hd2 stuck on startup all android rom - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hi
i installed many rom on hd2 via clk cwm .zip from sd card many rom stuck on start up but some starts but after restarting or powering off the the same problem with all roms plz help to boost ur thanks meter

Make sure you perform "wipe data factory reset" in cwm, to ensure the files on the ext and android folder on fat32 are cleared before flashing the rom.
If possible try a different SD card and sim, they can both cause issues occasionally.
Any stability issues on winmo?

Just give us more info about that ..
Are you sure you are using correct system partition size?
Any SD-ext? Sense (big) roms?
Did you try complete reflash? (-> winmo -> hspl -> radio -> clk+cwm -> android)
You (We) can check your logcat, there should be answer for this issue.

i dont know about the system partition i think this is the problem some roms need
160/5 mb system partition how to do this partition

I had the same issue and I redownloaded and reinstalled CWR from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
I used the 400mb file from the post.
Cheers

thats a fine fix, however if you flash a smaller rom to that, you will waste the extra space. so flash a 250 meg rom to a 400 meg partition, you will lose 150 meg, it wont be used for apps or data, the system will just ignore it.

Every time u flash do TASK29,RADIO,MAGLDR,CWR ,FORMAT SD,PARTITION SD then put rom on it then flash it. Everytime i do not follow that procedure i stuck on boot

Always Task 29.

Hello guys,
I am experiencing the same problem with my HD2.
I have Tasked29, flashe MGLDR, CWR, formatted and partitioned SD, then placed ROM file and flashed. I reboot and the phone gets stuck on the HTC screen. The flashing of the ROM takes very little time. Before I had this problem, flashing a ROM would take longer than what it does now. It completes in about 10 seconds or less!
I can't figure out what's wrong. I had to re-install an old ENRGY Windows ROM; better than nothing! This ROM is working fine, even without the SD card.
I had been flashing CWR 4.0. I will flash 3.0.2.5 and see what happens.
Any one has any ideas please?

Follow this tutorial by kylew1212 to install cLK 1.5 . (don't forget to thank him)
After it installs, boot while holding the back button > Settings > Repartition NAND > *After you finish selecting your sizes* choose "COMMIT" .
Phone will reboot, then go to "Recovery" and flash your rom from there.

[Q] HD2 Nand ROM issue - freeze's on first reboot

Hi there
i've had a search through the forums and google, but havent come up with anything...
the isue is, after flashing a new CWM NAND ROM on my HD2, the rom will load perfectly the first time. however the issue is when i try to reboot the phone... it loads through cwm, but hangs on loading the rom...
this has happened on several different rom's, and after several task29/mgldr/cwm re-flashes...
Any ideas?

Have you tried doing absolutely nothing after first boot, other than skipping through the setup wizard? What I'm wondering is what you may be installing / doing that could be causing this.
One thing that could help is to run logcat with the phone connected during bootup and you could see what is causing it.

Yeah, looking at your log, you are definitely in a boot loop. Android keeps restarting after what looks like initializing the audio... looks like some files are missing.
What ROM are you using? Have you applied anything (updates) else at all through CWM other than the ROM? Does the ROM you are using require an SD-EXT partition? Is your SD card in the phone?

just use the "daf" folder that comes with the build once you unzip it.
it has the CWR setting configuration all done ready for the build
just flash it.
My issue is: When phone loads android from NAND (sometimes it freezes in GO GO GO) I can use it some unpredictable time. FE. When I switching Mobile Network on it(after 1-2 it freezes). I even upgraded radio to 2.15. No changes still freezes. Second point is, when I turn off radio module and starting using dev. (FE while playing Angry Birds) it freezes again, with the noise on spekers. In my case I detaching battery and waiting for a while (because if you put battery again after a second) it freezes on GOGOGO again. WTF with device. Maybe it is a physical problem?
Dev is TMOUS HD2 16gb.
ps. When I used Android via SD same freeze always happened only with Angry Birds. In WinMo I didnt recognize such issues. Oooh. One more thing. When I tried to go back to WM 6.5 off.ROM. nothing happened after upgrade. I think my device will always live with Android till the end of the days. Thank you in advance!

no roms are working help

OK. So the only rom I can get to work is cm7. I have like 15 Tom's on my SD card. But all of them get stuck on the boot screen. Does anyone know the main cause of this or is it rom specific?
Any help would be great.
I would prefer to use MARKINUXHD.
check my thread, it may help
btw, before installing a new rom, you are wiping data/cache/dalvik cache, and you are using the right cwm partition / cache right ?

Yea I always wipe everything. And alot of rom threads don't specify which CWM partition to use. How do I make a cache partition?
you need the right recovery size for the rom or it wont boot past the roms logo screen I've issued this before, read up on the rom ye want to see what partition recovery it needs, if not look up the clockwork mod instructions around the forum they may help with your situation

You should download the NAND toolkit from sticky thread in NAND section, it will help you allot.
By the way, when creating help topics like this, common sense should dictate you also post which specific roms you are trying to install, otherwise any advice anybody gives you is just blind or you make people waste time asking which rom you are trying to install.
List the main ones you want to try and we can advise on exactly what to do if it isn't clearly set out in the roms thread (which I doubt).

Well the installation instructions are included in that topic so if it isnt booting you are obviously not following them correctly.
Well I've only done NAND flashes.
So with markinux...
I took the .7z folder and extracted it in my sdcard. Does it need to be somewhere specific? Then ran MAGLDR. Boot ad sd. It booted up. But then it hung up on boot screen.
EDIT:
I tried LeoRCMix too. That hung up on gogogo.

Ok so you are trying to boot from SD via MAGLDR? That should have also been stated in your post.
Are you downloading the SD-MAGLDR rom or the NAND rom?
This is the one you need for sd-magldr.
If you are booting from SD then it doesnt matter what partition you have on nand as taht is for booting from nand.
Did you go into magldr settings and choose your AD SD folder location? If not go there, set it and try again. If you still have problems then you may need to properly format your card with Panasonic SDFormatter (Full>Overwrite+size Adjustment)
Ok thanks for the help. I'll try and let you know.
EDIT:
Can I just make a folder in my sd card, extract the .7z folder there, then boot ad sd?(as long as I set the right directory)
Cuz I tried that and still stuck at boot screen. Everything I have on my phone is in my signature. (radio etc.)

No.
As stated in the instruction, You need to extract the archive contents to the root of your card.
Also, have a little patience when booting for first time, Some roms need to extract files first before booting into OS, so boot and leave it be for 10-20 mins.
Where is the root of an sd card?
EDIT:
Is it just the main part? Where all my files sit?
EDIT 2:
Yup. x]

do this...depending on the recommended recovery size (typically 5-150-5 for non sense versions) download a recovery from here ..then restart you phone...go into magldr...go to flasher...once the usb is linked to pc run daf.exe from the recovery (extracted folder)...u will then have recovery installed

Great ! I will try it out as well. I have been getting this error for the last few times. I am not sure why this happened.
I installed a WP7 rom and then went back to android (hopeless battery drain with my SD card ... not sure if I can ever do something about that). I could not get back to AD recovery.
Thanks again !

If you loaded WP7 it may have locked your SD Card - need to format in a Nokia phone. Or reduced the usable size to 200mb - this can be fixed with a partitioning tool from PC
when go back and forth between WP7 and Android the nand is overwritten ... thats why you loose your AD recovery.
REMEMBER - if you ever try WP7 and come back to Android dont forget youll need to task 29 (to clean out that nasty M$ dirt!), flash magLDR, flash recovery ( i usually stick with a 200 mb partition, as i usually run Hyperdroid, AND that way there are no worries about bad blocks), and then the rom.
although its not NECESSARY its recommended buuuut to avoid weird restarts, FCs, and any other random glitches that may occur down the short road ITS NECESSARY! :-D
good luck
hello everyone! I just installed android on my HTC HD2 successfully but when the phone reboot, shows me the MAGLDR says me that android booting from start and I have to setup android everytime I reboot the phone from the start. someone help me passing this step. thankyou in advance

NexusHD2-CM9 broken!

Hey Guys!
I'm a bit new here, but I have register to become an answer to my question which I haven't found yet.
I've flashed my HD2 with tytung's "NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.0" (with task29, radio reinstalled, hspl reinstalled, maglrd reinstalled & cwm reinstalled).
the problem is: after minutes of bootscreen I have to enter my Pin, I do.
There is given the text "Unlocking SIM" , while "he" do so, de screen turns black and I have to enter my Pin again and again. Sometimes he simply accept and go on, but then many process' crash! Process' like: android.process.acore , google.process.gapps, com.android.phone android keyboard ..
they all crash in a row and latest then I have to enter my Pin again.
Could anybody help me?
did you try to reflash the rom?
go to recovery, wipe data/factory reset & advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
after that, install the rom again.
I also have the issue that my phone stucks at the htc screen...i wait for 20 minutes now but nothing happens...i'll try to flash a bigger partition layout magldr...
Try the SD build
Hi, too bad you are having difficulty.
I am running the SD version of the same OS with do problem.
Two options:
Try the SD build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437463
Just remember to rename the Folder to ICS, then tell MAGLDR to boot from SD / ICS
or try going back to a stable ROM, remove all PIN codes, then reinstall CM9
Good Luck
i have already removed all pin codes.
also i tried a full wipe with task29 and used the 250mb system partition because i read something about bad nand blocks.
earlier i tried to boot some sd builds that were made for boot with magldr, but without any success...if i go to the selection of the android sd folder in magldr it just pushes me back to magldr main menu :/
my hd2 is difficult to understand because it doesn't work as others do >.<

First: thanks, that there are people which consider to be with me with my problem
yea, i've already reflashed the rom (felt like 20 times!) ..
and I've actually tried to install no sd-version, I kept it as a loophole. ^^
Situation now: I've simply ignored the messages that every important process is going to die and just clicked the failures away. after that he wants to reboot, to get access to the mobile network --- I click "Reboot" und have now a Bootloop ...
i also tried another ics rom without cm9 and got the bootloop at the first boot...
I dont understand why no rom is running on my phone...
So guys !
I've done it ;D
Have simply used the sd-version and it works great!
@RichieGKB: If you have any question to the sd-version, message me !
Good post Charles, it helps me.
Seems to helps you too guys. Don't forget to hit thanks button!
i tried the full wipe and also a larger system and cache partition to get the rom working, but it still doesn't on nand.
I'm downloading the sd version at the moment, but this can't be the solution for the future :/
maybe i have to wait for newer versions of this rom
ah I solved the problem.
I didn't change the system partition layout in recoverys .cfg file. I didn't know that i have to do this because i thought it would be enough to install another version of magldr
@weedstar: Thats not the problems solution.. next time try to fix permissions via CWM. Sd version is slow. Nand is better.

Try a slightly larger partition than 165. Sometimes, through over-flashing, your NAND gets bad blocks, and (if I'm not mistaken) this could lead to a larger than normal partition being needed. Maybe 180?
i tryed with 180 and 250 but nothing ... still stuck on go go go
with 250mb and 20 cache ICS v1.5 still stuck on gogogo but ICS beta10 stuck on htc booting screen
Okay, follow this guide written by me a few months ago :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16528026&postcount=7
In step 8, download ICS rom you want and in step 10, make it 170 instead of 150 and 10mb of cache.
Then report back your results.
P.S .. In order to analyze your problem you must follow the steps exactly as they are.
@Nigeldg :
Even if he is having bad blocks, they could be anywhere, they don't have to be in the system partition. They could be in the /boot or /cache (or even /recovery).
So he'd have to enlarge those as well.

again Go Go Go stuck i have SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE .. if this important
I've tryed everything you tell me but no result v1.5 stuck on go go go and 2.3.7 stuck on black screen with green HTC text
Okay, Let's summarize your problem :
1- You want ICS, and you have a T-mobile HD2 and 2GB sdcard. (With HSPL 2.08)
2- As per your information, you have flashed MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM 4 with the correct partition sizes.
3- However, you are stuck at "GO GO GO" screen.
4- You DID try Task29 but to no avail.
5- ICS v1.5 sticks to "GO GO GO" screen, but ICS beta10 sticks on the HTC bootscreen, and gingerbread 2.3.7 sticks on the green HTC splash.
Do and report results of the following:
1- Check for bad blocks. (If you find any, don't continue the steps, report back instead)
2- Check your sdcard for any leftovers of past ROMs . (e.g. .android_secure )----[Do this and try ICS again. If it worked, otherwise, go on with the steps]
3- Upgrade your CWM to 5.0.27 (I used to have problems with 4 until I upgraded to 5)-[Do this and try ICS again. If it worked, otherwise, go on with the steps]
4- Change your radio to 2.15 (and if you're currently on this, try 2.12) ----------------[Do this and try ICS again. If it worked, otherwise, go on with the steps]
5- Try HyperDroid & TBD. (Each one with its specific partition sizes.)
6- If none of the above solve your problem, roll back to complete stock and assure that your device is working well.
I hope you get it fixed.
(P.S : I have a bad feeling about the red part, i.e. it marks a problem beyond task29 or incorrect partition size)

I would give a +1 to this, except from what I've heard 3.0.2.4 was the most stable version (?), so try using the CWM package attached at the bottom of this thread (try GB first with a 150Mb partition)
my suggestion is to try to back to wm6.5, just for verify if your phone works....
try with the sd leoimg.nbh method...
this will flash 3.03spl (just unlock after)
see if wm boots, if not I think you have a problem...
if it boots retry to flash ics or gb
