I'm having a problem with the Hyperdroid / ADW Launcher "phone" app - the stock phone that comes with Froyo is much better and I'd like to use that one, but with the rest of the ADW Launcher / CM6 skinning. The problem I'm having is HyperDroid RMO is at 167 DPI, it seems, which makes the new phone skin very tiny and hard to use effectively. I'd like a phone where the keypad takes up more of the screen and is eaasier to use one handed or "on-the-fly".
Anyone else running into this problem? I did a search and couldn't find any threads with a similar question.
change the dpi in the build.prop or if it can be changed in the startup.txt to 240
I was wondering since I'm running RMK Vision Gingerbread Sense r2 :: 2.42.405.2 and the physical keyboard shows no icons when using 'Alt, SYM' can I change that? Like the CM7 keyboard?
Yesterday I switched to 240dpi from the default 320dpi on my note (LC2).
Below is a list of what is not displaying / working well and possible alternatives:
Calculator - Usable but not scaling to fullscreen, get any calculator from play store.
Stock Dialer - Usable but not scaling to fullscreen, using Go Contacts Ex
S Memo - Unusable due to background, use modded version of S Memo
S Memo lite - Same problem as S Memo. No fix yet, seldom use so not much of an issue.
Some choose to skip S Memo totally and use similar apps instead.
S Planner - "Year" view is truncated, unable to view last 3 months. No fix yet.
TouchWiz launcher - Not tested since I hate it and was using Go Launcher EX since day 1.
I did change grid size on Go launcher to 8 x 6 after changing to 240dpi
Voice recorder - Unusable. FC on launch, substitute with Voice Recorder
Hope this helps prepare those who are planning the switch to 240dpi.
I have not tested all apps, only those I frequently use.
Anyone else experienced problems with other apps? Kindly post with alternative.
Thanks!
Thanks for the tip about the voice recorder. It kept force closing, but i never connected it to running at 240dpi.
I'm running ADW Launcher EX myself, and everything is working really nicely actually, except of course the dialer and smemo, which I've replaced.

Touchwiz doesn't work at 240dpi in that it doesn't scale at all. Shame on you Samsung! Why can you not do what all the other launchers manage to do?
HI thanks for the info, I just installed the go dialer ex and calengoo and uninstalled s-planner ;D 240 dpi rulez!

using a stunner ics rom, runs totally great on 260dpi. on stock samsung i guess 320 is still the best to go?

Can anyone help on How to Tweak/Change notification panel toggles ???
And Use a note2 keyboard like ??(numbers above letters without having to shift )
Running stock 4.2.2 on franco kernel
Thx
You need custom rom like AOKP and such to do so. As for the keyboard you probably need to download an alternative from the play store. Maybe swype has it..

You can have it with stock keyboard but letters will be a bit smaller.. Go to advance in android keyboard then custom input style and select English and desktop I believe it is..

Hello guys, today I would like to share one of my personal favorite keyboard (which I discovered recently ) is the Jelly Bean keyboard pro.. this keyboard has very good layout n great prediction. you will get few themes which are per installed but the best part is all the Go Keyboard Themes are supported by this one .
currently I'm using a theme called - "Go keyboard ink theme" which is pretty amazing.
you guys should give it a try & post your feedbacks..
