With the release of WebOS source code coming up, I would love to see WebOS for the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 and/or the Samsung Galaxy S2. I love android but I thing the WebOS UI kills both that of android and iOS. As I have no coding experience what so ever, I would be willing to back such a product through donations, testing, etc.
+1 on this for Acer Iconia A500 or HD2. I'd still use Android day to day, but WebOS is pretty awesome. Beats the hell out of iOS, no doubt about that. It'd be cool to be able to dual boot or load a WebOS rom from SD. This is all probably wishful thinking, but hey a guy can dream right.

Dual booting Android and Web OS on the Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 would be awesome too.
Galaxy tab 10.1 I support this
The HD2 would be a good idea.
Would like that
Sent from my NexusHD2 using xda premium
HD2 would be even ncier (although I don't own one) due to it's "multi OS thing".. you know, Qtopia, Ubuntu, WindowsMobile, WindowsPhone, Android etc.!
But for me personally Dualboot on Asus Transformer would be nice, it's quick, it's sleek, it's stable, it's open!
When exactly will this fall? I would love to see this on my galaxy S 4g... if possible... hmm... I wonder... Please let me know when this happens!!
WebOs for Android
It just funny that HP Touchpad owners are crying for Android and Android tablets are crying for WebOS. I have a Touchpad and love WebOs. These devs on XDA seem like they can do anything. Simply Amazing!
I would love some webOS on my phone. Could be hard with the lack of a physical home button.

Wouldn't a dual boot of some other os be nice right about now? whats an os out we should get to dual boot?
None. No other device uses the same hardware as ours and writing drivers for an entire OS is an unbelievable undertaking we don't have the devs for.

They don't have a dev community so not really. So far there has been one successful "jailbreak" that ruins their ability to update forever. Not much of a future there.

For 7 right? I know Windows Mobile 6 had the ability to dual-boot with Android just fine...

The droid incredible can dual boot 2 android roms but that's becouse of its generous internal memory. It would be near impossible for us on our pathetic 400mb or so.

That's what convinced me to come to Android. I had a Windows Mobile 6 phone, and after dual booting with Android for about a month, I realized I liked it a lot better and decided that my next phone would be an Android one. And that was a big deal for me, because I was developing apps for my Windows phone but had never made an Android app before.

The OS has nothing to do w/ whether you can dual boot or not. But more depends on the hardware and and what software and/or drivers the community has put together.
Comming from winmo, I see no reason why anyone would want to go to it from android.

Why would the xoom, being the first honeycomb tablet, be first for these things?
Samsung makes touchwiz for its products, so it would never be available for a Motorola device first. Regardless of which tablet came first.

Does the Xoom have the same audio codec WM8903 as the Galaxy Tab 10 and Transformer? If not, then that's probably why we don't have Voodoo sound.
I dont understand why in motorola section our dev are so conservative...i think that people bought honeycomb tablet vs ipad for play a little.
Custom rom, launcher and more....

Same here. Already a custom ROM availbe for the nexus s so that's a good sign
I would like to see it on my Acer,Asus and EVO,but the HTC EVO is still in the gingerbread phase,so it might be a few for my phone.
those sayin they would prefer honeycomb on their tablets.
remember ICS will have source out, meaning REAL custom roms
honeycomb will never get this.
therefor ICS will be the right choice for tablets!

Can´t wait for this to happen !
I´ve been using ubuntu for years on small netbooks and laptops, if they get it to work properly on our "tabs" then it would become a serious alternative to android ! :good:
This looks SWEET!!!
I'm curious when exactly we're going to get a download option to get this going.

Maybe after MWC which is the 25th of this month... Check out www.ubuntu.com is where I see that.
I would love to see this on our Tab, but considering the low-end requirements...
I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but this will probably never see the light of day on our tabs. We do have a Desktop Ubuntu ARM port, and a fully working Linux kernel for other OSes but even with everything in front of us, I doubt it will happen.
I think the only way we could get it is if someone takes the source code and probably do some crazy mods to it to get it to it to make it work for our tabs.
I am quite the optimist so here's to hoping!
They will publish a porting guide in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting, so there is a lot of hope!

I think Android will evolve together with Chrome OS into a really good OS.
For sure I want to try out ubuntu on my 10.1 tablet, but it will never get a big userbase. (just my oppinion

Not really. If the device supports CM 10.1 (which it does), then it supports Ubuntu. Canonical even posted a full guide. Problem is, who's going to do it?
Edit: Okay, I guess we do have someone to do it. So there's hope
Sorry. I've been trying, but it hasn't been syncing. I'll try on my build server when i get a chance. Hopefully by this weekend, I will have a chance. Not sure why the sources won't download locally but my server should have no issue.
