Starting From Scratch - Acer Iconia A500

Hi all
My dilemma is the following. I have get my Iconia to factory rooted tab that no matter what Rom I install, I keep getting screen touch problem. meaning the screen is unstable and seems to have a mind of its own. while trying to type the keys are unresponsive or they tab on their own.
My only solution seems to get my tab to factory setting, including internal storage. Is there a way one can do this? Is reverting back to 3.0.1 my answer?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. If you're doing clean install every time than it's a hardware problem. By "clean " I mean wiping data/factory reset, plus formatting cache, dalvik cache and system -that's all. Then use CWM to flash your ROM. If this is still present, return your device.

Thanks for the answer.

EVO Constant Reboot

Whenever i flash a new ROM, my phone keeps rebooting. Any ideas?
Thanks
At what point does it reboot?
Sent via the Sprint HTC EVO
Try clearing your cache, data, etc. and yank the battery, wait 30 seconds, put it back in.
What ROMs and kernels have you tried?
Constant reboot happens when exiting recovery mode after flashing a new ROM.
I have tried several ROMS. Only one that works is fresh ROMS.
What method is the best way to ensure cache is deleted?
through your recovery. you should always wipe before you flash
data/cache/dalvik all three options
Yo, I'm having the same problems.

Constant reboot fixed by factory reset for me.

Will give the Factory Reset a try.
Thanks
Just tried it. Didn't work.
Clear ALL cache and data from your recovery: Dalvik cache, /data, and regular cache. Also try removing your SD card (worth a shot).
Did Factory Reset
Rebooted
Flashed Damage Control ROM
Rebooting over and over...
im not rooted at all and this same thing is happening to me itll get up to the 4g sign then reboot again.. have to wait until thursday to get my replacement ughhhhhhhh =(

This just happened to me also. Did you also root with the Unrevoked Evo 2 app? That's that I did, and it's the only thing I think might be causing the problem.

Please help... possessed DX!

My DX is possessed. Seriously though... the screen becomes unresponsive, random buttons are being pushed without the screen being touched, massive amounts of lag.... I have to reset the phone 4 or 5 times a day on average, sometimes more. I recently installed the GB leak but it was doing the same thing on Liberty 1.5 & the IncerdibleDoes Rom from Chingy.
Its driving me nuts! Help?!
Do a factory wipe on it. I had some wonkiness, as well, but doing a hard reset cleared it up for me.
Doing a factory wipe requires a SBF/RSD right? If it does I have no idea what that means...
If you created a nandroid backup before you flashed the roms, then restoring it should help. You could also do a hard reset or flash maderstock (the zip should be around the forums somewhere). Before you flash anything, you should do a wipe data/factory reset through clockwork. If you don't, you will likely have some problems.

bad sectors, possible detection?

Suddenly, my 6800 start to be very slow, so i have restarted the tablet, and since then it never boots, tried to do factory reset from recovery but it reboots while wiping data, wiping cache alone works but has no effect , the tablet still stuck on Galaxy Tab 7.7 sign.
i have re-flashed the firmware many times with no luck, is it possible to have bad sectors that prevent booting? how i could check if any exists?
is there any wiping Firmware?
Thanks

Although this is not the right section to post , as this should be posted in "General".
But as this just happened to me few days ago, the only straight way to overcome this is to leave the tab till the battery drains completely.
This is probably happening due to corrupted data with your internal memory .
e2fsck is what you want to run while In an ADB shell to your device. I have had corrupted storage twice and running the command on the various partitions fixed it for me both times. I don't remember the partitions off head, but it's easily found in the forums here.. Hope this helps..

Option to above (maybe) is to flash stock and then reset on completion, wipe in STOCK recovery, then do what you want -- works for me and I have very similar issues...

[Q]Omni Xoom Wingray boot problem

I recently rooted and installed OmniROM on my Xoom, but am having problems getting the tablet to boot. It makes it past the moto screen, but gets stuck on the blinking omni logo.
I followed the instructions in this thread, but I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried the entire process twice, and tried omitting gapps and even the update. Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?
If it means anything, TWRP is unable to wipe Dalvik, data or Internal Storage.
Thanks in advance!
Okay Scratch that. I did a reformat/reinstall and it finally booted. Now I just need to figure out that Text To Speech engine error.:good:
I have the same problem but with the Everest version
I have gone back to Gingerbread then back to EOS4
What did you do to reformat?
Did you successfully manage to wipe the dalvik cache and data etc?
OK in case anyone else had the problems I had then this repartitioning guide helped me. It was slightly different than the guide here, ie not just a wipe everything and expect it all to be ok kinda thing.
I was running my Xoom with the last EOS build and had an earlier version of TWRP. I started by upgrading in recovery to the NonBigPart TWRP and then followed the instructions from this link to repartition format etc and it worked for me.

I have the same problem. Can you explain what you mean by "a reformat/reinstall and it finally booted"? My Xoom is stuck on the Omni Android screen with the android blinking, but will not finish loading. My advanced wipe did not wipe all and I received a failed message. I'm guessing that is my issue, but I'm not sure what to do about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay. I found out what to do. Thanks though. Persistence works.
Seriously? Can't anyone explain what they did to fix the problem? You guys are pretty quick to ask for help, but don't even take the time to explain what you did to people who have the same problem.
If there's anyone with the same problem, the solution is to go to the wipe option and instead of using advanced wipe, just use format to delete all internal storage, then reboot and clear dalvik cache, etc. then flash omni, gapps and superSU (in that order), then reboot and wait a few minutes on the omni loading screen and its done.
I am struggling to get past the blinking omni logo, tried all ways to get this to boot, am i missing some thing

Galaxy tab 4 - T230 issue help

Hello. i have a Galaxy tab 4 - T230, but when i try to turn on, he goes to android system recovery <3e>.
i tried the wipe data/factory reset
i tried the wipe cache partition
i tried to reinstall the software using odin a few times
but he always go back to the system recovery....
how can i fix that?
thanks
Update your OS
I have the same problem. And just like you, I just can't get it to work. Well, these options used to work before I had an update on my OS. After the update, everything went smoothly
Did you try restoring to stock rom with ODIN?
(ODIN+STOCK ROM probably fixes like 99% of problems.)
