EVO Constant Reboot - EVO 4G General

Whenever i flash a new ROM, my phone keeps rebooting. Any ideas?
Thanks

At what point does it reboot?

Try clearing your cache, data, etc. and yank the battery, wait 30 seconds, put it back in.
What ROMs and kernels have you tried?

Constant reboot happens when exiting recovery mode after flashing a new ROM.

I have tried several ROMS. Only one that works is fresh ROMS.

What method is the best way to ensure cache is deleted?

through your recovery. you should always wipe before you flash
data/cache/dalvik all three options

Yo, I'm having the same problems.

Constant reboot fixed by factory reset for me.

Will give the Factory Reset a try.
Thanks

Just tried it. Didn't work.

Clear ALL cache and data from your recovery: Dalvik cache, /data, and regular cache. Also try removing your SD card (worth a shot).

Did Factory Reset
Rebooted
Flashed Damage Control ROM
Rebooting over and over...

im not rooted at all and this same thing is happening to me itll get up to the 4g sign then reboot again.. have to wait until thursday to get my replacement ughhhhhhhh =(

This just happened to me also. Did you also root with the Unrevoked Evo 2 app? That's that I did, and it's the only thing I think might be causing the problem.

Help! Stuck on "Starting Applications" during boot!

My issue is this -- my phone will be running fine for days, even weeks, and will then spontaneously reboot. The phone will then get stuck on the Android "Starting Applications" step and never get any further. I've attempted to wipe cache and Dalvik, and even gone so far as to re-flash the ROM I happen to be running at the time.
This has happened to me at least a half dozen times, and it's starting to frustrate me. I've had this issue with at least 4 different ROMS, including CM 10.1, PA, AOKP, and at least one mixed feature ROM. The only solution I've found at this point is to do a factory reset and system wipe and start from scratch.
Any suggestions on what I might try next time? I'm really at a loss.
dont wipe or clear data after you flash a rom. flash rom and if it installs correctly then clear the cache and thats it. then let it reboot
i used to get stuck in that same screen, but thats because i was clearing data after i had flashed a rom. hopefully that helps
Had this issue. Do a stock flash with the toolkit

go to recovery, do a factory data reset.

Nexus 4 Won''t pass Google Screen

My N4 doesn't seem to pass the Google Screen. I flashed a new rom because for some reason I stopped receiving messages but could make phone calls. I was on PAC now I tried to flash Revolt 4.4 but now it will not pass the Google Screen. Also, I am on twrp if that helps. I have used normal wipe. then advanced wiping the system, cache, data. Anyone know how to fix this?
-Thanks !

When you say normal wipe, do you mean wipe data/factory reset? If you haven't tried that, try it then flash a new ROM and then gapps. If your problem still persists then you would probably have to revert to stock ROM (factory image)
You may have gotten a bad download of the ROM, or some other problem with the zip. If you still have the zip of your last ROM (always a good idea until you know the new one boots), then try flashing it. If not, as suggested above, revert to stock and start over.

With factory image will my phone be completly erased?
And I mean with when you go to twrp recvoery the normal wipe. Not Factory Reset the standard wipe data and cache.
Fixed it.
Kind of bummed out right now. It seems TWRP recovery was bugged somehow. It didn't let me wipe anything at all. even when it said it did which is odd. I had to perform a factory reset. I'm glad about the phone now booting up. Just a little bummed out all those pics I took on the 4th of July are gone.

X screen

hello.
i have my nexus blocked to the screen with the X. .. I have neither root nor any other.
the phone had just finished charging (off), I unplugged the cable and turned on, when I reconnected the power cable and got stuck at the X.
Now I can only turn it off, if I relight remains locked to the X.
I made 2 reset, the normal and wipe cache, it's start, and I made the account synchronization, installed everything, but I turned it off with the battery at 13%, and when I turned on it happened again.
I formatted and reinstalled everything 2 more times, but the problem persists.
only two of times I was able to power cycle the phone
Your info is not clear. First you say the phone is neither root or any other but u did a wipe cache? How did you wipe cache? custom recovery? stock recovery?
Use the toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995688) and Flash Google Factory stock. Warning: it will wipe everything in your phone and reset your phone to stock.

all stock....in recovery mode there is the voice wipe cache and Wipe System\format /system. I've done both
thinking about it, I have problems since I did fully discharge the phone and turned off
The /system partition contain the Android OS files, so when you wipe it, of course the phone won't bout since there isn't anything to boot into. Just check the sticky thread in the general section to restore the factory firmware using fastboot.
If that's not what you mean, then you probably put the phone in hibernate mode. You should open up the phone and remove and reinsert the battery.

Have you tried rebooting the phone? Or wiped cache in recovery. Dalvik is imo still more stable and faster then ART atm.

I have tried rebooting and safe mode...
then I wanted to try factory reset but excidently got into download mod insted...I tool the chance of a brick and took the battery out while in download mode(since I didnt have files to burn via odin) and the phone just turned on using delvik and didnt show any problem...so the issue is solved,,,I have no idea how and why but it is...

I had ill effects when switching myself, found that best way to test it was to switch it to ART right after a hard reset or flashing stock via odin. Im sure just wiping cache and dalvik would have fixed it, but i was returning the phone for USB port issues anyhow so i flashed back to stock. not sure if clearing the android files on the internal storage or the cache/dalvik being wiped fixed it, but it ran find after that with no FC's etc. As stated though, i havent really noticed much if any improvement. Still too soon in its infancy to probably see much from it yet lol.
Good luck!

Stuck in recovery mode loop

Hi guys
i have a custom rom, nougat 7.1 installed and its been working fine. last night i installed an aftermarket battery replacement as the other wasnt holding a charge. after turning on by simply pressing the power switch it went straight to twrp recovery and kept doing so. this morning i cleared the cache and data to start again which was a bit of hassle and it then booted fine. however, i just restarted again and its in the same loop.
i have checked for any obvious obstruction under the rear case that could be pressing against the volume keys but there isnt anything.
any ideas?
cheers
Did you try to reflash everything, e.g. also the ROM?

i didnt really want to do that unless i really had to. as i say, before the battery swap it was fine
But if you cleared already cache *and* data all your data is already lost, e.g. it's like a factory reset. So flashing a new ROM will not worse the situation ...
