Like me, many of you have send support emails (via their website) to Elocity. And
like me, I'm sure none of you received responses. Well, that has change as of today.
In response to a message I sent them on 05-Jan-2011, I received the following email. I find this quite amusing and still don't expect them to write back:

Yeah, it is somewhat amusing, I was just posting about the auto replies that started coming today. I think they need to pay Dexter nicely and give him one of each tablet they plan to release. He's given their product more support than they have and doesn't even own one.

I couldn't agree more! They should be compensating Dex for all the hours he's put in to improve their a7.
I got replay from HTC
''Dear Sergei,
Unfortunately old devices will not be unlocked this open boot loader policy is only for future releases, if you open the boot loader. It will invalidate your warranty still.
I hope that this information meets with your requirements, should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.
If this response has resolved your query, and you have no further questions please close this ticket by following the link below. Upon closure of the ticket you will be invited to complete our Customer Satisfaction Survey which should take no more than 1 minute to complete.''
So no luck

I think it was because they failed to fix it twice. Then they lost it the 3rd time when they were meant to replace it for 4 weeks. Took 5 weeks for a replacement so I guess I got a wildfire S as a sorry gift.
Even better that it has only been out about a week in the UK
Who says its only Android that is fragmented? A look at all the replies by HTC CC shows it.
Well I guess that means we either find xtc clips or we move on to other, (preferably) non-htc phones.
cccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I was knowing this would happen the main reason behind this is network locked phones. If any1 gets the bootloader s-off they can easily flash radio and unlock the network and can use any sim card..

I've been using a htc phone for the past six years, my wildfire was locked without my knowledge or permission and if it is not going to be unlocked it will be the last htc I buy.
Sent from the last htc phone I'll own using XDA App
The old devices will not be unlocked I think. Only the newer devices will be such as the wildfire S etc.
I think it's too much of a pain to unlock the bootloaders on the old devices as well, and I don't blame them, it's only a waste of more time and money.
If you want an unlocked htc then replace your old one with a newer and better phone....if you are too greedy for that, then use unrevoked.
That's the way it's always going to be, no need to blame the company for that. You would all do the same when it comes to more expenses.
Peace

They did say 4-6 weeks after initial Nordic rollout, I just didn't think they'd go for the maximum 6 weeks without any release in between, this is just like someone at talk.sonymobile.com pointed out, that it'll be 1 month for everyone else.
theres already a thread stickied for ICS topics
Hi guys, hope this doesn't breach any forum advertising rules or anything. But my nephew is doing a project at school about the mobile phone industry and why consumers sign up to certain networks. He's looking at marketing in particular and has done about two questionnaires and research etc...
Anyway, he asked me if i could do one of his questionnaires, so i did and i thought i'd put it on here so he could get more responses. Now it was originally on paper so i've just copied it into this website. There might be a few errors as i haven't fixed it all.
I'd be very grateful if you guys could fill one out for him, shouldn't take longer than a couple of minutes.
Just to let you know. To fill this out, you have the be a Three UK customer who has left/switched from a different network in the past.

Thanks guys.
P.s please no spam answers or any bias based on the traffic sense thing. The survey Is meant for new customers who have just taken out a contract recently.
I think there is a problem with the link, it brings me to a page displaying; "Incorrect survey link code!"
Link updated,
Thanks mate.

Devices under warranty are generally subject to protections and issues of negligence can be applied. I plan on sending this to my state attorney general. A company that is willing to neglect security like this needs to be brought up to speed and fast in todays insecure world.

plus no root
I know this is a necro, but the forums here are pretty dead, probably due to ZTE and this particular model not being too popular or easy to root. I did notice they fixed WiFi KRACK vulnerability very fast. They must have really felt that one was a threat to their brand.

When was this update? Latest is October security patch with b20 version here. That doesn't include krack fix I don't think as that was in November's security update.
My patch level is currently 2/5/2018. You might want to force a manual check.
