[Info] Huawei discontinues the Gingerbread Beta 1.0 version for X5 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I found the following statement on Huawei Device Facebook page:
In response to your feedback regarding technical difficulties with the trial version of the X5 Gingerbread upgrade, we are discontinuing its availability. We apologize for this inconvenience. An improved trial version will be released next Thursday on the Huawei Device website

there are many problems on it!

These are old news, and already posted on other threads several times.
No point to make a new thread for that, at least before you' ve searched if the info already exists.

Earlier this morning, it was discovered that Google was upgrading the Nexus One to the impressive new Android 2.2 operating system with an over-the-air (OTA) update. However, it quickly became apparent that this wasn't being delivered as a general release for everyone in possession of a Nexus One -- the update was only being pushed out to review samples that had been sent out by Google earlier this year...

I dunno if this can be used for hero gsm, but as I found this page and download I wouldn't mind sharing this info. I haven't found this info on xda forum. Hope you can use this to port a 2.2 rom but I have no idea, I haven't any experience programming or making roms for android.
Sorry if this thread is in the wrong section.

I could see that Sammy has decided to give official upgrade to ICS for customers in Germany... Any idea about when Indians will get their official upgrade to ICS?

As you're aware, it is Samsung who are supplying the ICS update, and not the XDA forums, hence Samsung are the people who will know if/when the update will be made available to India, and not the forum users - on the rare occassions that this information _is_ supplied by Samsung, it is even more rare that the information is reliable (i.e - almost never have their promised time-frames been met initially)

I know very well that only Samsung gives upgrades and not xda forums but the purpose of starting this thread was to share information(I think that is more important than just downloading others roms from here) as I believe that here on this forum apart from people who simply can answer that only Samsung can give upgrades there are people who know a little more about latest announcements from companies so that they update fellow forum users....Hope this reply makes itself clear.....
India update may come only via Kies and not OTA. I was earlier contemplating the german ICS, but I have waited so long, whats a few days more.
Once the XDA ICS builds are stable, I will move to a custom kernel.

I beg to defer!
Firstly u mentioned of starting this thread was to share information?? wat kinda info u wanna share when your thread topic is " [Q] "
U mean a question = sharing of information? i doubt so...
i had been browsing the forum and 8 out of 10 are indians from india asking abt ETA of ICS, when will India get ICS updates blah blah blah....
Like what u had mentioned only Samsung able to give upgrades (official) therefore when they do have any update FOR your country, do not worry coz lotsa helpful seniors in here will start a thread on it...
To Mod,
kindly close this thread coz i doubt it will b fruitful by continuing with this discussion...

No one here can give ETAs - and one rule on XDA is do not ask for ETAs.

GT-N8013 will NOT get updated, sorry

I spoke to tech support last night and they did not have any information regarding this model of the Galaxy Note 10.1. Since they didn't seem very knowledgeable I sent Samsung support an email where I stated that while I do enjoy my tablet I'm rather taken aback by the lack of updates. I requested that they at least state that they're not releasing updates for this instead of having us keep hoping.
I got this reply earlier this afternoon:
=============================
Dear Steve ****,
Thank you for contacting Samsung. I understand that you are not happy with the Samsung Note as there are no updates on it.
I know how you feel as a customer. If I had been in your situation, I would feel the same.
If you are referring to the GT-N8013 Note, I am afraid to inform that, latest version available is 4.1.2. I do understand that must make you feel upset. We do not have any information on release of updates on your tablet model. I do not want to provide any false information. Hope you understand.
=============================
This obviously doesn't mean other tablets won't get updates and it's clear that the 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1 will, but it is a little refreshing to at least know not to expect anything. Disappointing, but refreshing. Hopefully this'll clarify any doubts.
Maybe I'll start working on a ROM for it. Haven't made one in a while.
Where did they say that no updates are coming? They said none are available and they don't have any information to provide on when they would be coming. Samsung has already officially announced that the tablet will be being updated to 4.4

You're wrong.
Typical Tear 1 Customer Service note
Those people would not even know a update if its code were Tattooed on there face .
These people are trained to answer questions in a way to keep the customer from Asking more. He told you EXACTLY What you ask him to Hear. Why did you not Quote the Official List and Update release comments on samsung mobile. Maybe he might have looked into it..
Anyway Just like my post to this threat This Thread is a waste and a Place for Tempers to flair..
Enjoy your TABLET No real need to chase updates. My note works perfect as it is. Thou i would enjoy the new update its not killing me not having it..
Good Luck.
Nothing to see here...
Your question: - when are we getting an update?
Their answer: We don't know anything.
This thread is so pointless! its already been confirmed so I don't understand why you posted this.

False title as the body of the OP conflicts with it. Do we really need threads like this? Do we not have better things to do?
*Thread Reported
When do you realize that the Samsung support is just a joke - nothing more or less... They have no info, they don't know anything and if something happens, they know it last... Sorry, but that I feel about them.
This thread is useless. There's official information out there sent out by Samsung's Press Dpt. Why did you even bother asking a tech guy/tech support when one says one thing and another says something else? Like:
- "Your tablet will get the Android OS update" (LOL, no mention of version nor anything else)
- "The Galaxy Note will get 4.2 Android update" (Yeah.....)
- "No updates"
- "No info"
Basically that resumes how useless this information was to our forums (it does not contribute to anything, really). So please request to delete this. Or you could've at least posted in the appropriate thread.
Android hater everybody know the Official Announcement from the coming update.

What floors me is that the OP is not a newbie here, I would have expected more from someone of that caliber.
Not to mention I as a Cowboy's Fan would expect more from a Texan.
Please use the existing thread for the upcoming update.

Has anyone installed a custom ROM on a MediaPad M3?

Has anyone installed a custom ROM on the Mediapad M3? If so, which one? I see there is one thread with steps to getting it unlocked and rooted and nothing about ROMs.
I really like this device(with Action Launcher 3), the build and performance are great, but need hope that root and ROMs can happen if/when Huawei bails on updates in the future. I am 3 days into my 30 day return period and would love to answer this question or return the device for what might be announced at MWC.
I must say that this Mediapad M3 forum is quieter than a church mouse pissing on cotton and a HUGE thanks to those who have responded to my recent posts!
Thanks for any insight.
If it requires me having to take a survey in order to even download, I'm not touching it. Has scam all over it.
And it's not just 1 link, it's 3 times the surveys.
Topic revised so the above comment made absolutely no sense now.
Thanks!

Is there hope? Sure, as much as there was before... ZTE doesn't seem to be interested in helping any development on any device but the Axon flagship.
I have now emailed the (woefully inadequate) customer services department over 40 times in a hope that they are even reading their emails properly to see if we're getting the Android Nougat Update for the Axon 7 Mini in the UK. Alll I get is the same crappy canned and preprepared rubbish. I think this is so poor, I can foresee the company will be demolished next year if they don't sort out these updates and actually listen to their customers. I'm so sick and tired of this. ZTE....no future custom from me I'm afraid....last device I ever buy from you. You have officially **** the bed with me....it's a shame cuz the device as a whole is pretty good....I just can't give my hard earned cash to a company with this poor level of customer interaction and I now doubt the validity of the warranty you get with the devices. If mine breaks down....I wouldn't risk sending it in for repair as I don't think I'd get it back.... sorry ZTE...I shall be telling people not to get your stuff in the future.....you have officially pissed me off royally....

Where can i download the official Axon 7 mini B2017G nougat?
Not sure if they are reading their emails, but someone from ZTE seems interested in our feedback. They posted this survey over on their own forum:
I asked for an unlocked bootloader on the last question. It is worth a try.
edit: long time lurker, but apparently I am not able to include links in my posts. You should be able to find the survey without much trouble. community DOT zteusa DOT com SLASH discussion SLASH 23709 SLASH axon-7-mini-nougat-feedback-survey
maybe someone else with a more established account can post a working link.
