[Q] What kernel for extended battery 2400mah? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have a HTC HD2 with extended battery.
I use nand v 30 from langhtang
My battery stops charging at 1230 then current goes to zero when reaching original max. I would really apreciate help on how to solve this problem.
What kernel can I use to get it to charge to 2400mah and how to do it ?

i use this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282435&page=21
Scroll down in 254 post and download attachment.
But want dorimanx or flashovic kernel with this modification.. hope the devs can introduce 2400 mah non original battery mod..
Sorry for my bad english

thank you

i believe most of the newer kernels support extended batteries. tytungs, marcs kernels and all.
good luck!

Uk hd2 with extended battery

A little help please. Currently running darkstone froyo with michyprimas kernal. Everything's fine but a little dated.
After a more current build with a stable kernal for extended battery. Everything i've tried either crashes or reboots due to battery.
Could somebody please point me in direction of a current build/kernal that works with extended battery.
Happy to frig about with wifi drivers etc but found searching was getting cluttered results and as it takes an hour to download, build and test each time hoped somebody would be kind enough to offer a workable solution.
If i stumble across any info will share!.
Thanks

I´m waiting for my extended battery I´ve just bought in Ebay, doing a little investigation of which kernel should work with this type of battery, found that there are at least two known kernels that support: hastarin 7.7 and michyprima r11. I´ve downloaded these three for testing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812465&highlight=extended
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026&highlight=Mdeejay+eVo+Sense
and

If you can test, please tell me how it was.
My ext batt will be in my hands in 15 days

hi chaps,
sorry for delay in replying. Have returned back to problem and am happy to report that MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.0_MDJ_S7.3HD works like a treat with extended battery.

It's usually the kernel not the build itself that support/doesn't support extended battery. You should read the change log for the kernels to see if extended battery support has been added. So before you change your builds, take a look at the changelogs for the kernels to make sure your extended battery is supported

HD2 2300mAh EXTENDED BATTERY

My HTC HD2 2300mAh EXTENDED BATTERY shows up as an ordinary 1200mah
I am using Mdeejay_FroYo_Revolution_v._1.7_S6.1 .
Anyone... is it a fake battery or must i do in a certain way to explain to the battery that it is a 2300mah?
Some kernes dont have extended battery support. when the battery runs out, you put it out, put it back in and restart the phone.
Im using the 8.4eb kernel and I'm still having extended battery problems
try 7.7. or I will try to find and see if Mdeejay kernel has support or not.
I think its the battery. 8.4eb supports extended battery.

I'm having issues with the extended battery as well... What did you use to show your phone was only registering 1200 as opposed to 2300? An app?

[Q] Extended life battery question - HD2

I bought an extended life battery at 2600 mah for the HD2 running darkstone's superram 1.5. This is almost twice the normal battery size yet my battery life seems to be the same. Is their a problem with the battery or should Android be somehow programmed to recognize it?
me too, im using typhoon cm7
Have you checked to see if the included kernel supports extended batteries, official or unofficial???

No that was my point, some kernels will support unofficial batteries but not official. Something from arne should work, I know he has made some 2600 supported kernels.
You can also try the newest rafpigna or tytung kernels. They also have the eb fix with them, credits go to arne.
I understand that there is no firmware to support the official extended life battery?

ROMs that support extended battery?

Guys i need you help!
A few days ago i stumbled to a cheap extended battery for HD2 and i bought it.
Unfortunately i just found out that most Android NAND ROMs dont support it....
Can you please point me to a ROM build that does support it?
Its a non-HTC 2600mA battery....
Currently im using CoreDroid 1.6 and its draining my extended battery just like a normal one.....
Thanks!
extended battery support is kernel related, not rom related.
every rom which is using the current tytung or rafpigna kernel supports extended battery, so my guess: nearly every rom out there

Well...CoreDroid 1.6 uses rafpigna 1.9OC kernel.....
Why is it draining my battery so fast?
I charged it to 100% at 16:00,now is 23:30 and its already at 65%.....

Not much.
I used like i use it normaly.
A few cals during the day, couple of texts and a few minutes of internet...
My standard battery usualy lasts 24-36hours.
I thought extended battery would give me 2-2.5x longer battery life....
I read somewhere that when battery level reacher zero extended battery users should restart the phone and it will go back to 60%....
I wonder if Android can even charge extended battery to 100%?
If the battery you bought is a non HTC battery then it may not be what it is advertised to be, ie not the ma that it is supposed to be, you hear many stories of cheap or 'fake' extended batteries
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Get "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" and that tells you what mAH your battery is and that way as its non-htc you will know if its genuine, i bought a non htc battery apparently 1600 mAH when i first got phone but had no idea back then and only until i got "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" it told me it was 1230mAH which is the original battery so i just use one as a spare now and take 2 out with me, so i can drain it as much as i want, as i know ill never be without
Ok,here's what i did.I let the phone discharge to 50% thatn i powered it off and took the battery out for 10 seconds.
After rebooting the phone battery level was 78%
Im guessing that rafpigna kernel can read extended batteries just not entirely correct.
I'll wait until phone discharges completely and will take out and reboot again.
I tried Battery monitor widget and it reports 1230ma....
When i finish testing i will report back.

all senior members of the xda forums pls help me......
my battery drains is high it withstands only 20hrs max...15hrs min.
i want know a better solution for my battery mv reading error and i personally ask whether it is battery capacity problem or hardware of phone is reading the battery mv wrongly ........
(note: if i make a full charge the battery last upto 18hrs to 20hrs after that if i remove the battery and reinsert the battery it show nearly 40%battery remains...wht about this issue.according to my views the battery capacity is enough to handle 2days in standby but the hardware that reading the battery capacity has some issue with it or the software ie kernels make a mess in htc hd2)
pls help your new learning member......pls xda i fully depend on your reply...
i personal thank all member for better solution
What battery are you using - a stock HTC battery or an after-market or high capacity battery? Are all the pins of the battery connector proper and not bent/ broken?

Well i agree to the fact that you may not be using a stock battery or something like that. But in terms of high battery drain, you say 20 hrs max and 15 hrs min.. thats incredible to be honest.. im lucky to get 15hrs MAX.. with stock battery. But in terms of your issue that was stated, the only things that come to mind are
1. A non stock or compatible battery.
2. An uncompatable kernel (which is highly unlikely)
Those are the only two things i can think of.
thanks for kind reply ........
according to your question about battery:
i use stock battery 1yrs old....
when i am using previously winmo 6.5 the same battery life only i.e. 20hrs max..
then i luckly checked with a sd build -BoxmaX.S3.5.v8.5....i finally got current widget working with it...it read 230ma in widget and in filght mode it came to 56ma.....but when i come to nand typhoon rom it show error any help ....
i read lot of theards to save battery and reduced a build standby to 3ma to 5ma how to do it in a general build wht to do ,....
if it was a nand rom we can use cwm so we can flash any mod required for nand rom but when we come to sd builds wht to do
pls help me with a mod for battery to get 3to 5ma in nand build.......help me sir
thanks in advance to all xda members.......
