You might want to look at THIS

You can overclock your phone in Cyanogenmod settnings

Yes, but you must have the OC module or an OC kernel installed for doing this.

Set governor to smartassV2 before you start overclocking. It might help.

GingerDx and LinuxDx + OC

Hi, I have x8 with GingerDx 17 and LinuxDx 004. I have tried oc 004 and "better X8OVERCLOCK" but not work. Why? I use setcpu. Thanks
Oc is module working only with stock kernel

Yep, and doixanh doesn't like overclocking, so he won't put it in his kernel. You need to wait for freexperia kernel
Howell it's not the topic question, i'd like to ask what are actually the pros and the cons of OC'ing?
for me it depends on what you use your phone for...if you OC it the battery will last less (depending on the freq)...if you use it for gaming you can OC but for daily use I don't think you should (not at 800mHz anyways)...so figure it out...for me...I do not need it...I need battery cheers
it would be great GDX+LDX+OC u.u...but doixanh still being great

Stable O.C

HI GUYS

768 is very stable for me..787 still ok but at 806 phone reboot sometimes
Mine is stable on 806MHz but if I switch it up to 825 I get restarts when I use certain apps, such as Market.
It's strange, I can do Stress Test for an hour with SetCPU at 825, but when I use Market it restarts my phone.

overclocking kernel ALFS - problem

hello, my English is not too good. I have a problem. Well, this kernel ALFS install to my xperia x8 GignerDx ROM. When overclocking the CPU to 729mhz my phone restarts. Is it possible to somehow change the value of the CPU between 600 and 729 mhz? Please any advice.
Thank you and best regards
Your hardware seem not stable with oc so dont use it

1.7 ghz kernel request

Hi, I installed the rom in my tablet hydro 4.1 jb, I wanted to know if someone could give me a flashable kernel with the ability to overclock 1.7GHz in performance. thanks in advance
There was one rom that I was using, at 1.66ghz actually makes it overheat, I don't think 1.7ghz is safe tho
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901784
I juz flash it two days ago and it was stable but it did overheat so be careful...and u have to flash v01 first

i've done everything but the max oc with this rom is 1.3 ghz, i don't know why...

maybe, because you did not put it in performance mode
attached is a OC kernel for 1.66ghz, do NOT use deadline I/O scheduler, its buggy, CFQ with interactive governor is the way to go !!

[Q] Best kernel?

What is the best kernel in its terms? I know each kernel is good for something, but can you site which is which?
I'm planning to change, merruk has been a real pain in the butt. It keeps rebooting even though its only set to 834 mhZ. -____-"
And also any suggestion for a good rom? I wanted the resurecctionremix but its only for s2.
Ciao.
If you are not using cm7 then savies kernel is good
kurotsugi's kuro kernel is not bad too
for rom try hyperion or jellyblast v3
which rom are you using right now??
If you are using hyperion then random reboots may be due to high undervolting
go to system/etc/init.d and search for 00undervolt
if its not there then look for bacem_tweak
edit it using root explorer and change undervolt value to -100mV (or less eg -80mV) save and reboot.. Random reboots are fixed
I'm using Jellyblast v.3.0.4 on Merruks Kernel. Its rebooting every now and then.

It`s fast too but is not overclocked.
MT only !
only Merruk MT kernels can deliver 100% performance and sophistication.
many other kernels are so poorly documented they give everyone a pain in the lower back :silly:
But Merruk kernel gas rebooting and Wakelock problems. I used it for some some days then changed.

yeah, same too me.
Now i use Whitexp Kernel 1.3.3
Merruk kernel is great. But its for experts (hehe)
Savie is stable (im using it on hyperion, but boot is slow)
kuro just right (stable, and it has all you need)
white xp fast (tried it, it has fast card read)
