have a Galaxy S from Three (Ireland) and I want to unbrand this sucker. I'm sick of waiting for Froyo to be released (Three will not confirm nor will they give a release date) and even when it is updated, Im sure it will slow my phone down like it has done with the 2.1 Eclair. Im fairly new to this and don't know where to start. Help would be much appreciated
what do you want to remove from the phone?
unless it shows a 3 logo at boot up, and uses a 3 custom user interface theme
i don't think it is branded at all
Hi AllGamer,
This is more or less what I want to do. I has loads of 3 crap on it. I have played with Galaxys that arent branded (dont have operator crap loaded on) and they seem to run a lot smoother. If I unbrand this, will it make it easier to upgrade to the stock froyo 2.2 released by samsung? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Yeah I have the same problem, my phone is on 3 as well. I had a nokia n95 about 3 years ago ago and 3 never released an update where vodaphone had around 6 or 7. I'm looking to debrand mine as well for same reasons. You can't surf the net using wireless as you have you go through the 3 network and this is the same for most apps. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Well I've read the three update is coming very soon to the UK, so never fear. Its Ireland thats the problem. They emailed a lad on an irish forum and told him they dont know when it will be ready in Ireland anyone able to help?
I 'unbranded' my phone from Optus in Australia, I rooted it and downloaded Titanium Backup, from there you can choose to freeze and eventually unfreeze programs. Freezing the program removes it from your Applications, unfreezing it returns it.
Not sure if that's what you were asking!
If you want to completely debrand it I suggest you just flash a new firmware.
Using Odin3, flash XWJM8 and then if you want Froyo right away flash JPO. You will see how smooth that is

Which should I go for Ireland?
OXA *Multi CSC* (for France, Germany, Italy, Poland, UK, UK & Ireland)
OXX *Multi CSC* (for Austria, Baltic, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland)
I am not sure there. Don't think you can go either way though..

My Phone is now running Froyo 2.2. Wanna say a big thanks to Bess833. Nice one for the guide/help dude
the update to Froyo for the I9000T is ready...!!!
just connect the phone to KIES and update it.
Which country?
I`m from Argentina.
New Version: PDA:JP9 PHONE:JP9 CSC:JP9 (TTT)
Where can we download 19000T JP9?
I want to get my i9000T back to stock. It's been updated with 2.2.1 and registry hack (Europe) . I'd like to flash with ODIN to bring back to stock - to allow for updates with KIES. I plan to give the phone to a friend.
I updated my Galaxy with kies, but it's not working as it did
Hi Raulito, I'm from Argentina too, and updated the phone to the same firmware you did. Wich is your provider Claro, Personal, Movistar?.
I use Claro, but now I can't navigate using 3G, can't use the data network despite using this network is ticked in the settings menu.
The APN is the same I was using with the older eclair.
Are you experiencing something like this?
Is this the same as I9000XFJP9 ?
what about telcel from mexico? anybody tried that? i have 2.2.1 with the XWJS5 update and dont want to go back to check.

Anyone in Ireland get the Gingerbread update since its re-roll out on Samsung Kies??
Checking everyday but all I get is you have the latest firmware
Love the phone but pretty pissed off at Samsung with how slow they are to update the phones.
here we are stuck with 2.1 man, so you should consider yourself lucky
really....
its not a re rolout - they use old builds with some branding and new modems
at least that is what i can say about todays uk o2 ginge
that is jvh_jv3_jv2.tar so
good old JVH base (vodaphone had JV9)
JV3 csc i guess thats for uk o2 (vodaphones was JV5)
and some new JV2 modem in opposite to vodaphoneuk JV3
but asian ones seems to be made out of fresher build

Still no 2.2 in Mexico
There roll-outs are very poor.
I have a Samsung Omnia Windows Mobile 6.5 for years now and its never had an update. My son has the Apollo that he got about 8 months ago and again no updates.

Well from my limited knowledge, the carrier takes the update and adds their own stuff to the update. The unbranded updates from samsung come out pretty fast.
If it's your carrier you're waiting on, maybe theyre just taking their time
While I did get my phone from the carrier it's not branded. I have put other carrier sims in it and it worked fine. Think they forgot to brand my on.
Anyway with that in mind, it must be unbranded.
Just wish they would a get a move on.

Mine was Meteor (2.2), I'm on Vodafone though, had a hardware problem and sent it off for free through Vodafone shop, got it back with 2.2.1 (JPY) on it, Kieds never gave me the option to update from 2.2, my friend's phones are all stuck on 2.2.
Bought a JIG, read up on Odin and flashed 2.3.3 (JVB)...

strange....it said...my software cannot be upgraded trough kies...and i just instaled the KH1. Do i need also the kernel from kh1 for a kies update?
EDIT: yes , the kernel is needed..just updated to official kj4
EDIT2: after update...i didn't like it much, and just restore my nadroid backup (vr3.0 KI4,syiah2.1.1)...unfortunately, my baseband remain I9100BVKJ4. Maybe with this baseband, the usb jig exploit will not work anymore ...i will test it tomorrow at work
It's version KJ4.
the update came via kies.

Hi, does it contain signal boost?
HI
I Have a Orange UK handset and i have just had the 2.3.5 Update via KIES

I'm coming from Samsung Galaxy S3 which was soooooo much easier to tinker with. It had a new ROM every week. Anyway, still getting used to my Z2, which I have finally unlocked the bootloader and rooted following the instructions from DoomLord. Anyway, if I flash the 402 UK firmware will I lose root? Can I get it back again if so ? Please excuse my Sony related ignorance !

I'm from Croatia, tmobile branded device and flashing this firmware went very well.
Finally, 402 is on my device...
I tried to wait tmobile but they have to check Sony work, I guess they think they are smarter then Sony's engineers...
This is, actually nice change.
RAM consumption is better and firmware is faster and smoother... (flashed without any wipe)
