Has anybody else tried to use the amazon video app that was ripped from the kindle fire? The app loads up fine, I can get to the amazon account login page, but every time i hit login, I get "error has occurred".
It doesn't work with a rooted device, since it checks for superuser. A workaround is to use OTA rootkeeper, but I can't get it to detect my root. I have s-off and nightly 242.
OTA rootkeeper gets permission from superuser, but the "device rooted" box is unchecked, and I have no option for temp un-root.

I just rooted my Kindle and now I get an error message when I try to play Amazon Videos. The error is:
Your device is no longer configured correctly to play Amazon Videos. For more information see Help & Feedback under settings.
I didn't try to play videos before I rooted, so I don't know if that is the error or not. Anyone else with this problem?
I think there was a post a few days ago saying that if you rooted your kindle he instant stream would break. That person also confirmed it with amazon support.

Check the dev thread for this issue. Can be solved by unrooting.
Use OTA Root Keeper app. It allows you to backup root and unroot. You can then restore root with a single click.
Got the triangle screen and following instructions in guides are not fixing it. Heres my scenario. I got my kindle with 6.2 on it. Got it rooted, installed market and go launcher and was great. Then the update of course came thru and broke root. Still been able to download market apps and use go launcher. So I followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417284
to regain root and install twrp. It says root is successful, but superuser force closes everytime trying to open or use it. I can open my tibu and root explorer and everything still gave me root access. Went and changed the MarketIntentProxy.apk to MarketIntentProxy.apk.bak so market links go to market by default. That worked. Noticed that all amazon apps downloaded have a default amazon icon. Thought nothing of it. Went to install twrp anyway. Stuck at triangle now. Followed all instructions to fix and the KFU keeps flashing error device not found constantly and boot status unknown. Not showing up in my devices but I can eject via the safely remove hardware program. What happened? Did everything as guide states and watched the videos as I was doing each step.
Hey Everyone -
I got my Kindle two days ago and decided to root last night.
I first upgraded to 6.2.2 and then followed the new directions for rooting.
After some hiccups getting the computer to set up ADB correctly (ran into some conflicts with the drivers installed with my Nexus) I got everything working. I followed all the directions provided and installed superuser.
Here is where my problems begin...
I side loaded root explorer but I can't switch the file system over to R/W. When I load up the app I never see it requesting root permissions or see them granted. The superuser log is 100% empty.
When I load up OTA RootKeeper in order to try and watch prime videos I see the following:
Superuser app installed - checked
Device rooted - checked
Root permission granted - unchecked
Filesystem supports root protection - checked
Protected su copy available - unchecked
It seems to me like my device is somewhere between rooted and not and I can not for the life of me figure out what to do next. I can't install the market, OTA Rootkeeper won't work so I can watch prime videos. I lost functionality and gained nothing.
Any suggestions?
hmm...
thats kinda what happened to mine, i had root explorer but not superuser. I just restored it back to factory settings and re-rooted it, and now it works just fine with no problems. Good luck!
I had rooted my n7 with wug's toolkit 1.5.3 without flashing the CWM Recovery
everything works fine, i can find my superuser, but when I follow the guides here and installed market unlocker and droidvpn
I can access US play store, but I still can't use any of the Books, Magazine, Movie apps
when I go to the app page, the place where update button or install button are blank
should I re root my N7
or anything wrong in my root process?

I'm from germany, and i have a galaxy nexus. The ROM i have includes Magazines+ Movies but they are not in the app-drawer. There was an update recentely for these apps and i got the same effect as you (no update button or any other button in the market). That happened because the apps are frozen (meaning they are there, but don't show up anywhere). Once i unfreeze them with Titanium Backup, those buttons in the store appear. Maybe this is also what is causing the buttons to not show up on your device.
Hi All,
For some reason, just in the past week or so, with no changes to my vs980 except updating twrp to 2.8.1, i've lost all capability of superuser apps but all the apps that have that require root access continue to work. I use Carbon ROM, am on 4.4.4 and do my own builds. It has it's own built in SU but I've been using SuperSU. When a new app tries to get su access via SuperSU, the "grant" button won't press so the app eventually gets denied.
I uninstalled SuperSU and now only using the built in SU app that comes with Carbon ROM. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. No logs are being generated (yes, they are turned on) and I get no toast notifications when apps request root access. But they all still work fine... which seems very odd.
What does all this mean? Can the new twrp be causing it? How can I get SU apps to work again? I've run "root checker" and it says I have root. But when I first run the app, it never asks for root access.
Thanks.
