Actually i like the phone but it's become quickly hot. -.

The best design, specs and performance for a midrange phone
The only problem the others are complaining about is the screen color and camera but still its pretty decent
For me its Not something i could complain about because this phone is Just amazing... The battery, the performance, gaming... This can compete to other quadcore smartphones

Basically it's a money well spent, this is a midrange phone performing at high end capacity. Unless you are very much concerned about os updates, as you may see in the other thread in this section.

Im not satisfied.
Front and backcamera are horrible.
The wifi range is damn low
The phone is gettin hot pretty fast
Multi-tasking doesnt work sometimes (sometimes I get fc, when I listen to music while browsin for an example)
Love mine. No problems, just a few minor bugs (wifi is weak, led bar no worky in stamina mode)
Mme so u like this phone but not 100%...i really don't care about camera... Mmm I have to think a bit before buy it
Thanks a lot people!
Wait for the update before you buy the phone.. the poor wifi and camera need a serious fix, if this doesn't happen I don't advice anyone to buy the phone.
I bought mine only a few days ago and I'm blown away by the bang for your money. It's a great mid range phone that feels high quality. Even on 4.1.2, the device feels really smooth and fluid to use. Plays games really well, Robocop, Real racing, injustice all play great.
Battery life is really good with stamina mode active. The sony UI is not floaty and quite a few of the bundles apps can be uninstalled without even rooting. Rooting is easy as pie, takes a few mins with 1 app.

I sold mine a few days ago.
Zero updates, still on 4.1 and somewhat buggy....8 long months were enough for me. I'm going Z1
SP: Great hardware, bad software.

the z1 mini will blow this out of the water, but don't forget that the z1 mini is a flagship almost and this is a midrange, if you can afford it go for the z1 mini other wise the sp is more than great. i got mine for free on a 2yr contract with a 100$ gift card. this phone competes with quad core flagships and in some ways out performs them like frame rate and battery. the only thing i don't like is the long wait till 4.3 and 4.4 other wise the camera is ok you just have to play with the settings. the light bar is EPIC people always stop and ask me what phone im using, its really cool. it never gets hot for me and never lags the biggest complaint is that it docent come with too many case option and accessories other wise this phone is superb id recommend it, feel free to pm if you have any questions
SIMPLY THE BEST MID RANGE PHONE RIGHT NOW. PERIOD.

It's a good phone. But the software need to be improved.
The memory management is very, very bad... If you are listen the music and open the Internet Browser probably the software will kill the music app.
The appdraw is frequently "redrawing".
You wont have a lot of Custom ROM (however there are good Custom ROM like eXistenZ).
Anyway it is a good phone.
If I were to buy a new phone today in the same range price I would of Moto G.
my sp c5303 doesn't have any of the wi-fi issues i keep reading here, maybe it's fixed on newer devices? i got mine in last november
I like it very much but the main problem which I face is the touch problem.
If that is solved then its great

Please don't bother otherwise, there's plenty of threads for that. Itd b nice to counter the balance a bit As the title says....

The phone feels fantastic in hand. It's form factor is what I would call perfect. On top of that, the build quality is surprising. I have no "creaks" or shoddy feeling areas like on the Atrix.

Zero problems .
GPS works and locks and sticks to route .
WiFi as good as SGS1
Battery no problems .
Screen no problems .
Sounds excellent though i can understand thats it not much good if you want to distort the sounds with extreme treble or base .

Hi, good phone, no real problems just slight weak wifi
Absolutely no problems here. Only gripe I have with phone at the moment is the game selection. But Live Holdem Poker works and thats the only one I play daily.

I don't know if the battery could be better but besides that this is an impressive phone. After you use this for a couple of days it is very hard to look back !!!
Pretty much everything is great for me. TW took a little time to get used to but it's been a solid experience
had this phone for a few weeks now and after my much loved hero, this is in a different league! if you dont have it, do sumthin to get it, you will not be dissappointed
Im loving my phone. Feels great in the hand. Doesnt feel too light! The screen is the finest screen ive seen on any smartphone. The blacks are just that. Ive not noticed any wifi strength issues at all. Call quality is very clear. Voice commands work impressively well. No reception issues.
I can also confirm that i am getting approximately 32 hours of normal everyday use out of one charge. Which i believe to be very impressive.
Luckily i can say ive not had a single issue that others have reported.
Best phone I've ever owned (came from G1 to Desire to this)
Thanks for the effort peeps interesting to see a couple of names from bug threads still rate the phone. Its a shame about how few came on tho, leads me to think that either
a) the phone sucks, don't believe that personally. Iv had a couple of sessions on it now in phones4u and cpw n love it.
b) people prefer to be negative than positive, this I can believe.
c) most have been happy enough with it to not bother coming to this forum
d) people don't want to comment knowing some **** will either bash them about being a noob or use the new favorite and call them a troll

I'll keep it short. I love this phone, its awesome. Its not perfect (a perfect phone will probably never exist) but I'm happier with this than I was with my SG1. I may even go as far to say that I'm more excited with this phone than I was when I got my first Nexus One. (the N1 was a huge upgrade for me, and my first real switch to android)
I don't have any serious problems, and haven't been disapointed in any way. My GF has a brand new HTC Inspire, and I would love to throw that away and get her one of these.
My setup is in my sig.

Battery, it drains like mad when in use. Its terrible compared to other smartphones out there. Screen is fine if you dont get about viewing angles. Its a good phone, dont get me wrong but I'm a heavy user and this phone cant get me through a day out so need to get something else. My iPhone 5 gets through the day and my S3 did. Not trying to put you off getting one, we all have different needs.

I see. I only ask because you were genuinely excited about the Xperia Z. Shame the battery couldn't live up to your requirements.
The battery issue won't be resolved unless OEMs stop competing for the 'slimmest smartphone' title and start slapping 3000mAh+ batteries on their phones ala Motorola
Samsung and LG do the same but only on their humungous phablets. Can't comment on the S4 but, as much as I dislike Samsung, i doubt they'll ever compromise on battery.

I have a feeling that you'll end up with an S4 at the end with it's 3200mAh or so battery. Although early reports indicate the the HTC One has slightly better battery than the XZ - mainly whilst watching videos ( 8ish hours vs 6ish hours, as per expertreviews).
Good luck!

thank you all guys I heard the note II has an amazing battery life
Battery life on the z could be better but it's comparable to S3 and Nexus 4 so I'm happy. I'm getting a charging dock or two and my car charger is 1a and charges the phone on AC so I'm more than chuffed as all my other phones only charged up to max 650ma on USB charging mode.
As for the one, battery life will be as awful as every other HTC released and the 4mp camera will be useless unless you only upload to instagram or Facebook.
Battery life is comparable to Nexus 4, but not to SIII, that one has much better battery life. Of these three I like XZ the most, but all of them have their pros and cons.

Well, I don't think you can get that performance for that money in any other phone atm.
The sound is a little low, although I've seen fixes for that if it bothers you. The camera is average for a modern smartphone. As is the battery life.
Big plus: Always having the latest updates. Also, the Support should last quite a while.
What else...I like the NFC technology and playing around with tags. Easier than I thought, too.
Looking into buying a QI charger atm. Being able to use those is another nice feature.
Then there is the look of the back Of course that's only good for something when you don't hide it in a bumper or case.
You can't get anything better if you're on a tight budget imho. :good:

bought the s4 and i tried the 5s for the past 2 weeks, both phones did not make me as excited/ kiddish as the note 3.
You will love the look and feel of this phone. The weight is perfect so it doesn't feel like a brick (LG Pro), speed is fast so it doesn't get the lag (S4), big without being too big with bezels (Sony Xperia Z Ultra), OS is complete butter so it is fast (Moto X), while it lacks the external speakers (HTC One) it makes up for it with better sound quality when using head phones. Camera is excellent and video doesn't have focus issues (LG G2). Hope that explains it a little better and compares it with every new phone out right now. I have owned all the phones and didn't mention the Lumia 1020 (great camera, terrible battery and OS missing apps), Xperia Z (love the waterproof but camera terrible, Xperia ZL, same as Z, S4 Active had excellent screen and all around better than the Sony Z line for me. iPhone 5s was same as 5 for me even tho I did like the fingerprint unlock and faster burst mode camera (but not worth the upgrade IMO). Have a good day.

I am. I've been watching people in the international N3 post what an "incremental" upgrade the N3 is over the N2. It's night and day. The look, feel, updated Samsung apps, the fluidity. I'm pretty happy. I haven't gotten it all set up yet and will post something more detailed once I do. I'm coming from an international N2 and was terrified what AT&T would do to their version. All of their apps can be disabled except for the Mobile Hotspot app which I'll need anyway. And I haven't found anything missing yet except the ability to disable the Mobile Data connection. So far so good.
Where are you guys getting the phone from? AT&T says I have to wait until tomorrow.

Well. So far so good. It's a whole new world for me. I left Sprint for At&T after being with them for years. I'm on my first real Samsung phone after having every HTC since the Hero. I'm liking this phone a lot so far...but I do hope root access is gained eventually. There is a lot of carrier bloatware crap on this phone I'd like to ditch.
Happy new phone day everyone! Woohoo, am I psyched to play with my new phone. Now if work would just stop getting in the way of me having fun....and there was a custom recovery and root access...that'll come in time though, I'm sure.

I was amazed how light it is for the size, and the screen really pops. I look back at all the hand wringing about the PenTile display and realize how silly it was. Looks incredible.
After all thease months, after all good and bad moments it's time to say goodbye and move on to my next device.
I bought LG G3 couple of weeks ago and today I'm selling my Xperia Z. It's so hard to move on because Xperia Z reminds me on true legend, Xperia X10i. It's such a great device to have. In fact , after using G3 for couple of weeks I'm so disappointed with this device (laggy software, not so great build quality) so I'll probably sell it and buy a real device, Xperia device (Z2 or Z3).
I'm gonna miss this forum so much, I'm gonna miss all You guys. Good luck and take care! :good:
So, the G3 isn't great then? I'm looking at getting a new device next month and it was a possibility, as reviews seem to be all positive. The Z3 is also on my list along with the N6.
I'm leaning towards the N6 because of ease of root etc and the huge development support that comes with the Nexus devices, but I'll see closer to the time as Sony has established itself as my current best Android OEM because of the great experience I've had with the Z.
Anyway, good luck for the future and I'm sure I'll see you around.

LG G3 has beautiful display, one of the best out there, but 1440 x 2560 res is unnecessary because you can't see the difference between fullHD and this with naked eye. Camera is ok but not breathtaking (I think that LG use Sony 13 mpx module), Lollipop ROM is laggy, signal strength is lower than on other devices. Battery life is ok but not great, double tap to lock/unlock function is fantastic. If you look for development support I can't recommend you this phone, at least for now. On the other side I tested Xperia Z3 last week. Fantastic device, great looking, screen is beautiful, stock rom is fast and smooth, build quality is excellent. Battery life is insane, nice speakers, and camera is fantastic. I'm so in love with that phone man, I hope that Z3 is my next phone. And thanks for nice words.
I had a real bad experience with an LG device. The Optimus 2X was released with a lot of publicity as the first dual core Android phone and then abandoned with buggy software and only 2 updates in 2 years. I promised myself never to buy from them again, but the G3 was tempting me. Hearing your thoughts has put me off again!
So, Z3 or N6 it is probably.
Hope to see you around on the forums if I get a Z3.
Cheers.

Yeah, you never knew if the thing would be unresponsive when you picked it up to use it. The stock rom was woeful as well. The only reason I didn't trash it was because of the great developer support and custom roms.

I haven't really looked into anything yet, as I don't tend to start looking around at prices etc until I really am ready to buy a new device. The Z is still actually really usable despite being almost 2 years old now, so there's no urgent need.

MWC isn't THAT far away, and if the Z4 is announced then expect a Z3 price drop. The upgrades for the Z4 won't be game changers - an 810 with a better GPU, a slightly nicer display that may well be QHD, improvements to the camera I expect. With the amount of time people use their phones nowadays, battery life simply must improve. And with rumours that the actual Sony imaging department will handle the image processing, maybe the Z4 will get a stand-out camera. I really hope the RAW API's will be implemented by Sony. I'm looking at an upgrade too, maybe a Oneplus Two, or if they make a Nexus 5 2015 edition I'd bite. The Xperia Z was my first smartphone and I'd like to try other android devices.
Have any of you guys seen the new ASUS ZenFone that's to be released in March? It looks like an absolute animal of a phone and I'm very tempted to snap one up as soon as preorders are available because of its fantastic price and even better spec to follow, but I'm worried about the developer support as there hasn't really been a great deal of support for ASUS' previous ZenFone generations, do you guys think that the price would pull more developers in?

Have any of you guys seen the new ASUS ZenFone that's to be released in March? It looks like an absolute animal of a phone and I'm very tempted to snap one up as soon as preorders are available because of its fantastic price and even better spec to follow, but I'm worried about the developer support as there hasn't really been a great deal of support for ASUS' previous ZenFone generations, do you guys think that the price would pull more developers in?

Is that the one with the Intel processor? Yikes, as far as I know, developer support on those devices is nowhere near the level of your standard Snapdragon phones. Exynos processors in Samsung's are very common and even those are shunnes., with developers working on Snapdragons instead.
Quad HD sounds nice on paper but it doesn't bring any visual differences that your eyes can detect. Except the low battery indicator flashing more frequently?

I have used a LG G3 for more than a while.. I couldn't see anything wrong with it on KK.. Compared its display with a Z3 and saw the difference in detail and also under sunlight it seemed better than Z3.. Ofc 2k comes into play as well.. So it would be wrong to compare. Also the gestures are nice on any high end LG phone which Xperia's miss officially.. And battery life on G3 is amazing for the h/w it has.. I hardly saw a hiccup even the LG UI.. Camera is decent(Probably same as XZ).. Atleast it seemed the same when i compared my XZ cam with it.. G3 is a beast phone and i think their LP fw update might be buggy since its just initial update.. Ofc u have to wait for another 1 or 2 bug fixing updates to experience the best of LP on any phone for that matter..

I agree with you, but I sold it yesterday anyway. I ordered Z2 this morning and that's my next phone. Cheers.

Hi
What's Google's policy regarding transferring paid for apps from one phone to another? Can they be shared on 2 phones?

You just have to sign in on the other device. I have a couple of phones and a tablet on the same Google account and can use paid apps on all of them with no issues.

We don't really need a new thread for everyone who leaves to another device. If you already have a thread you can post it there, but a new thread isn't needed.
