I have Nexus S on Wind Mobile running ICS BMv6 and franco kernel. When I ran CM7 it worked perfectly and went straight into Wind Home. With ICS I tried and it didn't work.
I've tried *#*#4636#*#* and changing WCDMA only and changing SMSC so please don't suggest that. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know; thanks.
change/add these lines to your build.prop:
ro.ril.hsxpa=4
ro.ril.gprsclass=14
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=16
ro.ril.hsupa.category=8
It will directly connect to network without having to search every time you boot up.
Didn't work
Also I apparently screwed up texting when I changed to WCDMA only in *#*#4636#*#* How do I fix that!?!?
The options listed are: Turn on IMS registration required (meaning its off)
Turn off SMS over IMS (meaning its on)
Turn on LTE ram dump (meaning its off)
With Moblicity (same frequencies as Wind) I have GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
Turn on IMS registration required (its off)
Turn on SMS over IMS (its off)
turn on lte ram dump (its off)
Are you running ICS? Which rom? I never boot straight into wind home Really hating it.
Fixed texting. Still won't boot straight into wind home.
This is why i would wait for the official release with rom as in modified ICS... Btw did anyone of you guys are able to have strong connection in nexus s with other roms? i can tell by each rom.

I'm located in Toronto, Canada and recently subscribed to Mobilicity.
I recently got a T-Mobile samsung vibrant and I'm having this problem where if I lose my mobilicity connection (ie in the subway) I have to reboot the phone to get the connection back.
If I don't reboot the phone will not reconnect to mobilicity network.
Is there a network setting I need to do to get it to connect automatically whenver I get disconnected? Or maybe there's a fix for this somewhere?
The vibrant is not rooted and has stock apps right now.

I would suggest turning the radio off ( airplane mode ) and then turning it back on, this should force your phone to reconnect to mobilicity. It would be considerabbly faster and more convienent than rebooting your phone entirely... The fastest way to turn off the radio is to press and hold the power button until the power options menu pops up and hit the airplane mode selection.
Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for your reply.
I've tried this with mixed results. Sometimes I would be able to connect to mobi's network sometimes it doesn't. If it does connect, it's only for voice and not 3G.
I've also tried manually selecting the network. It takes a minute or so to search networks and then sometimes mobi's network doesn't even appear.
Rebooting it works everytime though so there's something amiss going on here.
I tried a few things:
Coming out of subway (prolonged disconnect): The vibrant gets stuck in "Searching" mode. It does not lock into Mobi's network at even after turning on/off the airplane mode (turns off all wireless). The only way I get connected back is to power off the phone.
Coming out of basement or elevator (intermitent disconnect): I tend to lose my 3G connection when this happens. Power on/off restablishes the 3g connection. I get mixed results with the airplane mode being toggled on/off.
So right now my settings are:
- WCMDA Only in both the Mobile Network settings and the testing menu (*#*#4636#*#*)
- Manual network connection to Mobilicity
Still getting disconnects anybody with other suggestions?
thanks
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? It seems to be only happening with the mobilicty SIm card. SOMEONE HELP!!
I'm having the same problem. Is it a network problem or a phone problem? I'm using T-Mobile Galaxy S Vibrant and Mobilicity. Let me know if you guys have the solution. Thanks.

Looking for input on this as well please.
I have vibrant on mobilicity as well, had this problem on stock JFD, flashed to any froyo roms and didn't have this problem again (currently using macnut R12 + EB stock kernel)
o NICE... its all in the radio... thanx so much... i'm going to install the JK6 custom rom.... hopefully that has the fix as well...
I am actually re locating to Toronto for work so that is good to know.
Out of curisosity, I actually just purcahsed my phone and I am unlocking it at this moment. Do you know if you have to have a sim card inside the phone while inlocking? Or just after to get the key? Thanks!! I see to be having problem running the script, so I was just wondering.
I have modded my phone a lot and I think one of my mods may have messed up the search for my carrier after I reboot.
#
The problem:
After I reboot my phone it tells me that I have no carrier selected in the system tray. I click on that notification in the system tray. It takes me to the Network operators screen under settings. Then after about a minute it shows all the operators in the area and I need to select mine.
Possible reason:
When I first got my nexus 4 I thought I could activate LTE. I did activate it but it didnt connect to LTE. After thinking that I didn't activate it properly I tried a series of hacks to try and get lte to work. I tried different radios that supported lte. I tried using *#*#info#*#* from the dialer and changed preferred network type to lte only. Since then I have switched it to GSM auto (prl) since that is the only one my carrier will support.
I think in one of the hacks that I did it screwed up the ability to remember the carrier that I had before the last reboot. I have tried different roms with no luck. Currently I use crDroid. I have updated to the newest version which is currently build16. Is there any thoughts on what I can do to fix this.
I don't reboot my phone often but it's annoying when I reboot to have to fiddle with the phone for over a minute just to get a signal. Even if there was some way to search for carrier quicker I would be happy.
Anyone know how I might be able to fix these issues?
Hi,
I am using a fairly stock ROM on my S5 that has been rooted and debloated. The phone was Verizon branded, but I am using it on T-Mobile. I like 4.4.4 as my system, and have safestrap installed.
In order to get full band functionality I had to enter service mode and select LTE/GSM/WCDMA instead of CDMA preferred.
I also edited the build.prop to ensure LTE preferred and GSM mode enabled after reboots.
My problem is that if I enable Power Saving on the phone and it goes to sleep after a minute the network completely drops and I cannot reconnect to T-Mobile network. Additionally the phone seems to reset itself to CDMA preferred.
I have to turn off the phone for a few minutes then boot and now my network is restored.
The easy answer is that simply never use power saving - and why bother when I get great battery life anyway.
However - it begs the question - why would power saving kill network carrier connection? Is the antenna powered down?
If so - where else do I need to modify settings to stop the phone from returning to CDMA?
Lastly - why is it so difficult to configure a new phone like the S5 to jump carriers ? the phone is global in its band support and fully capable - but carrier branding renders this useless. Shouldn't custom ROMs be more universal in their nature and exclude carrier locks- or at least enable menus for users to select the carrier they prefer to use?
When I first started using CM13 my signal went to roaming when I know I should have service. I have data roaming off and I've checked to make sure I'm not getting charged for roaming and I'm not. My phone works as it should and I can do everything I need still so I was hoping it would be fixed in one of the new updates. I am on the newest nightly build as of this morning and the R above my signal is still there, just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or know the cause?
I have the same issue on my Nexus 6
Same issue here. Nexus 6 Verizon, just switched to CM13 and I'm stuck on roaming - so far I've tried airplane mode for a minute or two, turning the data off and on, turning the phone off and on, and chatting with Verizon support in case they could do anything remotely. The one thing I haven't done though is try putting another sim card into my phone to see if I could divine any information that way.
Any help would be appreciated.
So after trying just about everything I decided to cave in and jump back to CM12. It was there that I noticed a key difference:
CM12's settings -> mobile network settings, has the following sub-options:
Data Roaming on/off
Preferred Network Type
Enhanced 4G LTE Mode on/off
System select
Access Point Names
CM13 (nightly #2) only has:
Data Roaming
Preferred Network Type
System Select
...while in all honesty I don't know what it all means except to say that it appears to be missing some features of the CM12 nightly I'm using on my Nexus 6 on Verizon. I guess I'll try back in a week or three to see if everything is working fine.
For whatever reason I had LTE pop up for like 2 seconds but went back to R and has stayed since..
On my K3 Note, I can't pick preferred network mode on ANY rom/firmware.
I've tried everything, but it always sets the default preference which is 4G>3G>2G.
What I need though is permanent 2G and I can't set it this way. (4G signal is weak on my operator and then it keeps switching between 4G and 2G over and over)
Is there any way to entirely disable or block 4G on a phone so it will never set that mode again?
Any help would be appreciated!
Any help guys? No one knows what could be the issue?
I tried using the *#*#4636#*#* code and set the "GSM Only" but it still doesn't work.
Is anyone else having the same issue?
Edit:
Also what I've noticed is that while using CyanogenMod (atm), it stays on 2G until I turn the screen off. Then it goes back to 4G.
After turning the screen back on it then goes back to 2G again.
same problem here when dialling number it said invalid MMI code and when switching to 4g the other network appear no signal.. hope someone here have solution. i try several roms but same problem issue.
Well after a lot of fiddling, it seems it works on the stock firmware, but the mobile operator as himself has quite troubling network.
But I think we are slowly coming to a conclusion..
