[Q] magldr doesn't open sd card - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

i have new htc (not t mobile version) ,
after i downgrade spl from 3.03 to 3.03hspl , i installed magldr but it never boot so i used hspl 4 to reinstall 2.08hspl over the previouse on
now magldr start but whileit boot it says in red sssd karnel fail to open , so i reinstall it again , but same thing, when i try to goto ad recovery it still says fail to open sd card , now i thought may be have to start over every thing
so i started to look for the original rom i never found it , but i had old one i tried to flush va sd card but when i press volume down after i rename the file and copy it to the root it never start flashing
plz i need help i brick my old phone and that another one just i bought
original info:
Os version 5.2.21913(2193.5.0.94)
manila ver. 2.5.20181527.0
rom ver 3.14.707.3
radio ver 2.15.50.14
protocol ver 15.42.50.11u

Have you installed any android rom for magldr or android recovery? Otherwise magldr won't find anything to boot.

i didnt get a chance to , install any thing , cos magldr doesnt work propaply it doesnt recognize the memory card , may be i install wrong version cos this is not the tmobile hd2 , it's another version i know its hd2 t8585 512 ram not 1024 , but i even cant find the original stock room

You can take the stock rom from the htc site. To get the RUU_Signed.nbh file out of the exe, open it with 7zip or winrar and extract it. To flash it from the sd card you have to rename the RUU_Signed.nbh file to LEOIMG.NBH.

i did already i hardly found my stock rom version 3.14.707.3 and that the only one the pone would accept,
i have spl 3.3 and when i use hspl4 i get the choise to flush either 2.08hspl or 3.3hspl but botheway after i install magldr it still doesnt recognize the sd card , and won't open option 8.ad recovery thats why i cant flush any rom ,
but i found a rom dft rom, that was the only one i could've flush using magldr via option 5.usb flush mode ,
the question i cant open ad recovery magldr

just try flashing the radio 2.15.50.14 !!
also make sure that you have hspl 2.08 as no other version(spl/hspl) is compatible for android and wp7-7.5 !!
do a task29 and start over !!

guys i really approciate ur trying to help but t seems u dont know what ur talking abut , i already have that radio version by default its my original radio version in my phone , so i would give it away and use cracked one!!!

To get option 8 working, you need cwr installed not clk
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

yes u r right actually i get confused between them , if u plz tell me the diffrent clk and cwr???i know both of them but they look the same for me

The only difference I know is, that clk ist taking a little lower of your Battery

MAGLDR and CLK are different bootloaders.
MAGLDR supports rmnet, tetris, but not offmode charging.
CLK only suports PPP, you don't have the GOGOGO screen and offmode charging is supported.
Which one you choose is a matter of taste.
CWR is only the Recovery to flash android. You have to install cwr into the Magldr or CLK. You can use HD2 Nand Toolkit to do this.

[Q] MAGLDR: Help

Hi
I have a few question about MAGLDR (i dind't find the answer on xda and google or the answers were not clear for me).
Actually when i want to install an Android ROM i used only the ROM which can be installed with an Android directory + haret.exe + ...
I would like to go to MAGLDR because there are more ROMs available but i have questions.
I know that there is 2 modes with MAGLDR: NAND or SD
Sorry in advance for maybe the stupid questions :
1/ Is the "Boot AD SD" mode equivalent to an install with an Android directory + Haret.exe + .... (=First way to install Android on Leo device found a long time ago) ?
2/ Is the "Boot AD SD" mode of MAGLDR doesn't touch to Winmo ROM: we still boot on WinMo and after go to Android?
3/ Do we need to reinstall fully the WinMo version after installing an SD Android version with MAGLDR?
4/ Is it possible after poweron to choose between Winmo and SD Android installed with MAGLDR?
Regards
Well, well, well...
U have that all wrong m8. U r just lost in all of that.
MAGLDR is only one of the tools used for flashing there r some more..
Basically u have two options how to flash your Android.
1st DFT mode - u need to have MAGLDR installed
2nd CWR(ClockWorkMode Recovery) mode - u need to have MAGLDR + CWR
Well I think u should stay with the 1st option cos u new to this and u can find it easier than CWR
So go here **HD2 Android NAND Development - Sticky Roll-Up Thread**
And here [GUIDE] Flashing Your First HD2 NAND Android Rom [For Newbs]
U will find all what u need there

No is not. This is something different

If u flash your android ROM than your WM is gone and if u want it back than u have to reflash it again

MAGLDR will replace the Hardspl i have?
There are still something that i don't understand;
Why using MAGLDR in "Boot AD SD" it erases the WinMo ROM?
In this mode the Androir Rom is not only in the SD card?
Regards
No MAGLDR will not replace the HARDSPL.MAGLDR is just the software whats loaded to the phone and is used to flash, update,..etc
About the Boot AD SD- this option is used only if u want to boot from MAGLDR into CWR whats another software whats u using to flash the ROM from SD card.
In MAGLDR is also an option "USB Flasher " what u using if u want to flash ROM using DFT method whats similar to flashing the WM ROM's. So u connect the phone with USB to the PC than u boot into MAGLDR and u choose USB Flasher. Than phone will wait for connection with PC. After u just run the DAF.exe from the ROM of your choice what u downloaded and the flash procedure starts.
Its similar to the WM flashing.
In CWR flashing u copy the ROM into your SD card and u flash it from there with no need of PC.
If u flash the Android ROM into the phone by DFT or CWR mode either of these erase the WM ROM
Also if u use NAND ROM its mean the whole ROM is flashed into the internal memory of the phone where the others use SD card to store the data on it to save the internal memory.
And u can also express your gratitude just by simple click on the Thanks button on the bottom of my posts.

Bricked or?

Hi there
I got an HD2 from a friend (he bought off ebay) and seems to just boot to the Tmobile sticking together logo and won't boot.
I don't think it charges as well...
there was no lines (radio?) at the bottom of the Sticking Together pink square screen...
is this phone bricked? or can I still flash a rom?
Ok try this, turn the phone off then hold the low volume botton n the power botton at the same time, n if it takes u to the bootloader then u r good, just search on how to install a rom of ur choise, good luck

Well the fact that it will even turn on means it is not bricked. A bricked HD2 will not even turn on the most it will do is flash tihe led light and vibrait a couple of times.
Follow the instructions of the above post and pull up bootloader, if bootloader comes up you can save the HD2. Depending on if you want to flash a official srock ROM or a custom ROM to the HD2 will dictate your next step.
If you want a official stock ROM then just download and flash the official update from T-Mobile.com just type in HTC HD2 update in the search box on the home page and you will find it. You will have to enter the IMEI number to download it wich you can find this number behind the battery. To flash it connect the HD2 to a computer via USB cable while in bootloader and wait for the serial in the white bar at the bottom of the bootloader screen to change to USB and the computer to show it recognizes the HD2 then run the update utility and follow all the on screen instructions.
If you want to flash a custom ROM as in custom Windows Mobile, NAND Andriod ROM, or Windows Phone 7 ROM then you will have to flash HSPL to the HD2. Download HSPL4 and flash 2.08 HSPL if hou want to flash a NAND Andriod ROM as MAGLDR only supports 2.08 HSPL. Or a Windows Phone 7 Rom, or flash 3.03 if you just want to flash a custom Windows Mobile ROM.
Now if you want a NAND Andriod ROM or Windows Phone 7 you will have to download MAGLDR and flash it to the HD2.
If you want a custom Windows Mobile ROM download the ROM of your choice and fladh it using the .exe or RUU wich ever one the ROM has. Note do all flashing of what I have previously mentioned via the method I mentioned before.
If you are wanting to flash a NAND Andriod ROM or Windows Phone 7 ROM then download the ROM of your coice and flash it using MAGLDR and the instructions of the ROM developer in thread for the ROM.
Now this is very important. I see from the picture you have a T-Mobile(TMOUS) HD2 so no matter what you do, do not flash a ROM with a radio version that reads like these 2.04.50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any radio that is x.xx.51.xx they will brick/kill a TMOUS HD2.

I would recommend flashing a stock T-Mobile ROM, since that appears to be the flavor of the phone. This will install the correct radio. Once the phone is working, continue as per normal for flashing the ROM. You will have to reinstall hardspl.
thanks for the info guys! i really appreciate the support!

try this:
1) download your stock ROM.
2) put it on your SD card via a card reader, you want an .NBH file.
3) rename the file LEOIMG.NBH
4) make sure the phone is off, make sure your SD card is back in your phone.
5) hold down and power
6) it should go to a tri-color screen and say something about flashing the image, hit power to confirm
7) it should flash no problems.
MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT ROM FOR A TMOBILE US HD2
Have exactly the same problem with my friends phone.
Its a TMOUS and sticks on the same boot screen.
He screwed it up when trying to install Android NAND on it.
I can enter bootloader And I have managed to get rid of MAGLDR and CWM.
I have HSPL 3.03 installed on it, but when I try to install the latest ROM from TMOUS it fails at 8% and tells me that
'ERROR 290: INVALID COMMAND
This update Utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please check your update utility'
Tried copying the relevant file to the SD card and renaming it leoimg.nbh but the install fails HERE aswell with the error:
"RADIO_V2 - RSA Fail"
I managed to install an energyrom onto it, but it wouldnt go past the initial boot screen
Any help appreciated

Try running a Task 29 on your friends HD2. This willtotally clean out the NAND memory of the HD2 and reformat it, kinda sounds like that is what is needed to be done. He may have messed the NAND memory format up when he was trying to install the Andriod. You will have to reflash a Windows Mobile ROM after you run the Task 29 as it will not ha e a ROM on the phone then. You will not have to reflash HSPL cause it will not remove it.
It seems that the problem is RADIO related. I can task 29, and I can install The latest Energyrom, but I CANT install a radio.
There is no radio ON the phone at the minute it seems. When I try to do a radio install, it asks me if I want to go from version ' ' to the update I am using.
None of the installers see a radio on the phone, and trying to install the radio always fails at 96%. This would seem to be the same if I try to install the official TMOUS latest ROM with radio from SD Card. It fails at the radio install part.......
Maybe time for a new thread for this one.......

HD2 stuck on android Logo, and WM failed installing.

Hello. I just bought a HTC HD2 really cheap, the only problem is that it is stuck on android logo.
The seller says that after he installed Android on it he was unable to uninstall it and install winmo again. and now it is stuck on android logo and its needed to pull the battery to continue.
That is the info i have got so far (havent recieved the hd2 yet)
Anything u can suggest me to do when i recieve it?
Thanks
Hi lobfredd.
U must be check your HD2 type (t mobile or EU) then check HPSL ready yet (Volume down + power on)
then with HSPL intalled U can format your phone with Task 29 with newest Radio here

Use same way as flash as your rom flashing ^^
after Task29 your phone will be clean, it mean all partition deleted all data and all operation too.
all step for prepairing done
U can flash your Original Winmo Rom (remember chose right rom type EU or Tmous ) or Run Android NAND via MAGDR (search thí forum for useful threads)
Hey, Thanks!
I am pretty sure its EU (Since bought in norway)
I have read somewhere about ppl bricking their phone by flashing radio, is this the case? can i brick it by flashing new radio?
It depends. Really. If it's a TMOUS HD2, you can brick it. But you can't if it's EU.
Don't be surprised if you will see T-Mobile logo on the top - TMOUS HD2s aren't rare, even in EU.
Download a stock Rom from htc.com
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash
(after it is done, install hspl 2.08, radio 2.15, clk/magldr, and from cwm wipe data/cache/dalvik cache)
Source
I just got the phone.
When i first turned it on i saw NRG's bootscreen then an android logo (where it became stuck)
I booted into the tricolor mode and saw that it had 3.03HSPL, so i used HSPL4 to install 2.08HSPL instead, when i turn it on now i get into the magldr v1.13.
Should i now do the task29 with radio 2.15?
(btw it was an EU HD2)
So with task29 you delete everything on the cell phone I have is with my htc hd2 android with task29 and then changed with original rom from www.htc.com on win6.5.
If the memory card
I think it may be radio bricked as it always fail on RADIO with when i try SD method with stock rom, or any radio.
however i have managed to get it success with Radio_2_07_51_22_2 and Radio_2_14_50_04.
but i havnt got any closer to booting the OS i think
i heard that if i install a rom without radio it may boot?
any1 know of any rom?
In magload do you have the option to enter clockwork mod?

Most of the custom WM-ROMs are without radio.
And also all android ROMs.
I had the same problem with a mainboard.
Was not able to install a radio.
And no FW will boot without radio.
I never found a solution. When radio ist bricked, the mainboard is useless

[Q] Problem staying connected NAND while magldr downgrading to 2.0

hi all,
we are trying to put android on a HD2 but i work work because we get disconnected from the moment i start downgrading the phone to 2.0.
anyone got a clue to fix this lil problem ?
regards Remon and Teymur
i THINK what you mean is downgrading to spl 2.0??? if i'm correct what you want to downgrade to is actually Hspl 2.08 (if on a USA branded HD2 with 1024 nand and red/green call/end buttons) CHANGING TO HSPL MUST BE DONE FIRST (only the radio can be flashed before)
i can't remember what Hspl is for the EU Leo ... Hspl 3.x ... i believe.
hope i helped. cheers

we are running spl 3.03.0000 now and we need to get it to hspl 2.08 i believe in order to do magldr so we can actually install android on it.
but the usb disconnects we we try magldr to get it to hspl 2.08,
so we probably need an alternative way.
got any clues ?
you need to flash hspl before magldr via bootloader (tri-color screen) then flash mad, etc
Phone off
Into bootloader
Connect USB
run Hspl4 ... make sure you choose 2.08.hspl only
When it reboots go straight back into bootloader
USB
Run magldr installer (no need to change radio if you were running 3.14 rom cos radio will already be fine (((previous post that said radio can be flashed without hspl is wrong)))
When it reboots it will start magldr menu
Choose USB flasher
Use nand toolkit to apply partitioning your target rom requires-this step will also apply cwm (clockwork)
Restart into magldr, option 8 ad recovery
In cwm recovery choose advanced partition SD card (assuming you want an ext partition to increase internal storage,)
Back into cwm mounts and storage, mount SD card, copy across the new rom.zip
In cwm choose flash zip from SD
That's it.
oh, thanks sam. i wasnt sure if anything could be flashed before or not. i knew radio had something special about when it can be flashed, like it needed to be flashed first (if need be) right?

if you were starting from stock, the radio would either be the second or third thing you flashed, , HSPL first, then magldr and radio in either order.
magldr simply wont start 'till the radio (and hspl) are correct.

Rom not booting, only magldr, need to get back to stock

Hi .... I had an hd2 for some time which got kept in the locker for too long..The status as of now is like this.
1. MIUI ROM installed on NAND doing bootloops
2. SD Card formatted .. so no recovery
3. Trying to use magldr usb storage disconnects the phone
4. Can get into the red yellow green screen with status showing usb but when i try to run a stock rom it cannot find the device.
Magldr 1.13 is still running and I have hspl 2.08
Is there any way i can get back the stock firmware installed? Any help will be appreciated. thanks!!

Have you tried flashing a stock ROM from the SD card? The procedure is outlined here, it doesn't seem too hard. Since you can't connect in MAGLDR use an SD card reader to copy the stuff across.
why no recovery; recovery in magldr 1.13 is stored in nand.So you can go magldr--->ad recovery and run recovery.then wipe all userdata and see if your rom starts again working ok

Well, you say it doesn't connect to the PC but what about in MAGLDR? As in the USB flasher? If it does, just flash a new version of CWM (probably through the NAND Toolkit).
If that doesn't work, try a stock ROM from the SD Card and start over.

I was trying to use the USB Flasher earlier and the installation would fail halfway through with various errors.. Tried with 4 different roms.. So decided to do a stock rom from sdcard .. tried a WWE and got an error 28002...couldnt get into magldr even now... Anyways got Task29 ..booted in the red yellow green screen and doing a wipe+hspl+magldr+recovery. As of now it stuck on 0% at the wipe process but it does say 10 minutes for flashing and its been only 2. Lets see.....
Ok the situation as of now is this... Tried installing a stock rom which gave me spl 3.03 ... Magldr no longer working. Task 29 fails to install anything. Trying to install a stock ruu.exe from the rgb screen tells me that the update utility cannot be used for my phone.
Any ideas??

So now in the bootloader it says that you have SPL3.03 rather than HSPL 2.08 right? In that case, maybe try reflashing HSPL then MAGLDR etc. because these won't flash unless you have HSPL. I assume that your main aim is to go back to Android after you've sorted this out anyway.
The way I see it - get HD2 toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Install HSPL 2.08 like Nigeldg said and flash magldr or clk anew. I personally use clk 1.5 and it's childlishly easy to use and I had absolutely no prolems. I attached a zipped .nbh file you can flash after HSPL from HD2 toolkit. It's a new clk with recovery. It's obviously not mine, but I can't remember the thread I got it from (I keeep it just in case since downloaded). You can repartition from your phone then and install whatever ROM you need from recovery. The only problem can be flashing HSPL - if this doesn't go well you'd have to do it from SD like someone suggested.

Yeah don't use the HD2 toolkit, go to the HSPL thread and download the HSPL4 package from there. Just select HSPL2.08 and flash it. The toolkit uses the older HSPL3 package if I'm not mistaken.
