Yes, you can trust Mobilecityonline.com. I've purchased a few things from them and they're very reliable.
Thanks for the answer, unfortunately mobile city sends online to USA and Canada, Cellhut.com also has a unlocked version for pre-order, for $549, and they send to Brazil, are they reliable?
i would never trust any shipment to venezuela directly, so i use a courier in miami that actually sends the stuff down here. i am suru brazil must have lots of couriers as well
looks like walmart will be a good place to get it. looking forward to it.
BTW, some of the online stores will not sell the phone to you if you are not an AT&T customer. The off-contract price is only for AT&T customers who do not want to sign a new contract.
If you do not happen to be an AT&T customer, you will need to pay a full price ($599 @ Amazon or BB, $575 at the AT&T store). This is what I was told at one BB and two AT&T stores. If you happen to be lucky, some clueless sales person may sell you one at no-contract price even if you are not an AT&T customer.
from what i have searched all the links i have posted allow you to buy without being an att customer.

The one that I tried (letstalk.com) does not allow you to do that. I even tried their CS department and was told I needed to have an AT&T account to get the off-contract pricing. Wal-mart was the same.
Additionally, both Cells4u and Amazon are now showing a back-ordered status. Mobilecityonline and cellhut do not have any stock as yet nor do they know when they will be getting any either. I've talked to Expansys and they have no idea when they will have them in stock either.
before posting the link i just chose existing att customer to get the off contract price and continued, it asked for my credit card and address and i stopped there. i guess i will have to wait for mobilecityonline
Actually, after you enter your CC details, it then asks you for your social security number and current ATT phone number
ouch... and on top of that they will be going the wirefly route and stop selling at&t phones starting march 8.
this sucks
Cellhut - no. Two more sources
I would not trust cellhut. Their ratings (if you google for that) are abysmal.
I preordered from negrielectronics [dot] com/motorola-atrix-4g-black-unlocked.html - they claim availability end of this month, and deliver internationally. They seem to have good reseller ratings. It is a bit pricey at $686.50, though. The upside is it should be unlocked. The downside was that the "free delivery" does not seem to apply, according to my Google Checkout. Though they do inform you that preorder prices may not be final, and the final total may be lower than what they initially pre-charged, so I guess it's wait and see for me.
One more option would be Expansys - for Singapore: www [dot] expansys [dot] com [dot] sg/motorola-atrix-207852/ (SG $819.99, about US$640), they have other country websites too (just choose country on the top, you have to search for the phone again in this case). It is listed now with a price, but not available for preorder (at least for Singapore). Projected availability is 25 July, quite far away.
I prefer to buy it unlocked in the first place, if I can.
There are a couple of listings on ebay as well, but don't expect anything below US$ 700. And expect a couple of not-so-trustworthy people there as well.
Sorry - new user, not able to post links yet.
i knew about those two sites (looked them through froogle) but didn't post them because they were so expensive. too bad amazon is so expensive and backordered too. it's basically the only way i can buy (long story, our country caps our online purchases in usd at 400$ per year so i need two credit cards and amazon is the only place that allows me to buy a gift certificate and apply to my account)
letstalk.com has a 5% off coupon (up to $25 savings): LTCART5 (expires on feb 28)
I ordered mine on letstalk.com with the coupon, here is the invoice details:
Product Description Price Discount Qty Subtotal
Motorola Atrix 4G (AT&T) $499.99 1 $499.99
Coupon: 5% off the shopping cart up to $25 (-$25.00) (-$25.00)
Shipping: Standard $0.00 $0.00
Tax: CA $39.19
Total to be charged: $514.18
I think this is the cheapest online price now ($475.99)...
They charge sales tax for CA and TX customers...not sure about other states...
I asked wirefly if they are going to sell the atrix...but they said no (most likely because they will drop AT&T sales in March...)
hope this helps
nice, too bad i have to be an actual att customer to buy through them.

[Q] Google charging sales tax in Texas

Ordered Nexus 4 from Google Play Store. They charged me sales tax but I live in Texas. The order shows it as being purchased from California and delivered to Texas. Called Google but their customer service could not give me answer. Has anyone else from Texas been charged sales tax? Did you ask for a refund?
Isn't the state sales tax in TX 6.25%, I assume that was what you were charged and should have been charged.
Despite most peoples thinking, online orders are subject to local sales tax, most of the time the retailer wont collect tax for online orders since the state wont bother to try and collect it (not worth their time and effort to collect on small dollar amounts with no easy means of tracing them). Google will collect the sales tax regardless, the only way they wont is if you don't have a state sales tax (NH, DE, etc). A lot of times companies will also only collect the tax from out of state purchasers if they have a company presence in the state the item is being shipped to (it's easier for the state to collect if from them if they have an company office in said state).
Either way, buying goods out of state does not exempt you from paying you local state sales tax, if you have not had to in the past on online orders, consider yourself lucky, it wont always be that way, as online shopping becomes more popular with larger dollar amounts the states are taking notice and making the retailers collect the tax from the customers.

If you Nexus 4 was to be shipped 'offshore' you could file for an exemption certificate with your local state, provide said certificate to Google and you wont be charged sales tax. If you are a resident of a state you are obligated to pay and abide by taxes and laws for said state, there are loop holes that you and businesses (Google) are free to exploit if you so wish.
I paid sales tax 8.25% and I'm from Texas. With that said you may not always get charged sales tax when you buy online. Because online merchants are only required to charge sales tax if they have a branch of business in your state. I found this out by talking to Amazon. If I buy from amazon and the item is sold by Amazon they charge me sales tax because they have a storage facility in Texas(but they are considering moving their storage facility). However, when I buy from another seller even if it is fullfilled by Amazon then I mostly only pay tax if the company selling the item has business connections in Texas.
I was charge sales tax plus shipping bringing my order up to 392.
sent from my jingly bells
6% sales tax is nothing compare to 13.5% sales tax in Quebec
Try 20% sales tax, AKA VAT in the UK. Luckily all prices in the UK include the tax and it isn't added on at checkout, unless you're buying from a business wholesaler etc.

Not entirely accurate re: Amazon in Texas. Amazon never used to charge, but they came to an agreement with the state government in May 2012 to begin taxation here, with the state receiving an agreement from Amazon to open a distribution hub employing a couple thousand people here in the state. Compared to a lot of states (where Amazon will begin charging sales tax if they don't already and WON'T be enjoying job creation), our elected officials actually did pretty well.
Cheers!
Correct, sales tax is meant to be charged regardless of if there is a business presence or not. It is just a lot harder for the states to enforce collection of it if the company has no ties to the state.
A lot of states are starting to realize the lost revenue and will be making the merchant collect tax regardless of business presence or not.
I expect the large merchants (I.e. amazon) to be the first to be hit by this

$30 coupon code for Nexus 7 (2013) right now!

I didn't see this posted so I figured I would share. I wasn't even planning to upgrade but after seeing the free shipping and $30 off coupon code through Staples, I really couldn't resist. Especially since I have a buyer lined up to purchase my 2012 Nexus 7 for $140 this weekend. :highfive:
http://www.droid-life.com/2013/07/2...exus-7-through-staples-with-this-coupon-code/
Coupon code: 41178
Not sure how long they'll have this offer up but it worked for me.
just walked into a staples near by and used the online staples coupon, printed out.
http://www.staples.com/coupons
bought the 16 gig for $199.
tell the employee to use the online code: 41178
you need to print out the coupon and bring it in store. doing unboxing now.
expires 7/28, go get it!
If you anyone of you were impatient like I was and bought it at Best Buy, you can have them price match it. I had to call in a couple times, first rep lied to me and told me they don't do pricematch of item after purchase only during. Here's their policy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Payment...ee/pcmcat297300050000.c?id=pcmcat297300050000
Just arrived at my Staples and they only have the 16gb version. Oh well.

I bought mine at Best Buy this morning. I called them to ask if they would match the Staples price, they said only if it's an in store price, I told them it was a coupon discount and they said definitely not. I'm not sure how the other guy above got away with that, it's literally in their pricematch guarantee that they will not match coupon prices. Anyway, Best Buy will allow you to return your item for free, even if it's opened and you can return it to any Best Buy store if you ordered it online. What I'm going to do is buy the Staples one and not open it and return it to Best Buy. Hopefully they won't match the serial number on the box. If they do, then I'll return the opened one, no big deal.
Edit: Oh well, Staples site says they're out of stock online, both models.
Edit 2: Called the store near me, they don't even carry the new model yet, they only have the old one. Other Staples in the area all seem to have the 16GB in stock, no 32GB, so I called them. They said they had only one in stock that was "on hold for a customer, but If I wanted to buy a protection plan for it, they would hold it for me instead"... Sounds real shady. Anyway, in case anyone's wondering, the online code (which is 41178) will work until this Sunday (7/28), but apparently the code 35852 will work in store if you ask the cashier to try it for you.
16gb at the local Staples, with coupon, $199 out the door. :good:
Thank you so much for posting this I rode as quick as I could to staples to pick mine up!
And I was going to wait for my 1 day shipping, Ain't nobody got time for that!!

You got lucky, their policy clearly states they do not price match post purchases.
The Guarantee is limited to one price match per identical item, per guest and does not apply to: Contract mobile phone devices and plans, the online prices of retailers not listed, the online prices of third party vendors (Marketplace vendors) on designated major online retailers websites, post purchase price match requests to competitor's prices, Best Buy for Business™, offers that include financing, gift card offers, bundling of items, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, coupon offers, competitors' service prices, items that are advertised as limited-quantity, out of stock, open-box, clearance, refurbished/used items, our and our competitor's Deal of the Day, daily deals, special hour sale event items and credit card offers, BestBuy.com Clearance & More and Marketplace items, and items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Hrmm are they're contradicting themselves? Because if you scroll down to the FAQs
How do I request a price match from BestBuy.com?
When making a purchase, or during the return and exchange period after your purchase from BestBuy.com, price match requests from BestBuy.com are handled via phone. Please call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) for a BestBuy.com price match request. Please tell us about the lower price that is still in effect that you want Best Buy to price match. Best Buy will then review and verify the price match request.
Edit: I guess that only applies to pricematching themselves.

You have 15 days to get the price matched post purchase, "We will also match prices post purchase if we lower our price within 15 days of your purchase." But you still did get lucky because it says "The Guarantee is limited to one price match per identical item, per guest and does not apply to: ... coupon offers, ..."
Edit: Yeah, looked at that wording, it does say "if we lower our price within 15 days of your purchase."
Edit 2: Apparently the code doesn't work in store. Just called a Staples store near me and I asked if they had any in stock, before I even said anything about the coupon, the guy said "If you have the coupon for $30 off, it doesn't work for the new tablet, only the old ones" and that he just tried it numerous times for a customer. Oh well, hopefully they'll get more in stock online, or maybe they didn't realize the coupon was working for the new Nexus 7 and it wasn't supposed to be and they finally fixed it.
Damn sold out

1. They only price match against other stores at the time of purchase. Post purchase price matches apply only to a lower BB price.
2. They do not price match coupons.

huh, I think best bet would be to go to a local store and hold the coupon over there head. Chances are the Manager would match it to get your business. Online there is prolly less leeway
ordered from amazon, saw this deal, went to staples, they didint accept coupon, canceled amazon, bought at staples anyway...
went to a different staples about 15 min ago with my recipt and showed the coupon..... gave my 32$ back
im happy
They stopped the 30 bucks coupon for new nexus. Old nexus still works! They also are canceling online orders for people who used the 30 coupon.

*** Attention - Walmart price match to best buy. VZW NOTE 4 ***

Saw in Walmart weekly ad page 32 that note 4 was 268, instead of 299. Weekly special from Nov 2 to 8.
I printed out the page, went to best buy and performed successful price match.
I preordered black note 4 verizon via best buy, traded in phone for 200 bucks credit, picked it up on 10/23 when it was released. Today 11/5 is last day of 14 day return policy.
Went to customer service, they were baffled and tried to come up with many reasons why it's against policy. Showed me a policy guide which said it can not price match online retailers for phones. I refuted as walmart is brick and mortar store and they sent me to best buy Mobile department (i thibk they were lazy). They called my local Walmart and confirmed they had it in stock and it was 268. Price drop guarantee worked and cha ching! 35 bucks extra to spend on accessories
I actually got a best buy email today for earning cash for a rewards member, 5 bucks. But they wouldn't let me apply it for previous orders, boo, couldn't get too greedy.
Regardless, happy man I am!
Enjoy and good luck! Every penny counts, it did take 15 mins extra of my time.
Oops, didn't see that there was another post about this, enjoy!
We generally don't price match mobile phones unless it is a price match of the carrier, since our prices are set in conjunction with each carrier. If we price match another store, we don't get refunded accordingly by the carrier and lose the difference between what our price is and whatever the price is that was matched.
WalMart and other stores usually have different contracts and stuff that aren't the same as what ours are and that's probably why there was so much confusion.
You got lucky in that they gave you the discount though! We almost never ever ever price match over here on mobile phones. :good:
