Search "unroot mytouch 1.2" and go the the thread titled "finally a way to unroot". The file you need is in he first post. You will however lose you Fender splash image and the guitar app going this route. If you want the original Fender back its impossible, however there is a custom ROM that is pretty close.

Nope, that phone can't be rooted.
Not even with a downgrade?
That is how you root, by downgrading. But no, no one has been able to do so, gold card or whatever method.
I think the developers have moved to newer and shinier phones.
You can follow developments by searching this forum or the developers' forum.

Note the 'rooted' link in my signature, I rooted my Fender last night. That's currently the only rom I know of thus far that works.
I have one of the older mytouch 3g phones and need to root it...what is the best route to take without bricking my phone?

i have a vodafone magic, i was using android stock 1.6 and everything was going fine until i updated to vodafone's official 2.2.1 update over wifi.
now my magic would occasionally get stuck and randomly restarts itself. any cure to this problem? i want to go with a custom rom now. my device is not rooted, i dont see HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP10000) in the HBOOT collection thread.
i have tried searching here and there and found nothing
can anybody tell me where to make a start?

Just use the superoneclick method, and the official 32b magic ROM sucks, try out better ROMs in the g1 section

I'm gonna go on a limb and say u have the magic 1.2 with 3.5mm head phone jack then no that's basically the newest radio for us

you have the latest........... you can change your spl to ezterry's 1.33.0013d spl. but thats all unless you want to downgrade (or change to the 3.22 or 6.35 radios and brick your phone)
