HyperDroid / CM6 Final Phone App - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I'm having a problem with the Hyperdroid / ADW Launcher "phone" app - the stock phone that comes with Froyo is much better and I'd like to use that one, but with the rest of the ADW Launcher / CM6 skinning. The problem I'm having is HyperDroid RMO is at 167 DPI, it seems, which makes the new phone skin very tiny and hard to use effectively. I'd like a phone where the keypad takes up more of the screen and is eaasier to use one handed or "on-the-fly".
Anyone else running into this problem? I did a search and couldn't find any threads with a similar question.

change the dpi in the build.prop or if it can be changed in the startup.txt to 240

Turning Off Sense

Is there a way to turn off sense or maybe install APK's to replace the crapware. I'd like to get the standard android Contacts app instead of this pain to use sense version.
Thanks for and information, I'll be eagerly awaiting root and CM5
I also want to remove the UI tmobile has placed on it.
Just want android 2.1 vanialla or with htc sense
You can always choose a launcher program. helix launcher, adw launcher, and launcherpro are the 3 best. I use adw launcher. helix is the only one in the market right now, the others you have to get apk file. adw launcher has the apk on their website now since google is haveing market issues. This will give you a great stock-like experience and can be customized a little beyond stock which is nice but you don't have to if you want it very stock.
there is a way to sort of remove sense but once you do it i dont know if you can get it back without hard reseting it. Go to settings/applications/manage applications then find htc sense click on it then clear the memory after that push the home key and it should give you the option to pick the regular android launcher.
disclaimer this worked on older versions of sense ie the 1.5 based heros have not tried on the slide yet

Actually it does, it resets your quicklinks or shortcuts on your screen.
EDIT:
If you changed your homepage from the default 5 screen to 7 and did the procedure mentioned above, your homepage will revert back to 5 screens even if you changed your settings in the "Personalize" to 7 pages. I tried it on mine just to see the effect and ended up hard resetting my device to get it back to actually seeing 7 screens. Please correct me if it's only me, a bug or if anyone has a better solution than doing a hard reset.

Screen rotation animation on CM6

Hi there, I'd like to know if there is any way to enable screen rotation animation on CM6 (FroyoRedux mod, most specifically), or if it is disabled due to performance issues. In my previous ROM (can't record the name right now, but it was a modded 1.5 w/ Sense UI), I had this animation where the screen faded and then rotated. Tried CM settings, couldn't find anything like this. Neither in ADW settings nor Spare Parts. Searched the market, googled it, nothing. I'd really appreciate any help in getting something like this in FroYo.

So no one has a rotating home screen using Gingerbread? Im just asking for confirmation from someone.
I am using MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.5 and mine works just fine.
I am using this as well, (MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.5) and landscape works just fine, even with the non ex, free ADW.
I'm using NexusHD2 Gingerbread v2 and it works fine as well. I'm not using the stock launcher though - I use Launcher Pro (I use the paid version for extra features, but there is a free one).
If your using: ADW Launcher, Go to it's Settings / UI Settings / Screen Preferences / Home Orientation: Auto/sensor
That gets it to rotate into Landscape.
auto rotate home?
i got pure gingerbreak cwm 1.9 i think and i cant get it to rotate to landscape on the home screen or the launcher either ....i scoured the settings all i could find is auto rotate and it was already checked
or try imilkas rom it works perfectly.

Auto Rotation does not work on stock launcher. Use an alternative such as LauncherPro or ADW launcher to get the rotation feature.

Touch Wiz 4 I9001

Is it posible to port TW4 form I9000 value pack or from I9100 to I9001 (S+) because the TW from the value pack of the I9001 has some issues.
TW4 in i9001 value pack is seriously bugged and I from what I've read easiest way to use it is to install custom ROM based on KQ1, KQB or KQE. You may also try this modified launcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
KQ1 is most stable and less bugged from other 2.3.6 ROMS but it's not value pack - it has old "glass" lockscreen and old TW. KQB and KQE are however very bugged for my taste, so I use KQ1 with GO Launcher EX or TW4.5
Actually, which are the bugs that TW for I9001 has? I've never noticed them. Anyway, I'm running XXKQI and GO Launcher EX, but a port from I9000 would be great

The small things make the difrance from Official to that 4.5 ported version, in my opinin it`s just to moded. I like my stuff moded but looking just like stock.
Our touchwizz 4 does not rescale widgets! s2 does. And if we delete some aps the apps in the appdrawer will be all scrabled.
Workaround: To alfabetise you`re appdrawer select TW from all apps menu (setting) and delete data!
Biggest TW4 bug that drove me crazy in XXKQE was that apps and icos sorted spontaneously every time i rebooted phone, and even sometimes when phone was running. Additionaly icons in dock bar used to return to defaults (I change stock messaging app to other one) very often. And lockscreen wallpaper couldn't be set to "none". That's all I've noticed

You can workaround both issues:
1) For TW4 find the apk under settings select it and delete data. all icons form app will be sorted alfabetical and desktop apps will be set to the default ones. Then set desktop as you wish and reboot to recovery and fix permisions. The apps will be saved at this.
2)For no lock screen wallpaper select no wallpaper from display setting then boot to recovery and fix permisions.
Remeber:
You must repeat (1) for TW4 for every new app you install and every new app shortcut to desktop you make.
You must repeat (2) for every time you set a lockscreen wallpaper and then you want to select no wallpaper again.
Best of luck

[Q] Neutrino v2.91 EE+Atrix 4G - Grid resizing

Hi...
I am test driving the Neutrino ROM on my Atrix 4G. So far I find it to be a very nice ROM but I have run into a small dilema...
Because of the fact that this ROM seems to be pretty stripped down on some features (one of the main reasons I choose to test it) it seems like the home/drawers screen sizes can not be re-sized. t seems to have a standard 4x4 grid size and the re-sizing seems to have been stripped out. I use MInimalistic Text to set up my home screen and the 4x4 grid limits what and how I can set my widgets up.
Is there any way to add this feature back into the ROM? It seems to be a Cyanogenmod display feature.
Thanks...
Uncle Kah
You have to change the launcher for that. No other way to do it. Holo launcher is very good for pre-ics.

Thanks el_venga... I did switch launchers but the same issue. It is a new launcher to me that does state that it can re-size the grid (Nemus Launcher) and such but I have not been able to find the option anywhere. I may switch to Holo if I can not find the proper solution shortly.
Ok... found it. The option under the Nemus Launcher was tucked away under an option called "HomeSettings". In my all mighty "noobiness", I was looking for "Display Settings" or something like that as I have become used to seeing.
