[Q] How to root T-Mobile myTouch 3g? (Android 2.2.1)

I am noob in android
I have T-Mobile myTouch 3g with Android 2.2.1 (official from T-Mobile)
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT - 1.33.0013 (SAPP 30000)
CPLD - 10
RADIO - 2.22.28.25

I want to install a custom firmware, but I can't do this... At me it turns out nothing..

I use SuperOneClick.exe located on this forum for 2.2.1 builds.

I'm closing this because we're out of spoons to feed with.

Vodafone official 2.2.1 problem

i have a vodafone magic, i was using android stock 1.6 and everything was going fine until i updated to vodafone's official 2.2.1 update over wifi.
now my magic would occasionally get stuck and randomly restarts itself. any cure to this problem? i want to go with a custom rom now. my device is not rooted, i dont see HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP10000) in the HBOOT collection thread.
i have tried searching here and there and found nothing
can anybody tell me where to make a start?

Search "unroot mytouch 1.2" and go the the thread titled "finally a way to unroot". The file you need is in he first post. You will however lose you Fender splash image and the guitar app going this route. If you want the original Fender back its impossible, however there is a custom ROM that is pretty close.

[Q] htc mytouch 3g 32b fully brick really need help guys

i had my htc mytouch 3g very well but y decided to run it the ruu given in tha thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403 (this one 46) [xda-ftp] [4shared] 2.10.531.4 T-Mobile USA DRD35) then i got my android unrooted and i can by passed the activator screen them i decide update whit this one (47) T-MOBILE OTA UPDATE from 2.10.531.4 DRD35 to FRG83D [4shared])
i run it from theandroid system recovery after that i didnt see the bootscreen just the logo of mytouch 3g and reboot it alone agiain and again not system well later i decide to rooted whit the nhb given here (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Magic_(32B):_Rooting) not work tells me Main version is older
so the question is is my phone already a crab or it can be fix ? pls help whit that

At first, need SPL-info:
Turn phone off
Then turn on by pressing and holding Back + Power (it's a fastboot-mode)
Write first 5 rows (all symbols are important)
p.s. if your phone is bootlooping - to get into fastboot-mode you need turn off - remove battery, wait a few minutes and place back...

After some investigations in PM solution is:
Flash 3.12.531.1 because it is stock ROM for T-mobile mytouch 3g
Owner in this problem flashed wrong rom (2.10.531.4 - it is for T-mobile mytouch 3g v1.2; this phone has different hardware and official roms than old mt3g)

HTC Unlock Bootloader + myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm 32A

I was trying to flash an ICS rom in myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm, and I mess things and wrong the phone. Through trying to get to stock state I also try the HTC Unlock Bootloader for HTC Magic and after using the file SAPP31000_Sapphire_hboot_1.33.0014G now I have this:

What benefits bring the HTC Unlock Bootloader to myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm 32A

I manage to root my phone by trial and error with a combination of three applications:
Superoneclick
z4root
Universal Androot
I don't remember which one and what version but they help me. I suggest to try all.

I finally got it.. learned alot .. then i had to reroot it cause i restored tmous and during the process flashed the wrong eng spl it powers on but no fast boot or recovery. I guess jtag is the only option.. sad part is its my girlfriends from

Sad to hear that. These devices are in big problems when spl and radio don't matches the originals.
Good lock on jtag, sorry I can't help you in that.
