Note II Already?

Not sure what to make of this, really not enough info but...well read on...
Must - find - out - what's - in - it - !
Maybe we should start writing to Samsung about what we would LIKE to see in it.
Samsung GT-N8010 Emerges, Could Be Galaxy Note 2
- Samsung GT-N8010
South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new flavor of its Galaxy Note device, one that has just been spotted with model number GT-N8010.
The new device was seen over at the WiFi Alliance, where it received the necessary approvals with support for EEE 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity capabilities.
However, beside the fact that it sports a model number pointing in this direction, there is no other proof that this might indeed be the successor of Galaxy Note, which was made official in September this year, during the IFA show in Berlin.
Moreover, there is also the possibility that this would be a different flavor of the already available handset, since Samsung has yet to launch it in some new markets around the world, such as the United States.
One way or the other, next year's CES or MWC shows might shed some light on this.

nah, because then real news would get lost in the noise. perhaps this thread could be for facts about what we know about potential devices that could be the N2, and the other is just people posting their fantasies about the N2

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Phone App

Hi all,
I don't think anyone has mentioned this but when I was at Mobile World Congress a few weeks back I had a look at the new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and was very underwhelmed by it all......well apart from one thing! The 3G version now has a phone app built in and I asked the sales rep on the day was it hardware based solely or software based? He was unable to confirm which it was but I am wondering if it's software do you think there is a change of it being ported to the original 3G Galaxy Tab 10.1? You can clearly see the shortcut for the app in the attached picture (lower left). Now I know it would not be ideal for having a phone conversation on but it's still interesting all the same!
Cheers,
M
PS: A quick Google on this does not throw up much at all which is strange that none of the tech sites have picked up on it.

That's because it's not a "galaxy tab 2 10.1." It's called the "galaxy note 10.1." You might edit your title so you don't confuse other people who also didn't do the research.
there are 2 new galaxy tab. galaxy note 10.1 and galaxy tab 2 also 10.1. if somebody get tab2 firmware we can try.

Official 4.4.2 coming for s3 mini

http://phandroid.com/2014/02/18/samsung-galaxy-kitkat-official/
We’d already gotten word from an inside source that Samsung had big plans for KitKat, and those rumors have just become reality. Samsung has just officially announced that 14 different Galaxy devices will be receiving the upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat. That’s a lot of devices, so let’s not waste any time and jump right into it:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini
Samsung Galaxy Mega
Samsung Galaxy Light
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
Samsung made it a point to mention that “select” carrier editions of all these devices would get it, which pretty much means it’s up to your carrier to decide whether or not they’ll ultimately bring it to their version of any of these. We have a feeling quite a few of the devices on this list are going to be updated on nearly every carrier imaginable, though, so we wouldn’t worry too much about missing out.
This upgrade doesn’t add a ton of new features on Samsung’s side of the court, as the manufacturer brought most significant changes in the Android 4.3 upgrade that preceded it. Here’s what’s new in case you’re interested:
Location Menu: An integrated location menu enables users to easily activate GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks, while simultaneously checking the battery usage of apps running location service capabilities.
Enhanced Messaging: Enables users to choose between Messages or Hangouts as their preferred default messaging application, and select from a larger assortment of updated Emoji icons.
Upgraded Google Mobile Service™ (GMS) apps: Users can automatically back up photos and video and can open, view, rename and share Google Docs and files.
Of course, everything else new to KitKat as a whole can be found in our big FYI post right here, so be sure to take a gander in case you’re interested in more of the under-the-hood changes making this thing tick.
In case you haven’t heard, the Samsung Galaxy S4 upgrade has already started rolling out on Sprint here in the United States, while the Galaxy Note 3′s upgrade has started rolling out overseas.
Samsung says updates will “start” rolling out today, which you should take to mean that only certain devices, in certain regions and on certain carriers will be seeing an immediate rollout. It’ll likely take a few weeks — maybe months — for the upgrade to reach everyone on all these different devices, so you’ll have to be a little patient if you don’t get it sooner than you can say “break me off a piece of that KitKat bar.

i really think it's between the 7a and OnePlus One, though I'd add the m8 in that list
for me, I hate samsung phones...Locked bootloaders to hell
Find 7a looks like there won't be a lot of dev support, and the OnePlus One isn't guaranteed support because of cm (think N1)
so, I'd choose the m8 because of the HUGE dev community. all variants of the m8 are basically the same and thus most of the software will work from any of the variants
$350 for a beast I on this the only thing I want for this is a good kernel with faux sound support and this is my father's day gift

Many reasons not to buy the OnePlus One if you want a TOP smartphone.
Many reasons to buy it if you want a very good device at a very good price.
Sorry everyone, but there is already a thread for comparing deviced. Can I ask you to repost this into The Device Comparison Thread.
Thanks!
