Hello,
I have found this Mac OS X theme for Windows Mobile called Tiger 2.0, here is the link:
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7787
The problem is that I haven't been able to make it work yet on my TyTN, I find it very confusing. Can anyone please help me out on how to get this working clean, step-by-step?
I am new to skins, and it's my first time running Wisbar Advance 2.
Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it.
OK, first of all the full theme requires Wisbar Advance Desktop too. Normally the theme will have a folder marked WA2 (Wisbar Advance) and one marked WAD (Advance Desktop).
Wisbar Advance is basically a task manager that puts pretty bars at the top and bottom of the screen. To get it to work you just need to drop the theme folder into the lakeridge/themes folder on your device.
Advance Desktop is a whole different ball game. As far as I can tell you only get given the basic elements of the desktop and need to set it all up yourself.
I looked into the Wisbar thingy. Looks cool, but is hard to install.
I will look into more, maybe when I figure it out, I post some usefull stuff here.
Maybe have a look at their forum...
Dear friends, I just installed RRE Series 6 WM 6.5 Build 21501 BETA 2 ROM for my Fuze and I think it is an awesome RO, but for the Titanium, I really need to understand some more about it. I searched a lot and found titanizer and CHome Editor v1.5 beta by showaco, and can't seem to understand about the tabs or the panels how does they work. can I, for example, put a panel for internet calling, for wifi management, or these panels are only for using as is, and can be only hidden, because even when trying to create a new panel I can't use it for example as a launcher, please guide me in the right direction

Sure you can use a panel as launcher, check in the CHome Editor thread or in the WM 6.5 themes thread. You create a panel and save it, then you create a new page and there you set the program to launch, then you create another page and you set another program to launch and so on, up to 20 pages are possible. In the above indicated threads you find a lot of info and tips to do that.

Hi,
I'm currently using ThemeGenCE Developed by Benoit Thonnart. Here Thanks Benoit for a great app.
I am having trouble understanding all the screen resolutions.
When I design a theme it would great to make & Export to all Windows models. Is this a crazy idea?
Things I need to understand:-
I cannot see a pattern with the DPI over the phones 96/128/131? I guess it is important otherwise the Background image will be wrong.
Screen types Standard, VGA, QVGA, WQGA
Exporting - when to use +Inf +Xml +Inf +Xml
A simple Cab Package program - tried and tested for themes.
Is there a ThemeGenCE workflow somewhere online? If not, can we start something here? Maybe 10 step guide for each model!
Thanks
A bit of 'customer feedback' etc:
I was going to ask a question, because I have a specific request, but then thought rather than limit the thread why not make it a general feature request for custom ROMs, for people to come up with new ideas etc for our esteemed cooks to implement.
Anyway, this is my request:
Can we have a 'delete' icon on the SMS and Email tabs in Sense, so we can delete junk emails as they arrive without having to open them first?
Thanks
Paul.
some requests from the Chefs
1 - transparency all over, everywhere.
2 - no curtains anywhere
3 - small sized colour icon pack for taskbar, notifications, startbutton
4 - built in Slide-2-Unlock (ask the devs)
5 - all stock photo's , stock stocks, stock footprints delete
6 - clock packs in cabs with installation. Clock with seconds
7 - actionscreen on endcall button and left softkey
8 - preinstall my own application Reperion (find your phone back after theft)
9 - Organized startmenu !!!! All these freaking icons need to much scrolling!
10- built in ACR HD2 (automatic call recording)
11 built in musicID latest version
etc etc.. let the cooking begin
stable, stable , very stable ~
Hope this gonna be true
Sense 2.1!
I wish I could have the folowing.
- Without Copilot8 trial
- WM messaging (not HTC messaging) by default
Well. that's all..
Something that I'd definitely want is a simple and useful task manager that would make switching between say the music player and browser much less of a chore(I have the taskmanager on my startscreen as a quick launch icon). Just mapping the current task manager to one of the hard buttons would suffice.
* Super-fast.
* Loads of free ROM space - dump all unneeded crap like wallpapers and ringtones as separate cabs
* WM 6.5.x (a must!)
* Stock Manila with options to customise
* Dump Jblend for Jbed. Jbed is sooo much faster
* Microsoft Bluetooth Stack... if possible (probably not).
1- delete button on the email tab
2- graphical task switcher (similar to Windows 7) with touch scrolling through tasks
3- larger buttons (see NRJ Blackstone ROMs)
4- enable windows Mobile contacts in HTC "People" so you don't have to use the Windows Contacts application to create Windows Live contacts.
5- Ported Google Maps Navigation application from Android
6- enable importing of facebook phone numbers when linking contact to facebook, currently only birthday and picture are being imported.
Don't know if this is possible but
1. Option to save all e-mail (not just attachments) from all accounts to microSD
2. Import facebook birthday from contacts to calendar
3. Eliminate bugs with alarm app, sometimes I have to press 2-3 times to get into app
- Without Copilot8 trial
- WM messaging (not HTC messaging) by default
The Main to reqeusts, get rid of the buggy HTC messaging and CoPilot trial to save space!
- as close to stock as possible.
- option to have chinese traditional support (dislay/keyboard)
Dont take this the wrong way but..
Many chefs here choose to make their ROMs to fit the "market", to please as many as possible. So changes as, transparency there, transparency here, app this, app that. Its just to specific to each induvidual that want a cooked ROM.
Dont get me wrong, its good that you guys tell the/us chefs what you want. But this could just be done in the chefs ROM threads instead.
Just read the posts. Many of you takes up the same things. If you want a ROM that fist all youre needs, cook it youre self (Or talk to a nice chef to do if for you?).
Just my 2 cents..

I couldn't agree more. I don't "cook" myself, but I'm an avid taster
I would personally LOVE to see a ROM with nothing but the basics on there, along with a list of CABs, in order to install anything not included. That way, we can have a real lite version of the OS & GUI, and customize the software ourselves. I'm just after more space, and less of what I don't actually want!

Excactly.. There are UC comp ROMs and SHASHIMI to tweak the phone after HR, so just cooking some stuff in it is worse imo. I just dont se the point.

The only advantage I see is fast setup after hard reset if all the settings and tweaks are included in a ROM.
But many requests we have here are things for which there are no cabs, so maybe it is interesting not only to the cooks but also to the app developers (BS Tweak, Max Manilla, Touch X Icons etc...).

Agreed.
Would love to see an Ultra Lite ROM with everything that can be removed gone. In addition to this... cab files to put the removed stuff back if you wanted to.
What really annoys me with ROMs is when apps like google maps and Opera are cooked in.... These apps are always being updated so removing them from ROMs just makes sense!
Request
- Better touch screen accuracy.
- Better touch keyboard accuracy (like in iPhone)
- Close/Minimize buttons like in Windows 95/98/NT/XP/Vista/7
- Some kind of Windows 7 pined buttons at the bottom of screen, so you can always Maximize soft.
without copilot trial
auto power on/off on base of proximity sensor (or combination)
auto in call speaker on/off on base of proximity sensor (or other)
a lot more storage space, unbelievable now... 512mb rom standard, after initial setup there is only 178.11MB free to use???? So so soooooo wrong.... lol
working taskmanager @ top right corner, one which doesn't slow the device down!!!! showcase is no option, unresponsive and too big. One tap should be enough to display the running tasks..... (with the option to close them or switch to them)
fix the htc weather graphics of frost/snow (see attached pic for clarification ) --> only noticeable when you use hdwall for full screen wallpapers.
find a way to limit the number of sms to display when using threaded sms. It takes ages for the damn program to load the conversation. If for example it only loads like 20-30 sms, then there will be no problem i think. May b a button to show history (all?) --> may b better a suggestion to HTC, apparently they haven't tested with a large number of text messages. If they did...... SHAME ON YOU!
I have just had my HD2 a couple days, but have discovered (with help from posters here, a couple freeware apps from XDA, that I consider to be indispensable add-ons to the Sense UI that comes with the phone.
1. Co0kie's Home Tab Really an indispensable add-on to the Sense UI, exponentially adding to its customizability and functionality. IMO, HTC should buy the app from "Co0kie and integrate it into Sense, as it improves the UI 1000%. Here is the URL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483
2. An add-on to #1--Co0kie's Home Tab Editor. (Also known as CHT Editor.) Of course this app requires #1, and #1 should be installed first. If you install #1, you really should install #2 as well. It is a separate app, with a separate discussion thread though. IMO it should be integrated into #1, rather than two separate apps. The thread for CHT Editor is at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633590
To me those two are must-haves, even after only having the phone a couple days, and never having used Sense UI before, or anything like it. As both those threads are in other forums, I have a suggestion--that a sticky thread be put in this forum, just to alert new users of this phone to those two apps.
----------------
While I am at it, I will mention one or two more.
As you may have discovered, the Start Menu on the HD2 (Sense UI) is WEIRD, disorganized, etc. Perhaps some people like it, but I sure don't. I would prefer the original WinMo Start Menu, but the only way to get back to that is to completely disable Sense UI, which is nice with the Cookie apps above.
Well--for one thing with CHT, the amount of QuickLinks one can have is up to I think about 75, compared with 9 in the original setup of HD2. With so many QuickLinks you nat not need to use a start menu much. However, if you would still like to use a menu as well, and a much better one than the one that comes by default on the phone, there is here on XDA an HD2 optimized version of QuickMenu. Before I knew about that, I tried the regular QuickMenu, a freeware WinMo menu program, available at many places. Nice app, but not finger-friendly, pretty much requires a stylus. Then I found and installed the HD2 version here on XDA--very finger friendly, with more features added as well, including a nice built-in task manager. A great menu add-on. Highly recommended. You can find QuickMenu HD2 edition at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621109
--------------------
The following recommendation is not HD2 specific, but for all WinMo devices. (Also differing from the rest of this thread, as the following is a commercial program, not freeware.) But while I am recommending apps, I'll mention the following as well.
For those who find the built-in File Manager ("File Explorer") insufficient, I'll tell you what I use. Others may have other favorite file managers (some like Total Commander), but I really like Resco Explorer, and think it is well worth the money, if you need a better file manager. The current version is very finger-friendly, and customizable. It also includes a registry editor, and other add-ons. They have a 7 day full-featured trial available. (IMO, not long enough. Trials should last at least 30 days. Still, full-featured trials are better than crippled ones, and you might get some idea from the 7 day trial.)
would cleanRam be a good hd2 app?
