hello guys. I pose the following problem, I'm pretty desperate. 2.3.5 I have everything working perfect android weeks. suddenly begins to walk when you want the external speaker, after blocking the screen back on if you do not remove the battery, and now passes the boot logo. The worst thing is that I can not get either to recovery
I broke the processor?
pd: the phone suffered previous days rain

I'm not sure the rain. days worked well then. **** it all in hours, except the speaker
Water damage is weird. It can be several days after exposure to water before the device breaks. Right now you have 2 options.
1) Take it back to the store and hope that they will replace it under warranty, even though the device is water damaged. There are moisture sensors on the battery and inside the housing of the phone that have probably changed color from white to red. If they check these, they will know that the phone has been exposed to moisture, and they will probably not replace your phone.
2) Try to fix the phone yourself. Find videos on YouTube that show you how to disassemble the Atrix. Disassemble the phone until you can remove the main board (motherboard) from the phone. Soak the main board in 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol for about 2-4 hours. While it is submerged, use a toothbrush to clean the main board of any corrosion you can see on the metal contact points of the main board. Remove the main board from the alcohol bath and let it dry for a couple of hours. Reassemble the phone, turn it on, and pray.
Good luck!

Hi guys,
Yesterday my uncle have accidentally putted on my phone some liquor, amaro Montenegro..
It is entered into auricolar and now when make a call I can't hear clear sound.. maybe the sugar have damaged the headphone..
Should I call the HTC support? Or I can try to solve the problem homemade?
Thanks!
Do not turn on your phone and put it in a bag of rice. Worked perfect with a friend's iphone which was damaged in water.
Please use this remedy at your own risk.
Looks like he already did.
I suggest going for proper support seeing that its more than water
Cheers from my DHD.
you should know, that any water/liquid damage is not under warranty
so you have to pay for it..
i would try to open it myself and clean it..but you'll need some knowledge to do so.

I doubt it will work for alcohol, especially with a liqueur (which that sounds like). It is way too sugary.
I would try cleaning it with some 100% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. You should get that at any pharmacy.
Uff.. but if i disassembly the phone i will void the varranty.. :'(
At HTC support they can see that there is a liquid infiltration? It is sugary...
Yes, HTC will know that it has "water damage". This is impossible to conceal with modern phones.
The critical thing (with ordinary water) is speed - getting rid of it before it rusts the components. So removing the covers and putting a hairdryer on it as soon as possible is the best thing to do. A small amount of water left for a long time will cause a lot more damage than a large amount dried out quickly.
Sea water is particularly bad for it (corrosive). Your liqueur sounds almost as bad.
The phone was repaired in warranty with no problem
Returned today after 14days..

They 'cleaned' it for free? Cool
Wow. Nice service from HTC.
I thought they would know there is water damage and void the warranty.
Yeah,nice service,HTC number one!
Hi there,
My phone got slightly water damaged last night from what I think was beer. It was in my pocket and someone sprayed some beer at me which must have got in it. I didn't realise till this morning by which time I had already had my phone plugged in and charging overnight. I have taken it apart and dried it in the sun. However when I reassemble it, it doesn't switch on. If I hold down the power button for a long time, it vibrates once but nothing more. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks
(I know I should have left it longer to dry btw)
Thanks

Leave it for a couple of days to dry than plug your phone to charge witout battery for 2 min ,than insert battery and battery cover , u will see orange light, press power button hopefully your fone will boot

Beer isn't water imho, If that sticky goo dries you will have a small h*ll to clean it. Take it apart and clean with destilled water, be careful with the microphone it doesn't like water like the rest of the components.
Cheers mate, my beer is coming down in my tummy now, not my phone... =)

take out the battery, SIM & SD Card. Keep the battery cover and the SIM/SD card cover off. Out out in a bag of uncooked rice for twenty four hours, should work

Tho OP says its beer, not water that might have entered the phone. If you dry beer, what can you expect to get?

Still not working, I've left it out to try some more and it still isn't working. What else can I do?
You need to clean it out or you can give the phone to me. v

Try cleaning it with 96% alcohol, in german its called spiritus. It doesn`t produce any shortcuts on the board and dry`s a lot faster and is more aggressive against dirt/dryed fluids remained at the bord than detilled water, even the fluid indicators(at least in defy there were some) on the board will stay white, if they aren`t yet red. Get a small bristle brush(I´ve shorted a painting bristle brush with a scissor), dip it in the "spiritus", brush the board with it (not to weak, but be careful, don`t break parts apart from the board, and do NOT brush the lcd or anything related to it, only the board ). Let it dry for a couple of hours and try. If it doesn`t work, try cleaning it at least a second time. My Defy is working after a serious sea-water damage (ewwww salt+contacts=green oxydation everywhere ). Contacts on the board are back to normal now on my defy.

Dude digitizer is fine may b.. because wen i opened those dots r inside the lcd.. Is there any way that can remove those or i have to new lcd?
If that what is cost of lcd?
It's called hot pixels, commonly it's because of impacts (dropping it etc.) and something like liquid crystals got out of place.
But this is my firse time seeing this happen because of accual "hot" temp.
The way to cure is the same "keep your phone in cold and dry place for about a day",
like under aircon, or put it into waterploof plastic bag and keep in normal refrigurator (not a freezing one).
But becareful, you openned your phone and waterproof seals may come off, your phone may not defy water anymore.
It's may or maynot work, if it not work you might need to replace the LCD (not digitizer, you got it right.)
Goodluck, you'll need it.
Well get a new lcd altogther then shudnt take no more than 5mins to replace when you have the part and just shop around to find a replacement google is you friend and best of luck

Put in a plastic bag and remove the air with a vacuum cleaner and clamp the bag. Is very weak chance to solve the problem but a new lcd is not a fortune and is not very hard to replace.
Hi all. My wife has a Note 4 and our children wasted water on it . We dried the the phone and after 3 days powered on. No damage at all but later we saw that when she wanted to charge it a message appeared on the screen saying that the battery temperature is too low. We ordered a wireless charger but the same message on the phone. I readed some forum and xda gived the answer. I dont want to disassemby the phone and wanted to know if someone can modify something in the kernel or something else to fool the phone to not read the thermistor value that is -20 C.
No one dont have a clue ?
I took my hearth in the teeth and disassembled the phone. Man... its a hell to separate the screen and motherboard from casing but i succeded. After that the water damage was all over the motherboard. I have took a toothbrush and technical alcohol and cleaned all. After that blowed with my heatgun to ged dry and now i have a working charging phone. Here are some photos in case you need some informations.

Hi guys accidentally i dropped my fone in water ... After picking up only the led was woeking and then it too stopped working.. I have now kept it in rice/... My important data is there so can anyone guide me how to retrive my data?
Phone is not responding to Pc/charger..No vibration..
Thanks
Keep it in Rice first is a mistake, water don't damage the phone dissolved minerals in water kill the circuits.
First thing shut off the phone and remove battery, yes take apart your phone don't worry about warranty water damage is not covered anyway, after disconnecting battery you can try to dry with rice, but I would clean it with 99% alcohol or demineralized/distilled water and then rice.

But the thing is the phone auto turned off after getting into watter. I didn't turn off (it wouldn't?) so do you think it's already damaged because I guess it turned automatically off after 1 minute.. and now not responding to the charger as I said.. Thanks ..
It's hard to say if it's damaged or not, it seems like it, like your said screen turn off but led was on, I'll say probably due to short circuits inside.

Ya now not charging.. Also how much would it cost to repair that 'short circuit'? It was heating after taking out from water.. I guess the battery is damaged now..
Maybe if u can't retrieve it you can get out the sd card and get your files
Oneplus2 doesn't have a sdcard.
