K first, honestly this isn't my note...but a coworkers' who purchased after seeing mine (!)..... who I stupidly encouraged to root (because he never even heard of 'root' before. I rooted it a few days ago.
He tried to flash a rom Monday via odin and is stuck on the triangle page. It will boot to CWM recovery.
I took it last night and can 'successfully' flash anything but still goes to the triangle and just stays there.
After quizzing him on the steps he took I believe the mistake he made was formatting system before wiping everything...(he says it was in the directions....its not).
So anyway...I'm not teribbly saavy myself and'd love some direction here.
Thanks
Bumb for help here!
can you get into odin?
Yes...sure can

Hi guys long time lurker, first time poster.
Here's the story:
Was running CM 10.2 on my Galaxy S4 AT&T. Everything ran great etc. I decided to flash a new kernel. Upon flashing the kernel I received an error (I must have not done such great research before I did this) but figured nothing had changed since the flash did not go successfully. I proceeded to reboot my phone and lo and behold I'm stuck with a black screen and a constant vibration as if the phone is going to boot up but it doesn't. I immediately went to Odin as I have done when things go awry. After flashing stock firmware Odin says that everything went successful and my phone reboots. However it does not reboot to any screen (no splash screen, no Samsung logo absolutely nothing) just constant vibration and I'm back to square one I cannot boot into recovery I have tried the button combo many, many times but the phone just keeps on fake vibrate booting. The only screen I can get to is the download menu. The things I have tried so far:
1. Flashing back to stock firmware with Odin.
2. Flashing stock kernel by itself with Odin.
3. Tried to flash a custom recovery but since my phone is no longer rooted Odin was giving me a failed message.
4. Tried flashing stock recovery by itself with Odin.
5. Tried Kies but no success either.
I assume no files from a custom ROM will flash successfully as my phone is not rooted. So I guess my question here is am I bricked forever? Odin recognizes my phone and I have read that there is some hope if this happens but I have come to many dead ends searching for a solution to this problem. Have I exhausted my resources on this one or are there a few more things to try? If I left out any information I'll be more than happy to provide what I missed. Thank you in advance.
You flashed a kernel not for your device and have hard bricked your phone. Look up jtag and mobiletechvideos.com

Yep. That is exactly correct.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks guys. I actually went to AT&T and played dumb. Since the phone was still under warranty they just replaced it on site.

Replaced it with MDL or MF3? If MDL, you better block the OTA quickly, If MF3, you better do some reading.
Ok folks,
Noob to posting but have used this forum for everything android. I hope this is in the right spot! If not please behead me and humiliate me, also point me in the right direction.
Issue: Upon boot my phone displays "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" but will continue to boot. Quick background info,
Ran some cheesy one click style root app from playstore(facepalm) it never posed an issue. I installed CWM and never used it after install. This weekend i got tired of stock rom so i decided id find something more on the AOSP side. I attempted to backup than upon reboot i got that message, took me hours to get out of the bootloop and get connected to odin to flash twrp. Completed and successful I booted into recovery and flashed gummy rom onto my phone. Its mostly an annoyance than anything! But i was wondering if anyone had any experience or a solution for this
Muchly appreciated.
Cheers,

That message is completely normal when using a custom recovery, and you can safely ignore it.
So, what happened is I let a friend borrow my Note 3 running on NC2 with Safestrap and Hyperdrive rom. This guy decided to do a factory reset in Hyperdrive instead of wiping the data from safestrap recovery. Now the phone is stuck in a bootloop with the first splashscreen and the blue "recovery booting" message at the top left corner. Then it re-boots and on and on.
Looks like Safestrap was wiped, unless there's another way to get in I can't think of?
I assume that what I need to do is revert back to the stock image with Odin. The problem I have now is that I no longer have access to the stock NC2 rom images/firmware and everywhere I have looked has taken the files down. If anyone has those files and could either send them to me or point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful! Without them I'm screwed other than installing the OEM rom and I'll lose my precious root forever I fear, if I've been reading the forums correctly.
Thank you for any help you could provide!

Alright, so I booted into Download Mode and then pressed down to restart, and that took me back to Safestrap and into the rom again. So, if anyone else has this problem, I hope this helps!
Something to be aware of though is that pretty much all the links to the stock rom files for the Verizon Note 3 are dead for anything older than Lollipop. If you still have the files lurking around on your phone or PC you may want to hold on to them for dear life.
I am wanting to flash my phone back to absolute stock 4.4.4 NK7 but am having trouble locating the files needed to do so. I have looked everywhere (that I'm aware of) and have come up empty handed. Thank you for any help you can give in this matter. It is greatly appreciated.
Let me be more specific. I was attempting to install Optimalrom via Safestrap and now I only receive the "Samsung Galaxy S5", (unlock symbol) "custom" "Powered by Android" screen. I can still boot into recovery which is now LRX21T.G900VVRU2BOG5. I can also boot into Odin/download mode.
P.S. : If you'll take the time to assist me, I'll buy you a cup of coffee.
I bought some time with Sammobile. Downloaded the NK2 FW and now have my phone back in order.

I flashed mine to Optimal last week and ran in to the same problem. If I recall, the instructions in the Optimal thread said to flash ROM then firmware then OD5 bootloader. I used that sequence and froze on the same screen as you. Decided to try something so I wiped again and flashed ROM then bootloader second and then firmware and it came right up as it should and has been running fine since. I think I might try something else though, not real impressed with the battery life versus stock un-rooted.
I just got back in to being able to root again last week with a warranty replacement stroke of luck that came in as BOC4
I was trying to root my phone today using kingoapp (one-touch root), and it froze not long after completion ("android is upgrading, Starting apps.."). i let ths sit for about 45mins just in case it was actually doing something but nothing happened.
I forced a reboot and the phone wouldn't start up again. I wasn't able to get into recovery mode either. After a bit of reading up, I flashed the chainfire autoroot file and the stock ROM - this now allowed me into recovery mode.
Problem is, I till can't get the phone to boot - it just sits at the samsung logo and goes no further. If I reflash the stock .md5 in odin, then i get to the "android is upgrading, Starting apps.." again but it goes no further. the md5 I'm using is N9005XXUBMI7_N9005O2UBMHD_N9005XXUBMI6_HOME.tar.md5
Am I missing something obvious?
