Overclocking - Galaxy S II General

Has any one been able to Overclock Gt-I9100 to more than 1.6Ghz?..
IF YES.. please can u tell me how to do it..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

I'd be interested to hear how this affects battery life.

Overclocking is kernel dependant so look at the limitations on the different custom kernels.
Max i have seen is 1696mhz on Siyah Kernel.

Yes, buy a core i7 desktop and use it for processor intensive tasks. 1.2 ghz is already fast and 1.65 is simply blazing for a mobile.

You will be able to change the 1600mhz "Max Freq" in "freq_table" only by script.
For more info see Siyah thread (ie: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19206493&highlight=1696#post19206493 )
And as always in overclocking "at your own risk".
You can also ask for help in the Siyah Q&A thread :

Our overclocking kernels dont work.
Overclocking damages cpu n generatez heat

Yes, just don't abuse it
You can use stock kernel or merruk kernel overclock version.

Actually,as Irfanbagus once said our overclock kernels dont have working overclock yet. That's why the devs abandoned the plans for overclock. But underclock is working in Savie's #73 kernel and marco-too's kernel.Underclocking wont do much harm but will make battery last a bit longer but not that much at the expense of responsiveness.

My Galaxy S3 Quadrant Score : 8727 Really!.

I have not seen the wrong friends .. I developed a new missile with rum was like the Galaxy s3. We have i3 CPU processor equivalent notebooks.

Well, there is an app that boosts quadrant score, so quadrant isn´t reliable, at least to show off in the internet.
Faked.
This thread ****ing sucks.
unless you can tell us what cpu, gpu speed this is and PROVE you haven't got a quadrant booster installed..... this is fake.
Showing off fake does not make you feel any better.

Not that i don't think this is fake, but quadrant booster boosts the io points by loading the app's data into ram so it'll past the database read/write at blazingly fast speed.
If you look at the chart you'll see the green section(the io) is at normal level,so he's not using this.
But if you look at the blue section(the cpu) you'll see that these scores are skyrocketed!
So he's overclocked to hell this phone,or he's just using an optimus g or something that has this kind of cpu performance.
Scores with quadrant are equal to none. Its unreliable and even if you get a high or low score it says nothing about your phone

Tweaked system settings, no big deal good for running one program and nothing else. Like running something with a priority of realtime in Windows.
Pump the CPU to stay at 1.7, run Quadrant exit out go to console raise its nice priority etc, go back and bingo nice big scores!
What's the point of this post, to show all you can use System Tuner or scripts or the console?

Do we have battery saving kernel?

As i see, any dev here are making fast kernel with tons of tweaks..
And many of them make a working kernel with ext2, ext3, ext4 support, and now even zRam support...
But, do we have a dev who want to make a battery saving kernel?
Can any dev do like this?

kuro kernel and repencis kernel (from repencis v3.5) is less using battery,in my experience.

hmm,in bacem tweak's undervolt (used in many kernel nowadays),we can decide how much the undervolt.
usually default bacem tweak is 100mv,i used the 120mv.
but in my experience, the stable battery saving is around 80-100
but my phone has tidy battery in 120

My 4.2.2 Kernel/Rom Benchmark thread

Sup guys, going to be making a comparison between different kernels running on different roms. I know that some of you are going to go on about how benchmarks don't mean anything, if that's you then simply disregard this post.
All roms will be tested with nothing except Gapps (not signed in), Titanium Backup and AnTuTu installed, TB and everything else will be closed before the benchmark.
3 benchmarks will be done, and I will post the average total score.
