Its the best phone i've ever had and it really fits me.
I love everypart of it. From the big screen to the pen.
Just wanted post it, since it seems this forum is filled with complaints or whining posts. Galaxa note is realy just the perfect phone for me so far.

I think Samsung could have done a better job with the ROM. The SGS II Roms are great and very stable.
Memory Management, Optimization are a few things Samsung needs to improve with the Note. Once thats there, I dont see why this device cant rock even more just out of the box.
I am very curious if ICS will bring our Notes really to a higher level
I love the note too!
The big screen is very handy for surfing and remote PC.
The speed?..... Blazing fast, boot also! (I came from a Galaxy S I9000).

For the record: i love my Note! It's not fair comparing it to gs2 seeing as those ROMs have had a year of polishing and optimizing. Get back to me when note ROMs are as mature and we'll talk.

and with ics it will be another story
Just trying the alpha ics has been amazing and very difficult to go back to gingerbread. When ics does finally get leaked for us it will open up the true capabilities I think. It just brings a level of performance that is near impossible to reach with any amount of tweaking on gingerbread.
that's right... i mean that ics will be better for the battery duration .... with a good ram managment the battery life can be longer
Yeah.. I love my Gnote too.. Captains perogative..

I love it too!! I just have two things to say. First, people who pay 700+ for a phone with problrms have every right to complain about it and instead of being mean to them I feel that we could read the parts we like and ignore the rest. After all, hope boring life would be if everyone had the same opinion.... good god, we would all end up liking some like whoopi goldberg or george bush (dumbya)...
Second (not directed to u). I have ICS on my son's samsung Nexus and the settings actually look like a big step backwards instead of a leap forward. Im actually thinking of leaving 2.3.6 once ICS ever makes it to the Note.
My two cents.
2 things I wished the Note had...
1. More ram...1.5gb would rock.
2. 32gb internal storage..
but it still rocks.
More RAM would be nice, and better battery management. I have rooted and installed a firewall and autorun (to prevent pesky apps popping up whenever they feel like eating some of my battery ), and it now lasts the day. I should not have to root and configure just for a full day's battery IMO, but that is Android all over.
Other than that, it is pretty much the very best phone I have ever used and beats all my previous desires (and creates new ones, of course). Prior to that it was my i-mate Jas Jar with 640x480 screen and full qwerty keyboard. Windows was pants, however, and "inactive sync" finally made me give it up.
My note with a custom noreve case (ordered) and my slim Think Outside full size folding BT keyboard (and mouse if I ever find it again) makes the very best of any smartphone that exists today, IMO!
I came from imate jas jar to HTC hd2 and now the Note. I'm absolutely loving it
I'm just wondering how long I can go before the bug gets to me and I start flashing new roms. I used to flash my HD2 almost every week.

You're right. Though to be fair, mostly people have been arguing with the people who start complaining that this is a bad phone or pretending that the display sucks (in general, not of a particular defective piece).
Like everyone here I love my note a lot too and I'm not complaining mine, m previous phone was a nokia N97mini and it was a disaster, apart from the really sexy yet sofisticated look the entire phone was a mess. Paint coming off every where, tons of random crashes lack of updates and don't get me started about the OS. Just like that the list goes on and on and I don't wanna waste anyone's time but basically I didn't know what I was missing in mobile technology till I got my iPod that's when I realize 'this phone really sucks'. So coming from a very rudimentary phone I can't complain much but I will not deny there is room for improvement like the brightness, I wish I could decrease further than using a different app to decrease it which I realised also cause lack in color quality. I'm really looking forward to ICS hoping it will answer all my prayers

Got my note a few days ago and loving it, too. I was a bit disappointed with the stock software, but after flashing Cassie's XtraLiteRom v8 and JKays mod it performs like it should and is nice to use.
Android could certainly take a few hints from MeeGo on how to build a user-friendly UI, though.
I loooove mine too! but like someone else said it really needs ics, since i come from a gnex(still have it) it's hard to swallow. But the big screen and lte data speed i easily forget about gingerbread!

Hi I've been looking into getting a nexus 4 for a while I just want to know what are the ups and downs of it, I've looked through a bit of the thread and haven't really seen anything bad, just wanting to know how the device is and such not too worried about any custom software glitches or anything. Well, I don't think you can get that performance for that money in any other phone atm.
The sound is a little low, although I've seen fixes for that if it bothers you. The camera is average for a modern smartphone. As is the battery life.
Big plus: Always having the latest updates. Also, the Support should last quite a while.
What else...I like the NFC technology and playing around with tags. Easier than I thought, too.
Looking into buying a QI charger atm. Being able to use those is another nice feature.
Then there is the look of the back Of course that's only good for something when you don't hide it in a bumper or case.
You can't get anything better if you're on a tight budget imho. :good:

Thank you for the insight, sadly as much as i would love to be an owner of one of these great devices i have no budget (as in no income) but heres hoping i get a job soon so get one, before the nexus 5 comes out and no longer can get a nexus 4
I lovetheNexus 4. True other phones have better hardware. But you get it for the same price you pay for one of the other phones on a 2 year contract. I enjoy the freedom.

I still have my non rooted note 2. I had a nightmare reinstalling my back ups the ones on my memory card could be found .Thank for my phone explorer that saved the day for some .
Also Kies didn't work with this at all it days I need a new version which I could find.a whole day wasted so far .(this is one area where iPhone is leaps above.)
Seems to take longer to turn on.
Overall I like it and the back is good non slippery.
Haven't had time to check it all or the pen apps but I few things I notice .
No Polaris office but there's a Polaris viewer only but I can't find it in the apps.no radio.and the my files manager seems complex.
I have a gps app called Osmand from my old note and the maps where on the sd card but it doesn't seem to find it.
In fact only my music and photos where recognized none of the data or backups where recognized.
I'm using nova launcher but the touch wiz is real fast now .
Screen is great too early to tell about battery .
Haven't tested the camera yet .
But one bug thing for me exchange active sync is white and Grey now much better to see.
The one thing that has left a bad taste is the back ups I used my back up pro to my memory card plus even nova back up couldn't be found but Kies has to be rewriten.
Please ask any questions and I'll try to help as I still have my old note.
Also my bookmarks didn't come over using the standard samsung browser en en though it's synced.

Personally.... I will wait for the JB 4.3 update, and see how that changes the Note 2. If it brings it on a par with the Note 3 (except for the hardware differences), then I'll stay with what I have. There really isn't enough innovation to warrant changing from Note 2. Mebbe if I only had a Note.....would be worth the upgrade...but right now...NO. Lets see what JB 4.3 does.

I purchased a note 3 on the 25th (UK release day) paid £620 for it sim free. I personally regret the 'upgrade'
Yeah, it's got a nice display, I like the charging speed, but.. where's pop up browser gone? I love that on my note 2, Samsung have banished it away on the n3.
My main gripe.. Is audio. And the speaker. What are Samsung thinking by placing a small thin speaker on the bottom of the device?
The sound is thin /toppy.. My note 2 is much better.
If you upgrade expecting better audio, you'll be disappointed.
The note 3 has loudness, but it's so thin it's unbearable fully up.
I'm actually selling my note 3 because of it, I feel let down, and realise how good my note 2 actually is now.
Rant over.
Hopefully my impressions will change after time.but I too feel its not worth the upgrade from note 2 unless you are a pen fanatic

Your backups are no longer working because from Android 4.1.2 to the current version on the Note 3 the file system changed. In other words, your backups are still there but in different directories and the phone just cannot find them. You should move them with a file manager...

Not always. Check out the HTC One. It has AWESOME audio. I even considered the One just for that, and the build quality. Yet here i am with the Note 2 still ^.^ I love my Note 2. Plastic and creaky. It's my baby. Haha.
Thanks for letting us know about the bad speakers. This is a real deal breaker for me
What i want from note3- it is battery cover. I hate that slippery glossy back cover. If i saw one for my note2, I'll definitely grab one!
And of course 4.3 update. Thats all, that interests me. So for now I don't see a good reason to upgrade my device.
And if loud speaker is even worse than note2, hell no for that. My previous decices had dual loud speakers, so sound quality was decent, but I was seriously disappointed in note2 sound quality. Crackling sound drives me crazy! I can't imagine even worse quality then note2...
I'm simply gonna wait till the the note 4 so I'll actually be able to tell the difference.

You can get a faux leather back from ebay . I found this fit the bill perfectly. I'm not convinced about upgrading. Still very happy with note 2.
A metal rim might have swayed me. But having said that it was easy to replace the one I chipped and scratched. Its as good as new.
Again ebay to the rescue.

The product looks trash on their eBay pictures. But looks alright on the picture you posted above.
How is the grip? Slippery or does it give the kind of nice grip you'd expect from "leather"?
Why does touchwiz slows down overtime? I remember the day when i purchase this baby its like no one can beat the smoothness of touchwiz

The best design, specs and performance for a midrange phone
The only problem the others are complaining about is the screen color and camera but still its pretty decent
For me its Not something i could complain about because this phone is Just amazing... The battery, the performance, gaming... This can compete to other quadcore smartphones

Basically it's a money well spent, this is a midrange phone performing at high end capacity. Unless you are very much concerned about os updates, as you may see in the other thread in this section.

Im not satisfied.
Front and backcamera are horrible.
The wifi range is damn low
The phone is gettin hot pretty fast
Multi-tasking doesnt work sometimes (sometimes I get fc, when I listen to music while browsin for an example)
Love mine. No problems, just a few minor bugs (wifi is weak, led bar no worky in stamina mode)
Mme so u like this phone but not 100%...i really don't care about camera... Mmm I have to think a bit before buy it
Thanks a lot people!
Wait for the update before you buy the phone.. the poor wifi and camera need a serious fix, if this doesn't happen I don't advice anyone to buy the phone.
I bought mine only a few days ago and I'm blown away by the bang for your money. It's a great mid range phone that feels high quality. Even on 4.1.2, the device feels really smooth and fluid to use. Plays games really well, Robocop, Real racing, injustice all play great.
Battery life is really good with stamina mode active. The sony UI is not floaty and quite a few of the bundles apps can be uninstalled without even rooting. Rooting is easy as pie, takes a few mins with 1 app.

the z1 mini will blow this out of the water, but don't forget that the z1 mini is a flagship almost and this is a midrange, if you can afford it go for the z1 mini other wise the sp is more than great. i got mine for free on a 2yr contract with a 100$ gift card. this phone competes with quad core flagships and in some ways out performs them like frame rate and battery. the only thing i don't like is the long wait till 4.3 and 4.4 other wise the camera is ok you just have to play with the settings. the light bar is EPIC people always stop and ask me what phone im using, its really cool. it never gets hot for me and never lags the biggest complaint is that it docent come with too many case option and accessories other wise this phone is superb id recommend it, feel free to pm if you have any questions
SIMPLY THE BEST MID RANGE PHONE RIGHT NOW. PERIOD.

It's a good phone. But the software need to be improved.
The memory management is very, very bad... If you are listen the music and open the Internet Browser probably the software will kill the music app.
The appdraw is frequently "redrawing".
You wont have a lot of Custom ROM (however there are good Custom ROM like eXistenZ).
Anyway it is a good phone.
If I were to buy a new phone today in the same range price I would of Moto G.
my sp c5303 doesn't have any of the wi-fi issues i keep reading here, maybe it's fixed on newer devices? i got mine in last november
I like it very much but the main problem which I face is the touch problem.
If that is solved then its great

Dear all,
Just to open a positive thread on XZ5 experience and stopping its baching !
First feedback after 1 day usage (only yeah but still)
- Everything runs smoothly
- Network Reception is far better than my previous phone (XZ original one)
- Quality of photos are really dependant on the guy holding the phome and knowing how to use the capacity --> Perfect for my usage
- Battery is fantastic
- Charging time is really quick with the provided wall charger
My summary : I am very satisfied with my choice
That's good to hear.

Good to hear your experience! I'm starting to feel that those people complaining are either 1) very unlucky and had a faulty unit, 2) fan boys coming from another manufacturer or 3) nitpickers who want to see the fault in every device.
It's my first Sony smartphone and i'm really happy with mine, it's true that whatever you buy there are people unhappy, some people just like to moan some are genuinely unlucky with dodgy units, mine is good really good, only grumble is the 2 day battery life thing that's a bit optimistic imo
