Hey guys,
Bare with me please as I am fairly new-ish to Android but have some experience with Samsungs, HTCs and the beloved LG GT540.....
I appreciate if anyone can help me on my plight.....
My girlfriend was running Cyanogen Mod for the last year or so on her device and decided that she wanted to try out a different ROM on her phone....
I wanted to install the Oxegen ROM....
Originally I was thinking it would be easy and I could put it on through Clockwork Recovery and flash the zip no problem, for some reason when I rebooted to recovery clockwork would not load up on the device.... just blank screen....
Not content with this, bored on a Sunday afternoon I gave it a couple of hours of my time and in the process messed my girlfriends phone up....
What I did was I tried flashing back to stock using the LG KDZ updater, that was fine and the phone rebooted and has since stuck on the Android logo....
According to this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078745&highlight=stuck+on+android+screen I gave all this a go and I can not get the device showing up in Fastboot, I can not enable USB debugging on it either as I can not get into the phone to tick the box....
In my cmd prompt I am seeing this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In my device manager when my device is connected and powered on I am seeing this :
When I am connected and the device is in "download mode" my devices are like this :
I understand the steps provided in the link above and I am fairly confident I could do them if I can get the device "seen" in Fastboot....
I have installed and re-installed all the USB drivers in hope that it may be a driver issue, now I am wondering is it maybe my OS? Win7 64Bit Ultimate?
I can try it on XP netbook if thats all thats causing my issues....
I am kinda lost now and wondering have I bricked it? It will be the first phone I have if thats the case....
Any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot guys....
Mods if this is in the wrong area, please feel free to move my post.....
did u go to fastboot (power+camera pressed when booting up).
well, from my experience, if i flash incorrectly (via fastboot or recovery), it will go bootloops or go to clockwork, or if i flash incorrectly via kdz, i've got stuck in LG logo or got linux kernel panic.
it seems to me u've flash kdz incorrectly. flash kdz with fastboot mode via download (or emergency mode).
try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13184840&postcount=42
and make sure u already install all LG drivers (u can Google those).
gud luck. if else fails, put a very sad and stupid face, act as u dont know anything, bring the phone to the LG representative in ur town.
idk for 64 bit version as i use 32 bit. u can try find pdanet driver, there is 64 bit driver there and it install fastboot well in PC.

Fastboot and ADB works on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I installed LG Drivers then Google USB Driver. It worked then. But I know I did struggle to finally get it working.
Thanks a lot for the advice and replies guys....
As I said, I think my problem lies in not being able to tick the USB debugging option on the phone as I can not boot into the phone to do so....
Is there a way to enable USB debugging over ADB?
As I said, I can "see" the phone responding to ADB, just not fastboot!
I am in the process of installing everything and starting fresh on the Xp netbook, if this fails I would say its new phone time for my g/f, Sony X8 is 80 euro on our network so if the worst comes to the worst I will get her a new one....
Much appreciated guys and if anyone has anything to the thread I will be all ears...
Cheers!

i think u got it wrong.
read here: http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fastboot and here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Fastboot
first of all, i need to ask u the question (again), can u boot to fastboot (or bootloader) when u pressed power (the reject/red phone button) and camera button altogether? the fastboot screen in the phone will be like black screen, but with a little amount of backlight (u'll notice the difference) or blue screen with texts if u flash a kdz-modified-fastboot. if u cant go to bootloader/fastboot, then u need to flash a kdz with fastboot.
u can try this: when u type adb devices, type: adb reboot bootloader
though im not sure if ur gf's phone has fastboot/bootloader (might be missing during the kdz flashing that u've done).
when u type adb devices
m1st3r1 - if you ever come to Dublin, I will buy you a beer!
After nearly 3 days of pulling what hair I have left on my head out, my problem was I was mistaking Fastboot for Download mode.....
I was connecting the phone holding the volume down so it came up "download mode" now all I did was hold the camera + red button and off it went with the command from the post above....
I feel like an idiot, but im a happy idiot right now.....
Thanks a lot, means a lot to me.... (and my girlfriend!)
LOL welcome to the hackers club

I thought I could get it back by KZD and appears this:
I need your help to get my phone if you can help me appreciate it all.
Look for a file v10d_downgrade.kdz in the net, you have to flash that. And the flash whatever kdz you want
It wont work with other kdz.
Ps: i see a white screen in the first photo

It does not work, the KDZ throws me the same error. Look:
DELETED sorry wrong post
First of all reinstall the drivers on your computer
Then, did you try to remove the battery, plug the phone to your computer (without the battery), then try to start the phone in Emergency Mode?
If you get to the Emergency Mode with the correct drivers installed, you should be able to flash anything from KDZ.
This method was the only way I could get my L7 in Emergency Mode AND recognized by KDZ, so you could be in the same situation as me maybe?
That method never worked for me, did you get a "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe" in the packge that you downloaded? Use that, select emergency and the v10d_downgrade and flash! (follow a tutorial, you need to install small http server before...... like here)
have u tried "vol down" + "power button"
and when buttons light up, press the "menu" button
and do it a couple of times?
Nothing I've read has worked for me, trying to read the information on the device I get this:

Hey friend. I have already almost lost my phone several Times.
But persistance is the best to resolve your problem.
Firstly ur phone isnt bricked as it turns on!!!
So try this:
1° turn off phone
2° bottom up + down + turn on
3° should apper "emergency mode" [if this didnt work, try And get in this screen"
4°flash KDZ ( MAKE SURE ITS ON EMERGENCY MODE ON KDZ UPDATER ! AND THE MOST
IMPORTANT WHEN YOU FLASH IT WILL POP UP SEVERAL ERROS . DONT DO NOTHING LET IT CONTINUE )
5° Phone will boot loop (resolve it making a HARD RESET (bottom down+ menu+turn on)
6° now it will reset everything. Then u must flash AGAIN KDZ UPDATER (BUT NOW IT WONT SHOW ERROS ON KDZ UPDATER )
Job done
Phone recovered
PM ME IF ANY DOUBT OCCOURS
Sent From ... Lg e400 <-- {[Brasilian Here]}
Enter in DIAG MODE vol up+vol down+ turn on
(Just do it IF -> u have tried my tip ABOVE this one.)
After that , make sure u connect ur phone then, flash in KDZ UPDATE.
NO ERROR . THIS MUST WORK FOR YOU . AND AS I SAID
IF IT DONT RECONIZE YOUR PHONE THEN U MUST HARD RESET IT .
Sent From ... Lg e400 <-- {[Brasilian Here]}
Finally I could fix the problem without using KDZ and now I want to share with the community.
1. Remove the phone battery.
2. Press the button '+', and connect the usb (without battery).
3. Wait until the drivers are installed on the computer.
4. With the program of LG Mobile Support Tool, and with the phone connected press "Upgrade Error recovery" within the program.
5. Let it download the rom, you unzip and install.
Note: All this process without the battery attached to the phone.
That's all
Bootloop on CMWR and phone never close, only without battery!
Hello.
Today i want to upgrade my android, and surprise! When i push "install"and phone is was restarted, is entered in a continuos loop restart directly in CMWR mode. Here, it was impossible to install anything or make any changes, only "restart", and again, the phone is restarting directly in CMWR mode. At first I thought I bricked my phone, because even in emergency mode it could not start
BUT all this is madeit with battery inside!
After reading what was written here, I realized that I have to remove the battery, and surprise, on the second attempt i managed to start in emergency mode! (with usb cable connected to PC! ) :laugh:
Good...
Now, i openet the "LG Mobile Support Tool" (with usb connected to PC), and after LG mobile tool i let to check and install the last version of USB drivers , it was able to communicate with my PC. After that, i installed the latest available version of Android, via LG Mobile Tool and now is working.
BUT i lost the root of the phone. Anyway, it's the phone of my wife, and she's not interested in "walked" through it
Thanks to "andersonlima" , i understand that as long as boots, is not bricked !
Good luck in the future, and most importantly, read well, with calmness, that can occur various ideas, along with what you have in face, may lead to solving your problem! :good:

Its not windows 8 that is giving problms mate. It is that our phone's bootloader drivers aren't workinng. And this is best place to search for our device.

Already tried those methods of installing drivers in Win 8.1 x64, nothing works. Adb works fine, but fastboot drivers doesn't get installed and we still see those unknown E7 devices as mentioned above. If someone else have all drivers installed, kindly share us the method to install all drivers properly. Another reason to hate this driver enforcement crap!

Did anyone figure out how to get fastboot working? I am having the same issue. ADB works fine when the phone is off (battery charging logo on the screen) but when I go into fastboot mode (the red gionee logo displayed) the phone is not recognized by ADB or FASTBOOT commands.
^^ That issue can't be resolved under Windows 8.1 64 bit, I tried almost everything but vain. Only way it can work is to install Win XP 32 bit, and then try with the drivers posted above. It should work hopefully. Problem is my SSD is quite low on space so I won't be able to dual boot XP. If anyone else can try this on XP, let us know.

can you boot into fastboot mode by vol down + power (flashing gionee logo). if yes then it would be easy to unbrick your phone. i will post whole unbrick guide as soon as i unbrick my phone.
You people need to install the E7 Flash tools posted in development thread on your XP. Then use that to flash back the Gionee stock firmware to your phone.

When I press the vol down + power button, it turns the phone off if it is ON. When I press vol down + power when the phone is OFF, it just shows a RED Gionee Logo (no flashing logo). when I run adb reboot-bootloader, it also goes to this red Gionee logo screen and stays there. I assumed this was the fastboot mode. When the red gionee logo shows, my PC does not recognize the phone at all. Pressing Vol up + power loads the Android System Recovery (3e)

jump on irc, freenode, lg-g2 channel. Tell them you used the wrong auto-rec and u are able to get into fastboot. They will give you/direct you to partitions for your phone. You will then need to flash these partitions. Probably the correct aboot and laf(downloadmode), and recovery(maybe not). You will then be able to get into download mode, where you can flash a stock rom. Or possibly give you old aboot and directly flash a custom recovery. Not sure. Go and ask.

Damn please report back if you resolve your issue. I'm sure you'll help anyone else who might themselves in a similar situation
You can install the Stock ROM For KDZ file, the G2 will be restored...
Search in Google/Youtube: Back To Stock ROM LG G2
PS. You can only enter the Download Mode with the G2 connected with PC by USB
he can't enter dld mode.
1. download autorec for your version
2. extract aboot - boot - laf
3.
fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash laf laf.img
I did the same thing. Recovered by flashing the correct laf.img with fastboot, which repaired download mode. Then use download mode with a .kdz file and the (un)official LG rescue tool.

I'm sorry that I write here but if I do not want to create a new topic. Maybe someone is able to help?
Hello my problems started up in the morning as I came up with a kernel update.
Mistakenly threw versions of the D800 and the phone went into fastboot.
I tried the method with a live CD of Ubuntu but it does not fit me these many partitions so I can not write it these paintings partition.
I tried to unpack the correct kernel to a file boot.img fastboot flash I uploaded by write and quite like to be spoiled because I wrote that there is no certificate or something - so as to completely fell boot.
But after some time did enter into download mode I uploaded versions V220D and went.
Now phone can enter to download mode but charges only to the logo and the LED flashes blue and green.
The computer sees the phone software from LG emergency phone does not play because he writes with is the newest version but see the battery level and what I currently versions.
What else to do to restore phone?
I would be very grateful.

hm..I see you managed to flash the rom ?
so the problem is you didn't wipe.
turn the device OFF
hold power + volume down until you see the LG logo, release the buttons for a moment and then hold volume down + volume up. On the white screen confirm 2-3 times with power button. After the factory reset (the thing you just did) it will boot.

So when you turn it on your phone after turning off you don't see the LG screen but only the lines? or only in the recovery?

Thanks for the reply. This is all I see. The lines move about a bit then get stuck on the above screenshot. I can't get into recovery :crying:

Try entering download mode - poweroff the device -> hold volume up and connect to pc. Then try flashing your stock firmware.

Just tried that - it switched the phone on - the lines moved around again then settled into the screenshot.
Do I need the drivers installed on a PC for this to work? I tried it on a mac with Android File Transfer.

You need windows + lg flash tool 2014 + your kdz, drivers would install through the lg suite.

Unfortunately I can't get to the dialer to get my IMEI. I know they used to be under the battery but thats obviously a no no on the g2.
Regardless, I found the .kdz here http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Hong+Kong+D802/
Installed the drivers, LG Flash Tool 2014, attempted to put my phone into Download mode (The phone has the grey lines in different places) but the PC still doesn't recognize the phoen when I plug it in and the flash tool cannot read the phone also.
Any other suggestions please? Thanks.
You may also try the tot method.
Can you recognize if the image behind the lines is small (centered on the screen) or a larger one ?
Because it might be that you've got blue circles, which are shown prior to entering the actual download mode..

I don't actually know if its going into download mode or not. I've taken another photo as below which shows what my phone looks like when plugged in, the lines move around like an animation to start of with then settle in this position - there isn't actually anything behind the lines. It's almost as if the screen is messed up and the pictures aren't displaying correctly. I seriously doubt it is a hardware issue as it was working just fine before using AutoRec.
Just so annoyed at myself for doing this so soon after I got it -_-
1. power off
2. hold volume up and connect to pc
3. flash kdz

or just connect to pc if it doesn't boot, see if there is some device in device manager that wasn't there.

To make things more clear, I've posted a video of going into download mode and showing the flash tool. Maybe this will help?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBNnYC0hmzs&list=UUc_6uazlw8MzDK9s4gvdscA
Did you install the drivers or not ?
I'll send you few links later, please remind me one more time via inbox.
Iam facing the exact same issue right now
Phone was already soft bricked. user to get stuck at the lg logo and download modestopped working , volume + power would bring fast boot so i used adb command prompt and flashed boot,aboot and recovery files and then did a reboot and all i have are these moving gray lines
IF anybody resolved this issue please help with the steps
I have a same problem. Please help me, please !
Where did you buy the phone? Some online sellers combine parts from all variants and sell refurbished phones under D802 so when you flash it bricks your phone.
Do you have IMEI on box?

Same thing happened with me when i use autorec, lines on the screen but the phone work normally, receive calls and messages, the touch works normally, every thing work normal but there's no screen output or colors only gray lines wuth black screen. I think it's a refurbished phone with a different board that written on the cover, and we use the wrong autorec according to the board.

The only reason is the wrong version of SuperSu. Maybe I use custom made SuperSu for OnePlus 3T.
Before I flashed that SuperSu Zip file using TWRP there is no such problem. Only after flash SuperSu cause this issue .. ?
Before this flash, LG G2's is a new fresh install custom LineageOS for LG G2. Everything is OK. Only no root access. TWRP already installed.
LG G2 still can go to Download Mode as shown by holding the power button and connect USB cable to PC. But the problem is the PC & laptop cannot install the required driver properly. I think I've tried installed/reinstall all the suggested drivers but to no avail.
I even cannot enter the recovery mode using the key combination. When the phone is power on, it will continue to show that Boot certification verify alert.. Ermm ...
Just now just praying PC / laptop can detect and use tools installed on my computer to get to boot into the recovery mode. But is it still possible?
Or this totally means that I will never can use my LG G2 anymore?
Thanks guys.
try to put the ROM via tot aver if you accept it

wtf same thing happend to me
This happened to me too once.
Security error normally means that you should have flashed bumpboot.zip after supersu.zip.
You should still be able to get into TWRP (PWR+Down until Logo appears, then Up+Down).
Some LG drivers seem to miss something. Try older versions or alternative generic ADB drivers.
TOT method always worked for me in the end.
Install SRK Tools to fix boot partition. After that, you could enter in download mode easily.
Edit: LinageOS have your exclusively SuperSU. Next time, install the proper version in lineageOS Website. That problem happen to me, same problem...
Thanks to all.
But whatever fix you suggested, first the laptop/PC needs to detect the phone and install the driver correctly first right?
That is where I'm stuck now.
Even my office laptop also have the same problem, cannot install the driver properly.
Any help?
Thanks.

I've already downloaded this before.
But I could not find the option you mentioned.
Can you please guide me more details.
And if the laptop still cannot recognized my LG G2 properly, can I still proceed?
Thank you.
Latest status at my office laptop...
I have tried numerous drivers but to no avail.
Any help?
Thank you.
I mananged to get into this when I let the phone boot with a totally blank and black screen...
Any help with SRK Tools in this case?
Thank you.
Thank you so much guys.
Yes this SRK Tool is really amazing - https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076
I can now get back into recovery mode and most importantly my computer can detect my phone!! Thanks a lot.
But now it seems that my Lineage OS has become corrupted and I don't think I want to install it anymore because the display is very poor in brightness.
So my next question is with such condition ie improper Lineage OS installation on the phone right now, how do I get back to the latest stock OS.
How do I start?
Thank you so much for the help.
After flashing SuperSU do as @MB525 suggests, flash Boot Image Bumper/ bumpboot-v1.0-blastagator-signed.zip
http://www.gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/miscellaneous/
This needs to be done with Magisk too.
Same thing happen to me
