Has anybody managed to tweak the HTC firmware update that went out for the release of Mango, for the HD2? As i'm sure it would solve a lot of our issues. Compass drivers being one of them.
Developers keep up the good work!!!

Ok. Would just like to answer my own question, as so many people viewed this thread. As I am using BTTF rom 7740. Xboxmod has just kindly released his SP1 cab. Which fixes many HTC driver issues as well as adding extra tweaks to camera, etc. A big thank you to a guy with such passion to keep the HD2 alive and up there with the latest smart phones. Respect!!!
The link can be found in the developers section.

Android on Hd2 is unofficial and there are no official updates. There are many different builds that are updated pretty regularly. Please do some more reading.

hello fellow xda members, i just wanted to know how close are the chefs to get the camera working on the desire HD build, ive read that is not only on the HD2 but on every other device? can you guys just replace the cam drivers with the one that come with the HD build?
thanks
Camera won't work until desirehd source codes are released, which can possibly take months. Or it may be next week. It's up to HTC. There's nothing the chefs can do until then.

No one is even working on it as far as I know.
I know most builds are not tmous compatible, but can we have some builds just for tmous usa only?
I see one so far.... can we have the fix for mms blurry issues and size. Ty for your time!!

I agree. if there are more builds for tmobUS, I think it may help solve mms and data connection freeze. But we are still very appreciative of their current builds.

I am deeply appreciative for all the great work the devs have done. Just like the Rom section has tmous and all other roms sections. But Ty too all who answer me!!

I have tried probably almost every build on this forum.
They are all compatible. I am currently using Darky's newest build with excellent results.
Before that it was Mdeejays Evo; which I may go back to.
With all due respect; Give it a break. Do the research. There are many threads about how to resolve minor issues such as you describe.
I have no problems with most builds, but I did try the one tmous build recently available and it drained my battery faster than a drunk drains a pint. I had a full battery and a few hours later the phone shut down from lack of juice. That was a first.

Not only that, but CMYLXGO released a tmous compatible build before you made this thread. Please do some research before you make a post like this. And, remember the cooks are doing this for free. They're just sharing something, if you don't like it, or it doesn't work the way you want it to, learn how to customize it; or make your own.

If you don't mind to read, go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774672&highlight=tmobile
You can patch any build , or download patched build
once i get more time and somebody actually helps me properly set up my dev environment, you'll be seeing more T-Mo US builds from me.
The whole lack of building from code is what has stopped me from doing further work.
Ty justwonder, instead of a nasty comment, you helped me.. I have read countless pages, and sometimes you don't have the time to look up stuff, sorry xda community if I bothered you... jeeeeesh

I don't know what you guys mean US-compatible builds. AFAIK, only the APN is what should make it compatible, and, if that's the case, then all that's needed is for you to put cyanogen's APN list inside Android/root/system/etc on your SD so that it gets written to the system and make most APNs available.
You can download the newest CM APNs list from here:

Is it possible to run a whole new OS (in this case I was thinking WP7 Mango Beta) on our phones. It would be like a port over. I'm not talking about a Metro UI, I'm talking about the real OS. The reason why I ask this is because I'm getting really bored with my phone. I think it would be cool dualbooting a whole new OS.
So, is it possible?
I know on the HD2 it is possible. A phone that originally only supported windows 6.5 now has native android, windows 7, meego and ubuntu. So it is not a far stretch of imagination to say that it is possible on the mt4g. Will it be done? I highly doubt it, but hey, who knows. Maybe you can be the first to do it.

Well I would have to say that since there are licensing issues with any version of windows that this is unlikely... As it would then be a pirated copy of the OS!

The hd2 is what brought this to my attention. I had another question, how is hd2 able to run windows phone 7 without pirating issues?

The hd2 was originally a windows phone. It can be used with android because some people were really determined and put in some hard work to make it work on that phone.

Good question! To which my only logical answer is... By law it shouldn't be able too unless there was a leaked test Rom or something. But it was a windows phone to begin with, so maybe less of a priority because of that... The reason the hd2 can run android is cause it is an open source product much like Linux and can be put on anything

If you want until windows 8 comes out, there might be some people working on it. Windows 8 will have ARM support which will make it easier to get working, but would still need drivers for certain functions.

I see....so it, in all technicality, it is possible to get WP7 on our phones, but because of legal issues and hardware compatibility problems, nobody bothers to attempt it?

No one will do it because it's illegal, the devs would get a cease and desist order if they even attempt to put it on other phones....It may be possible but the lack of drivers would make it a no go, I don't think drivers would need to be ported from other phones from htc using mango already.
Dear XDA forum,
I was wondering if it is possible to flash the new Windows OS (Mango) onto my
Galaxy S i9000. I just had a go with it for the first time and love to have it myself.
Im currently running the RC1 of Android 4.0 ICS if that is of any relevance.
Thank you in advance,
Vashan
In one word: NO
It's an closed source operating system so porting is really hard.
All the devs like android so they won't even try porting.
Ok. Thank you for the quick respons.
Or you can also try windows 7 launcher from market.

If its possible, it would be great.
I think it wouldn't be so hard since the Samsung Omnia 7 is almost identical to the Sgs. Being WP7 a closed source operating system the problem, more than the difficulty, are the legal issues.

There is 0% chance of wp7 on sgs. Hd2 is the only non wp7 phone with wp7 port, because it had development drivers released.
